Hilde: Q&A/General Discussion Thread

Runis

Doom Combo is Back!
tbh most people who use controllers just change the triggers to match their preferences

Mine is to have a seperate A on R1, seperate B on R2, L1 set to ABK and L2 as a seperate G
leaving the face buttons standard.

Most standard pokes(typical BBs/3Ks/2Bs): -13~15
AA, 4A, 2A, 3K, 66K

Less safe pokes: -16~18
2A+B, CE, C2A

Big slow things or Aeon's typical pokes: -20+
3BA -> C1B, 3B BE, C3BA

Hilariously unsafe things (Algol 623B or 33AB, Aeon's B+K or SW K): -37~40 or worse
lol C4A or 22B

Basic JG rule of thumb. When in doubt just CE or 2A+B and hope it works or do 2A/3K/66K/nothing and turn the frame advantage into something useful, like a CH 6AKB or bait a whiff or C2A to interrupt attacks/movement.

well that doesnt explay anything
i mean this is must be the most useless GI in game cause it must have justframe timing, cause i cant Gi a shit with it

It just means the moves you're trying to GI either come out faster or slower than the GI window. Also you could be trying to GI moves that don't get GI-ed by 3A (like stabs, highs/lows, body attacks as the frame data says). There is no JF input required.

you couldn't be any more wrong lol, it's one of the best aGI in the game! you can only GI attacks that don't stab (like rugi's 4B)and aren't body attacks (not necessarily kicks, just attacks that use the body like hilde's 2A+B or asta's bullrush).obviously you have to time it so that you get the GI and it takes some practice, but it's an invaluable tool for me.

it's really useful when people get careless with their strings. some of the easy examples of what you can aGI are ivy's 22BBBB, asta's 66AB, rugi's 1AB, etc.

No charge GIs mids from frames 3 to 12, charged version GIs from 3 to 17. That's one of the best GI windows in the game. It starts quite early, which gives you a lot of room when applying it, although you should delay it when using it at advantage.

Thank you guys! Wanna clear a bit:

attacks that don't stab - didnt really understand what is "to stab" in this case, cause the game is all about striking with knife, if "to stab" stands for "striking with blade, cut"

Is there a good script to use with aGI like other chars have? like Pyrrha`s or Patroklos scripts with aGi
e.g. for Hilde 66B - aGI? or 2A- aGI? some useful script in your opinion

no problem. stabs here are in the most literal sense. some easy examples are hilde's own 6BBB, raph's 66B, rugi's MIST BBB, pyrrha's 236B, etc. you can't aGI any of these attacks with hilde's 3A.

i can't really help on the second question though since i usually set up an aGI after a move. i usually only use 3A during strings or even yolo 3As ( i yolo it quite a bit actually lol).

A stab usually refers to attacks that hit you with the tip of the sword; notorious examples include Pyrrha/Omega's 236B, Patroklos' 66B and Mitsurugi's 4B.

Well 66B ~ aGI would be a good one. You generally want to use it when you're at disadvantage and if your opponent likes to try and get something in then. Don't be tempted by the charged version though; it is just-guardable. (Shouldn't stop you from using it once in a while though)

Although it might not look like it given how Leixia swings and stops her weapon during this attack, the second attack during her 66BB / 66BbB series is not a stab. It's vulnerable to mid level aGIs including Hilde's 3[A] which is sure to drive them mad because of how much damage Hilde's aGI leads to.

Can someone write a list of scripts for hilde in his opinion?

e.g. AA to block - how to follow up
or A+B into hit - what most safe and damagable option would be after

i'm not entirely sure what you mean by scripts, but i'll try my best.

i tend to throw out 2A+B after pretty much anything ( a little too much to be honest). it's fast, hit's mid so people can't duck it, and it's not too horrible on its recovery, and since it's a body attack it can't be aGI'd. it's my go-to move to kill stances like any of nightmare's or raphaels' for example.

A+B is a fun move to try and mix-up people. at the start of a match, i'll throw out some uncharged A+Bs to see if the opponent knows they can step/JG it or if they sit there and block it. if they just block it i'll then try to use some charged A+Bs to test it some more. if they keep blocking it, then i know i can just use A+B however i want. if they try to step/JG the attack then you can try to actually mix them up by training them to sit there (by using a bunch of uncharged A+Bs).

.......not even sure if anything i said was related to the qouted post lol.

…why not?
most, if not all, aGI's can't GI body attacks. body attacks are just attacks the use parts of the body to do damage (i.e. s headbutt, kick, punch, etc) . i think both pyrrha's aGI's can GI body attacks and maybe zwei's, but those have other drawbacks instead.

aPat A+B, Algol 623B, Cervy bA, Pyrrha/Oprah A+B, ZWEI 6A+B, and Ivy WR B+K aGI it.
Damp 1A, Maxi stance B+K, Pat A+B, Tira GS B+K, and Voldo BS B+K don't aGI it.

I find after a NH A+B it's best to back off and either approach/whiff punish with C2A or wait a bit longer for a whiff and go for C3BA.

NH A+B- A+B(catches step, but kinda risky), 66a (catches side step, but duckable),c1b(catches back step),22b( if they stand there and do nothing),CE( if they move at all after A+B it catches), A+B HOLD( you get it),2b+k( if they sit there and block, risky slow, wouldnt do this vs good people), 66b or 66b be( might catch step to the left, i gotta test)
