Dunno about that CE, man... (SC5, of course)

The CE pack...for $80, it seems like a rather underwhelming package. The art book is nice but otherwise...I'm not sure...

Anything in there really worth going for?

If you were asking me, I would say no. The only reason I'm pre-ordering is for dampierre (or so I've been told). I don't even care about the IVY Bobble head, tbh.

If artwork is your thing, then go for it, as I'm sure the art will be decent. Otherwise if your like me and only care about the game, don't bother.

On the other hand, did I see a "making of" DVD about SC5?? I'm a nerd for that kind of stuff, but that extra 20$ from the original 60$ doesn't seem worth the return to me.

I had to cancel my pre-order at Gamestop and switch to Best Buy. I wanted to heavily criticize them about this somewhat big trade off so badly. <_<

That's what I'm saying. CEs I see are typically about $10 over the standard asking price. For $20 extra, I'd expect some kind of DLC waiver for x number of future DLC releases. This just includes Create-a-Soul DLC parts as far as in-game extra content. For that much premium, I'd really want more stuff I can actually use in the game itself. $10 extra is fine for more 'feelies' without a deeper expectation of in-game content.

With the Soundtrack CD, an artbook, and a DVD, i can see how that is $20 extra.

Will I get the CE pack? Honestly yes, because I want to know how they make the game, the art direction, and I love listening to VGM.

But I'm curious about the OST itself, because I read on the soundtrack site that it would be three disks worth.

Does that mean that the Limited Edition Soundtrack CD will be "limited"?

It says it has a book box case...considering my OCD, I feel like they need to put the regular casing in there with the game because I'd feel really uncomfortable having that giant brown box sitting with the rest of my regular PS3 games.

It's odd to wish for something like that, but it's unlikely since they've already shipped the game everywhere. /:

The regular retail game is inside of the book. So, just take it out and put it on your shelf like normal.

Don't want it? Don't buy it. I'll happily pay my extra 20 bucks to get the ultimate version of the game, as should all of us to support the series.

The pricing of $79.99 for all of that is debatable. Prices are more or less the same in every country, unless you live in one of those countries where markups galore, but I know the CE sells in the US for $80, but it would include the artbook, soundtrack (+ DVD maybe?), and DLC, whereas the overseas port of the CE carries the signed poster and the parchment letter of thanks.

The US CE is pretty expensive then if you just give it those, but the overseas CE is too good to be true if it has all those components inside.

Oh jeez, I broke down and gave into the CE.

*Le sigh.*

I didn't find out what platform 8WR prefers, though. So I just went with the 360 version (since that's where I owned Soul Calibur IV).
