Lag Lows

Peace to all

Yo I'm just a casual online SC4 player.. i was playing with some people earlier and was told i use too many "lag lows". I didnt even know what that meant to be honest, and i didnt even know i was doing anything wrong. Im just trying to figure out how i can avoid using these "lag lows", the people i played with said i should only use certain moves on tech traps. Im not familiar with all the technical terms as i just play the game to have fun. i just want to get better at this game... any help is appreciated. feel free to inbox or reply here.

Since SC4 online regularly featured a lot of lag, a certain amount moves that were hard to react to online were considered "lag lows" and that you shouldn't use them.

Examples are:
Ivy SW22_88K
Ivy WP 1B
Setsuka 2A+B (I think?)
Amy 2A+B

Probably Sophitia's 1AAA too.

Omg.. O_o;; SC4's online was usually lagged to hell, you did more "predicting" then you actually did "reacting" but most players who were good usually would religiously low guard everything, so I'd take advantage of that and they'd get hit non-stop by mid attacks.

Amy's 3B twirl cancel combo was my favorite to encounter in a 3 bar connection... -__-;; And when I say "favorite" I mean I despised it!

Try to only play players with a 5 bar connection, then you'll encounter minimal lag and you can react to most moves and guard impact.

I believe it's 2B+K and christ yes, it was hard to block.
My recommendation is to not play SC4, and get 5.
Yes, that's one as well but I believe 2A+B was also considered a lag low even though it was relatively slow.

Amy's 2B+K was already really difficult to block offline so it's not really a lag low.

Mitsu's 1A is probably the best example of a low move that becomes really strong when there is delay between input and what shows up on the screen.

Right.

I started off with SCIV, and I'll tell you right now... Play however you like. Anyone still playing SCIV online at this point in time deserves what comes to them.

If you are having fun with SCIV, continue having fun with it, and care not what others say. Continue to sweep them if it pleases you, and if they tell you you shouldn't, sweep them some more.

I believe it's 2B+K and christ yes, it was hard to block.
No- Amy's 2A+B, a horizontal tripping low. Once upon a time I was called out for using it. And it was right here, on these very forums...

Lag lows don't exist in SCV. If those people are interested in "playing correctly", tell them to spend $20.

Honestly, SCIV online was horribly shitty to begin with, so I've yet to know why everyone took it seriously, especially some people from here.

I dunno, if I decide to play SCV online, the best connection I get is a 3 bar and shit like A-Pats 11A and Omega's 1K are basically unreactable on that Kappa

Oh and people mix-up Ivy's 1K and 3B on a 1-2 bar and think it's legit too btw.
