I wanted a CaS of my main style on my second file and as it turned out, I wanted to use the Baihu Coat. This was good for me, as I haven't been able to come up with ideas for any originals in a very long time. The character isn't exactly original; it's really just an alternate for one of my other originals. However, I wanted to make something that was closer in style to her SC4 outfit.
- The Baihu Coat has some pretty cool sleeves. The big problem with them, though, is how they take on a very exaggerated funnel shape towards the opening, so your options are to leave their awkward shape be, cover them up altogether with appropriate arm equipment, or use the Cropped Jacket to narrow the width of the opening, as shown here.
- Two pairs of Feathers of Strength are used here as shoulder armor. A stripe pattern was applied to the bottom part to simulate the cords and tassels seen on the shoulders of old military-style jackets.
- The Baihu Coat is a big piece to work with, so in some sense, it does limit options. However, I found it to be very conducive to coloring/patterning/sticker work. It's like a canvas for your CaS. Here, I used denim pocket stickers on the front and back. The front sticker serves to differentiate between the upper and lower body. The back sticker draws attention to the back curvature of the CaS' figure. An inverted star sticker gives a border and adds detail to the coattails while the wings sticker does the same to both the coattails and the side.
- A belt was used to bring in the sides of the Baihu Coat, making it more form-fitting.
- Finally, the white and gold European pattern was applied to the Mini Dress in order to impart a gold border at the bottom of the skirt.

Well it's the 9th (date) from where am at, so I guess I'll just start with my vote:
I saw a lot of good entries utilizing the Baihu coat, all of them look great. Yet sadly I am to choose one, it was a tough decision but my vote goes to chobek with his knight, robot-like soul (I don't know what it is). I've never seen anything quite like this, it is truly a creative and unique design, makes my Philosopher look like a bag of bones (which he is).
Gatsu's entry was, like always, amazing, inspiring, and very creative, I hope to see his future entries.
HolyCarp's elven designs look good, even his entry, kinda motivates me to finally make an elf soul.
I like Mistakoo's Captain Marley design, she kinda reminds me of Ivy in a Pirate-like outfit.

With all that out of the way, my vote goes to...
chobek: The apparent automaton is amazing and the pantsless damsel dazzling. The mummy undergarment on the automaton and the sticker usage on the damsel are superb touches.
DJdoubleB: Vision is quite a unique design, the use of accessories to adjust its shape is lovely; though the colors feels a bit dull. Yin Yang makes me think of the blind guy from ST:TNG fell into one of those numerous space-time anomalies that plagued the series(lolol Star Trek) and found himself in medieval Japan. Astrid is just simply lovely, another of those item combinations that sounds bad on paper but very clearly works well when they are implemented by someone with a good eye for design.
Donut: I like the ideas utilized in the creation of Nathan, but there are just too many ideas and they don't mix well together. Mixing ideas together is indeed a good way to come up with something differen, but you'll be able to do better if you try perfecting one idea at a time and going forward from there. That said, you're definitely improving. I'm looking forward to the day your CAS are good enough for me to cease reminding you of Dante Scissorhands ;)

Infinitely better than my attempt at the same thing, haha. Faust definitely feels like the weaker of the two entries, but still the colors and stickers tie everything together quite well. Random, useless tidbit: I swear I've seen that exact same character(Faust) on XBL o_O
Koo: Marley is a fine pirate captain concept, but I feel that the colors may be a bit sub-par. Lakisha is very good, the use of accessories to make it a more skimpy item is pretty clever I must say.
rdmunhoz: I can't put my finger on it, but it just feels like Vincent is lacking something. Regardless, the concealed pistol is a great touch and really adds a surprising amount of characterization to him. How many more weapons is he concealing? I hope I don't have to find out!
Pocky: Disco Jim is quite a unique design, but the amount of effort put into it is visible as well. It definitely has potential nonetheless, though. The Hilde and Siegfried customs, however, look quite regal and are definitely a step more in the right direction.
ThePascuzzi: Celia is nice! The retexturing with the stickers is easily my favorite aspect of the design, though there is much more to like. Definitely one of the stronger entries.

chobek. The automaton and damsel are just great. I feel like I'm cheating with only being able to vote for one though, since so many of the others are just as lovely(and as much as I hate the thought of sounding like the kind of tool that happily gives everyone participation medals, I mean it with the utmost sincerity).

This was a good round. A lot of good ideas were shown in many of the entries. However, we each only get one vote, so first, I'll address some points of CaS I would vote for this round, then announce my choice.
DJdoubleB - Astrid
- Well placed denim pocket and phoenix stickers give interesting details to the coat in key places around the CaS' figure.
- Usually, when a big sticker on the upper body doesn't color-match the equipment, the result is some kind of awkward color fading. Interestingly, the effect isn't awkward here, which is accountable to smart color coordination.
- The combination of the mask and the Bong-Seon Circlet makes a very nice crown.
MistaKoo - Captain Marley
- The red and gold color scheme is very pleasing to the eye.
- I like the use of stickers to impart a gold border on the vest. It helps it fit even better with the Baihu Coat.
- Color-blending the vest with the coat sleeves was a great decision.
- Using the checkered European pattern to add detail to the center flap is clever. I wish I'd thought to do that with my entry.
Pocky-Yoshi - King Siegfried of Ostrheinsburg and Queen Hilde of Wolfkrone
- The Baihu Coat combines surprisingly well with armor to yield a robes-and-armor look that's fit for royalty.
- The soft patterning on the coat adds to the royal aesthetic.
- The snakes going around the hips with the helmet ornament on the center flap of the coat is an interesting construction. I think it could use some tweaking, but it definitely has potential and even adds some unique flavor to these CaS as it is.
- I was also expecting Siegfried and Hilde to be a canon pair, but I guess Hilde's SCIV ending isn't much to go off of in the first place.

- The coloring/patterning/stickerwork on this CaS is fantastic. Crimson, dark purple, and gold really go well together. I like the color differentiation between the top and bottom of the coat. The phoenix sticker is placed well and the middle torso would look amazing if a belt was used to bring in the sides of the coat.
- The similar coloring on the center flap of the coat and the item visible under the coat makes one think they are part of a separate article of clothing, perhaps a vest. Very clever.

MistaKoo for his Captain Marley. Even though there's not as much happening on the coat here as in other entries, the way he paired it with the vest makes up for the relative lack of detail while letting the part still do what it's supposed to do. I dunno, maybe I just like short jackets over long coats too much.

I have been back and forth looking at this thread all day trying to decide ... once again a tough decision... these contests are getting tighter and tighter.
