Graduating from College?? HOLLA.

I'm so relieved it's finally OVER! So much hard work, but a lot of good times!

Anyway...

My degree is music composition, and for my senior project I had to write an orchestra piece. I ended up writing a short symphony in 5 movements (there were more, but I ended up cutting a lot of it because of a time crunch). It's 13 minutes long total.

Thoughtful Conversion

The piece is mainly about different abstract methods of persuasion. Namely seduction, imagination (inner), hypnosis, pity, and power.

My degree is a classical degree but I was leaning towards a film music style with this piece. If you are a fan of either, or have an attention span that will last through the piece, I'd love to hear what you think!

BTW, I just remembered I don't really know anyone on these boards anymore... I was Kenk on the old soulcalibur.com forums. I think some people I knew are still here. =)

Oh wow you were Kenk? I didn't even realize it, lol.

This piece is really nice. I won't pretend that I know anything about classical music, but I am a fellow music obsessive and I really enjoyed it.

I'm still workin on finishing school while working full time, congrats on making it through. Most importantly, good luck in your field, hope you're able to find success.

And yes I'm old enough to remember Kenk, lol.

Thanks everyone. The part that sucks now is that I'm working at a job I hate that has nothing to do with my degree... but it pays really well. At least for someone my age. During these trying! economic times...

Good to see some old faces! Are any of the other old-schoolers still around?

Kenk I remember you from the old SC2 forum. Congrats on graduating.

Which reminds me I also graduated from college; I was taking Game art and design in hopes of gaining knowledge about 3D modeling. So from that I learn the best methods of constructing certain 3D models as well as applying textures and making a low poly model look very detailed. I also had some experience with level design I was using this program called Unreal Editor to make Unreal 3 levels.

As of now I'm working on my portfolio and currently seeking for mods as they provide good practice to get into the gaming industry. I want to start off working as a level designer or 3D environmental artist before I build myself up to being Game Designer just like Shigeru Myamoto and Kojima.

Congrats on graduating. Now the real work begins! But if you can get through college unscathed, you pretty much got this, man.
