Is SC 4 broken?

Ok, I have a friend who gave up soul calibur very early in the game. And he start saying SC 4 was broken, and doesn't take much skills. So my question to everyone is do you think Soul calibur 4 is broken? To me this is my asnwer......

Hell to the fucking no the game isn't broken!!!!!
 
Your friend sounds like a scrub. I'd probably stop being friends with him....if I were you.

'Broke' is a pretty relative term. Is that the concensus? No. Do we have to justify why we play to every jerk who is ignorant to the game and it's finer workings? No.

The only thing you can give people is your honest opinion, and give THEM the choice to educate themselves. If they are unwilling to hear you out, they are not worth you time, move on. Idiots don't stop being idiots, even if you ask nicely.

there are people who think they know how to play because they had a look at a movelist and can pull of some moves then proceed to get demolished by a button masher, who can also pull off loads of moves due to the large movelists with simple execution.

Not really.

I mean, one of my friends was showing that it was possible to use Yoda effectively (he's a huge fighting game player) and he was killing us but at the same time he spent a lot of the match explaining where Yoda's holes and shortcomings exist.

I managed to have some pretty good and FAIR matches in this game and all the people I was playing with had fighting game talent.
 
Also his XBL gamertag is Kageuchi if you want to fight him. And also if yo start beating him, please be careful because he start to suck your cock. He did it to me, offbeatninja, and skull maru. And chacha I stop being friends with him after that anyway, so thank you for the warning.
 
lol I played Kageuchi the other day, he whined and ragequit after I started beating him, because he won the first two matches with some dicey Setsuka online set ups. Then I adjusted.

But it's funny that is the kid you are talking about, because he INSISTED that online play was as good as offline play, and that there is no difference in the two. Which made me lolz more, and just pissed him off.

Like I said man, some kids won't listen to reason....simply because they don't want to. Personally I hope that kid quits, he's just online trash.

sc4 isn't broke...there is just a shit-ton of shenanigans. To me a game isn't broke unless people are figuring out unlimited combos and instant ring outs and glitches and so forth.

if you want a game that is truly balanced, pick up a copy of virtua fighter 5.
 
if i had a friend who insulted a game i play like that then i would likely punch him in the scrotum, take his booze, and go home.
 
Broken? No. Frustrating? Absolutely. I find it incredibly frustrating to play against spammers and button mashers, mainly because I cannot play my normal game against them. When I am trying to do actual combos and difficult moves, they just keep throwing fast A's at me and interrupting. Now in a match against a normal player, this does not bother me, because that is what they should be doing. However most spammers and mashers are not actually doing combos and they just keep doing the same moves over, and over, and over the entire match. The annoyance then skyrockets when they start doing it with a character like Taki, who has the fastest A in the game (9 frames IIRC). You cannot grab them because at any given time they are pressing more or less all the buttons, guard impacting online is a gamble at best with lag spikes, and you are forced to just block and punish while trying to guess what direction to block (because even they don't know what they are throwing at you next).

I do really like SC4, don't get me wrong, but I also however think that button mashing and spamming can take you a lot further than it really should be able to in this game. Especially when played online.

Theres all kinds of infintes and plenty of dumb ring outs.... The game isnt broken but it defintely could stand for an update.... Kaguechi or whatever his name is , i mean hes aight but he isnt high level... he just thinks hes good cause he learned a couple combos that nobody does online with setsuka and taki.... which is nothing in offline play because people do way sicker stuff then he can think of, His taki is nice though but once you figure out his set ups he's pretty repetitive with both taki and setsuka , CY i'd just ignore him
