FreeMeal's SC5 CAS

Thank you guys, you are all very generous with your compliments.

brucedge: Glad you like the new Artorias. I tried your suggestion, but I'll have to tinker with it further to make it work right. The extra parts are always so hard to control. I'll definitely give Havel and crystalline set a try.

Le_Bello: Same, glad you like Artorias. Another vote for Havel it seems.

KokoYoshi: That's a very flattering thing to say. I'm humbled and honored you like my stuff so much.

Gatsu: Whenever you decide to make new CAS, I look forward to it. Your stuff is always good.

Anyway, here's a small update:

Travis Touchdown V3:

He's my first CAS in SCV, so I always go back to him.

And a sneak peak for this week's contest:

Thanks again, everyone.

Alright, here's Havel, and someone else you might like.

Needless to say, using the pirate ship stage was a bad idea for photos. It was bobbing up and down, lol.
Do you think I should sacrifice Sigmeyer's shield to make more accurate body armor?

I'll try the crystalline set soon.

DAT HAVEL. DAT SIEGMEYER. OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN.

I wouldn't change the armour or the shield - It's instantly recognisable and the shield gives it that additional pop factor!

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you find most of these interesting. I took off the wings from egg armor. They were a neck item so I couldn't adjust them. He looks much better without them. I'll post a new pick sometime.

I'll try out the hood for Astorias and get back to you.

I might try some of the things you mentioned about the old contest CAS, but they are posted mostly for prosperity's sake. I'll look into it if I have some extra time, though! They don't really have back stories, they're based on a theme or specific CAS part.

Anyway, I decided not to drag things out and just post all of my old contest CAS:

Then the two old requests I did:

Woman from a Dynasty Warriors Game(?)
ibaW7vGqxLK3H3.png

Stephan from 'Tales of' Series(?)
ibomnkcEFrZCdO.png

That's all of it. Sorry to dump all of that at once. From now on it's all new stuff.

That is friggin badass how you used the zippers for the hemming of Stephen's costume, then separated the colors, lol tricky tricky.

Quality work on Havel and Siegmeyer......exemplary, really.

Definitely my faves of the dark souls set.

Thanks so much for the compliments, guys. I appreciate it.

Sorry for the long wait for a reply, I've been pretty busy.

Ishimaru Jinrai: Sigmeyer's helmet is actually using only 1 turtle shell. The top half is actually one of the head equipments. That's how I was able to make the shield with 2 extras.

As for Stephen's coat, that nearly drove me insane. Only 4 stickers to do that. Luckily I was able to use Basic Pattern 1 to finish it off, even if there's some purple showing through. I wonder if the person who requested it made out okay...

Anyway, here's my first attempt at the Crystalline Set:
iCcHCjS1ZxkQ9.png

i5piawntYGRkD.png

There's no real crystal shaped extra item, so angel feathers come the closest (for me). The bahu coat best emulates his lower half, but the top doesn't really match. Not only that, but stickers go on it terribly. So I used the wonder jacket mostly for the top shroud part.

Tell me what you think. I'm still not sure.

Smough and Ornstein both looking good, but HOLY MOTHER OF CHRIST!!! That crystalline set is totally FABULOUS (spoken in a lisp with a coquettish flick of the wrist)! No seriously though, those feathers make remarkably accurate crystals. The fleur-de-lis pattern works quite well, but if it's at all possible, you could replace the prints with some wispy/curly looking stickers. This will let you use the ethnic tiger pattern or the modern snowflake pattern to give the whole set a more weathered, grungy texture. I'm probably gonna make an attempt at it myself once I unpack my PS3 lol.

Using Batwings for the armor plate, damnit why didn't I think of that? It was driving me insane when I was making a Shanoa. Nice job dude 8D

Thanks, Donutman. Yeah I made her when I first got the game, and a year later I took one look at her and the idea sprang into my head. Funny how that happens.

I'll post some more stuff soon.

Thanks. Yeah the bat wings are so unworldly. Actually, I find that most 'pairs' extra items get their controls all screwed up if you don't rotate things in the right order. BUT I must say that the bat wings are up there with feathers of strength in terms of usefulness. They've definitely taken me far and made some seemingly impossible designs doable (to an extent).

Anyway, here's some more requests that I did in the meantime:

Here's the Shanoa formula. Made some alterations including replacing the Feathers of Strength with Bat Wings. It looks much better.
