I wish players on PSN can play against those on XBL

Hmm, what did I just miss.
FFXI tried this, and it pretty much failed, it required for your character to made in a way on a specific server where it could be understood by both platforms. Now for a fighting game where you will be switching from XB, PS and mutual servers , there would be some awkward hurdles to jump. It would be possible, but there are enough issues to be against for now.

Nintendo was focusing on the 3DS at the time. They prioritised making sure PSVita was dead on arrival by releasing Mario Kart 7 (which sold 8mill) and Mario 3D Land(which sold another 9 mill) at the same time as PSV was released. They also moneyhatted Capcom for Monster Hunter exclusivity and released that to basically destroy any momentum PSVita might have had. I say that was a wise decision considering their limited resources.

So they had several releases that fall, only they had abandoned the Wii to focus exclusively on 3DS and WiiU development. Maybe they hoped 3rd parties would release games for their home console that fall, but they where mistaken.

Nintendo is and have allways been a Japan focused company. There they enjoy a 90% marketshare. From an international standpoint I can see where you're coming from. But enough of this silly "hating on Nintendo" bullshit you have going as we're so far off topic its stupid.

The only "Limited Resources" that they have is "Limited" because of an incompetent marketing department. When Far Cry 3 was going to come out, they had commercials, 90 second long trailers, Youtube advertisements. But with Wii-U, all they have is some guy speaking broken english showing gameplay during a 25 minute long video.

I can honestly say, if you look at profit margins, sales numbers, and market share value. The USA companies are beating the living shit out of Japanese publishers. Look at Capcom, such incompetence, they screwed up DMC so they won't even have a sequel, they ruined SFxTekken's image with the fans by trying to jump over dollars for pennies, they disbanded a bunch of their development teams due to a lack of sales, and they released a crap beta version for MvC3 which then the sequel didn't even sell 33% as well because fans were pissed! What a bunch of epic failures....

I know it's off topic to bash Nintendo, but this topic just got me thinking, why is Nintendo so incompetent that they couldn't even support a game system to play games like Soul Calibur 5, or online support? Not to mention how TERRIBLE the Wii was, they couldn't even give you game updates, you had to go online and physically download them. They even sometimes released console glitches updating the FIRMware by encoding them onto discs like Marior Bros RE: such so if you had a modded Wii, it would lock up your Wii making it unplayable for any other game.

Developers creating purposefully malicious glitches to break your console if it's modded? Yeah.... enough said in one sentence. Lol! Good way to deal with modders, break their consoles they paid money for.

Again you're thinking from a western standpoint. In Japan you can not go out in the street, you can not watch TV, you can not go on the internet without seeing a Nintendo commercial of sorts. In Europe and America they outsource marketing to a company called "Leo Burnett". They can do a good job when Nintendo spend $200mill on them. Like they did in 2006/2007. When they spend a fraction of that in 2012/2013 there is'nt much even they can do.

Most of the USA publishers have gone bankrupt(THQ Acclaim, Midway), with EA doing so poor they recently had to fire 2000 ppl. Only Take2, Betheseda, and Activision are making money. COD keeps Activision healthy, mainly. Without it, they'd be in trouble like everyone else in the games industry is. And in Europe Ubisoft is doing well. They are pretty much the only European publisher left, as everyone else went bankrupt. So the idea that only Japanese publishers are incompetent is'nt entirely true. Atleast they did'nt go bankrupt. Yet.

The WiiU play TTT2 just fine, online and offline. I'm sure it'd have played SC5 just fine. Unfortunately NamcoBandai decided not to release SC5 on the WiiU or they did'nt have the resources as NamcoBandai focused on a new Super Smash bros. game for that system.

As far as the Wii is concerned; its a budget console, allways was, and it made Nintendo more money than any system in their history except NDS. They made money while Sony lost money. Smart move by them. Only reason Sony was able to return to profitability this fiscal was because they sold off all their real estate and fired 20 000 ppl. I'd say: In a sea of incompetent games companies, Nintendo is by far the most competent.

Many things are wrong with JUST this paragraph alone:

1) Saying "Just from the Western standpoint" is a failure of a mentality to even say. USA's video game market is more than 3x as big as the Japanese game buyers market. If you aren't going to appease the Western game buyers, you mind as well admit you're not even competition for Sony and Microsoft.

2) The Nintendo Wii-U is just barely selling more than Wii's are. Not only that, 2012 christmas sales, the Xbox (a console out for a number of years already) more than doubled the sales for the BRAND NEW Wii-U. That's a complete and utter failure, no matter how you look at it. Failure, failure, failure. You can't even say that your just recently developed console got it's ass kicked by an 8 year old console isn't a failure. Again, Nintendo's marketing department failed to get fans hyped, or give out information.

3) Japan is NOT going to be outsourcing to outside of Japan for a while now. Mainly due to the weakening of their currency, Yen. When a countries currency is weak it's good to export, and not import. Now that their currency is losing value compared to the USD, they'll make more money than last year by selling to American game buyers. It's just basic financial economics. Why pay UK or USA developers rising costs in their increasingly expensive currency, when you can keep your cost low by just paying Japanese developers in a currency that is losing value? It's just basic math, it saves money.

(By the way, you think Ubisoft if the only major European developer? Did you forget about Dice? Uhh... BF3 anyone?)

LOL!!!!! Did you really just type that? Is that why the Xbox 360 sold more than double the sales units over the new "EPIC" release of the Wii-U on the most profitable time of year? Sounds like a failure to me.

Last fiscal year--

Nintendo's total profit was 73 million dollars.

Activision Blizzard's total profit was 1.150 BILLION dollars. (That's more than 15 times as much as Nintendo.)

Look it up online, and the ironic thing is, Nintendo has way more revenue than Activision Blizzard. To put that in perspective Activision makes about 21% profit total revenue, whereas the incompetent Nintendo only makes 1% profit off total revenue. Which means they're barely making money.

See the thing you are forgetting Kamiaka, is that 'sales' do not equal "profit". As an example, I could start selling $1 dollar bills for only 90 cents, and make tons of sales! But I'll lose money each time. You're basically glorifying that mindset. Wii-U got outsold by an 8 year old console of more than double the units sold. So much for the "most competent game company".
 
List of Wii-U's failures by Nintendo:

1) Wii-U was rushed out the door, so rushed, in fact, that when you bought it, you couldn't even use the console until you went online and physically had to download the FIRMware. They were factory making consoles that didn't even have the software yet to be playable.

2) Wii-U failed to even show anything about how the online system would work up until 1 WEEK PRIOR to Black Friday rush. (The most important game sales time of year.)

3) Wii-U's biggest hard drive is 32 GB of saved data. My xbox360 has 350 GB of saved space! I don't know, that's like what.... 11 times bigger than the Wii-U's? Not to mention the FIRMware takes up 20% of your overall saved space JUST to play the friggin console! What a massive failure.
