Just in case you guys didn't realise, we now have a section exclusively for videos! However, with such a system, there of course comes a series of guidelines that I am hoping the community will willingly comply with... If you have never seen the video directory before, you can visit it here: http://www.8wayrun.com/video.php. The video section will be monitored and moderated closely.
First of all, every video you add to the directory must be your own. And by this, I don't mean that you must have been the one who made the video; I mean the video MUST be on your video-service account. So if you are adding a video from YouTube, it must be a video located on your YouTube account. Any videos added to the directory that are not on that user's YouTube account, will be deleted without notice. This is due to various reasons, but mostly because of YouTube's arcane video deletion system.
Secondly, I have just added support for TAGGING and a TAG CLOUD! This makes it easier for people to scope out videos specific to certain characters. If you have added videos in the past, character usage tags have not been automatically added; you must go through all your videos and edit them yourself. Tags should be as accurate as possible; so only administrators and the owner of the video will be able to edit tags. Tags should stick to character usage only, since player names are listed in the titles and can easily be searched on their own.
Next... the video directory currently supports video from YouTube and YouTubeHD. If you would like me to add support for other video services, you are free to ask, and I will take them into consideration. If you have a YouTube video available in HD, and would like to add it to the directory in HD, simply change the HTTP in your link to HDEF. Don't do it with non-HD videos or you will break playback.
