I'm creating this thread to get some initial chatter/hype going. Once the games have been announced, then someone can create a thread in Tournament Announcements or just move this thread there and add the RSVP.

If you haven't seen yet, EVO 2010 will be at Caesar's Palace on July 9-11, 2010. I know y'all like SC4 is dead and shit, but I will be there regardless. I know Bibulus and Serge are going. Larry's cock should also be there two days in advance of everyone else because of how well it travels. I'm also bringing the hood with me. I got some people who can't wait to go to Vegas, so I'll definitely be there having a good ass time.

I'm pretty optimistic about SC4's chances at EVO. For one, I'm not getting anywhere by being negative. And two, outside of the games that are guaranteed to be in the lineup, the ones that are on the fence suck compared to SC4. Plus people from other countries will come to Vegas and compete. And if for some reason SC4 is not in the lineup, we can always run shit in people's rooms and do casuals/money matches/no pants matches/etc. I would really like to see some money matches for that cheddah take place.

I haven't been to Vegas since 2000, so I am dying to go back. I'm starting my plans now. Hope to see you guys there.
 
Hype this UP! Soul Calibur back at Evo would be hype! I know we would get all the People from France, Russia, Korea etc. back in there and have the U.N. of all tournaments there.

As far as SC goes, there is an outside chance it can still make it, but to be honest they monitor our community activity, and that will speak for itself. Hell even Mashy Blood has a larger scene than we do now. But who knows, if they ask for my opinion on whether SC4 deserves a spot, I will support it, just so I can hang with everyone and we can all still sit around wondering what the funk happened to this community :P

But honestly, how many more Amy/Amy/Amy/Hilde/Amy/Amy/Amy/Hilde placings can we take without any outsiders looking in and going "man that game looks like boring ass shit."?

Who knows. But I will always run SC events in my neck of the woods, even if the community totally dies out.

Is this a joke? I looked through the tourney results and none of them listed Hilde or Amy winning, nor was any bracket filled by them. I know some tourneys must have had players using these characters and winning but it's not like it's getting like SF:3S tourneys...

If SCIV is at Evo, I'll be there (like anyone cares).
 
Melty Blood maybe bigger, but that shit is mad gay. Who the hell wants to watch that at EVO? If anyone here wants to see it at EVO, I'll come to your house and slap the shit out of you.

Our saving grace is that people will travel to Vegas for EVO and Calibur. Plus numbers don't tell the whole story because look at the level of competition these past East Coast tournaments have been. With most of the scrubs dropping out, the level of competition in SC4 has been monster. I'm sure that our international peeps will come out to Vegas like last year. Plus people like Ramon and Woahhzz weren't at EVO last year. I am sure that they would like to be there in 2010 to wreck shit. And Something-Unique wasn't there either. I'm sure he would like to show off them just frames. Plus we have some cool ass people that play Calibur. Or would you rather feature a game that attracts a bunch of boring ass, socially inept people?

Even the trolls over at SRK are more optimistic about SC4's chances. Y'all should be too.

I'm also not worried about what character will be in the finals. If you make it that far, then you've earned the right to use whoever you want. My money is on Ivy being one of the characters in the finals, but that's all dependent on the game being at EVO and who shows up.

And worst case scenario would be that we run shit out of people's rooms. I'll probably be drunk most of the time anyway, so who knows how much Calibur I'll actually play. But I'll challenge someone to a lapdance match as long as you're on my skill level so that it's somewhat competitive. And Bibulus is up to MM someone/or several people for a hunnid. Any takers? He'll provide the exact details once he posts some shit.

So spread the word around the world. Let's all go to EVO and have a ballin' ass time regardless of what happens, because we can still get together as a community and still have a banging ass time in Vegas.

And I would also love to see France, Germany, Poland, Russia, Australia, Korea, Djibouti, and wherever else that plays Calibur come through to EVO and make that shit really hype.
 
I like your optimism, Malice. Of course I'll always support Calibur, and I'll most likely be there again if it returns to Evo.

I'm hoping that a BD port will get announced soon so that people will be hyped up about the game again. And so that I can spank the shit out of people with Dampierre.
 
I'm going to Evo2010, and I'll play in calibur if it is there, which it should be. It'll be a good follow up after the Cannes tournament, and honestly, it's not like you guys have anything else to do.

Everywhere I go, excitement follows...keep that in mind
 
Looks nice, but i can say for almost 100% sure that Germany wont be there. Most of the germans will be in Cannes in march, so there wont be money for a 1500 Dollar trip left.

Nevertheless, good luck. Strange to see a starving SC Community in the US when the french people have like 70 people every 2 months :)
 
Man, I checked the prices for hotel rooms at the CP for that weekend, and it's $562.00 for Friday - Monday. I doubt many gamers will be staying there this time around. I also checked the prices for the ballin' rooms and its erm, over 4k per night lol. Mr Wizard did say that as of right now, there won't be any changes to the tourneys being held. I do suspect that SSF4 will be added of course. It's looking real good right now for SC4 to be on there again. Orlando in June, then Evo in July for SC4.
 
I'm sure there will be discounted rooms once everything is officially announced. Gamers ain't got money like that.
 
This is the thing tho.
I'm REALLY interested in going, jus cause it's Evo.
And now that the idea of a BYOC Tourney has been brought up I'm almost confirmed to go.
I also feel that people should look at it like this, ESPECIALLY, if they play Tekken as well. Cause you can go for T6, which is guaranteed to be at Evo this year, and play at the BYOC. It's a win-win in my opinion. And thats what I think I'm gonna be doing, especially since mah home dogz r gooooooiiiinnnnnn represent fuckaz!!!!!!
