Yoshi is my main but Maxi is my 2nd and will most likely take that main spot as yoshi is ass in this game...

Yeah in those vids, Im playing very, "flowchart-ish". Ive been so busy with hot rod projects Ive barley had time to play a whole lot. Been enjoying everyone elses glory for the moment....LOL. Also, I hate maxi mirrors!!

I dunno if you and I are BFF's on PSN yet. If that stick comes in today then you need to get your ass a copy of SCV and I will make some time for you tonight!!

He ain't so bad imo. Gotta work for that damage though, still got a good poke game. I think eventually as people learn to JG more efficiently and defense gets more prominent we'll see patient poke based characters doing better.
 
here's another vid, this one of the seattle monthly dante's tourney. there's quite a bit of footage in here but i only got two matches recorded, imo the important one being the GF against cam's algol. algol has a few pretty dirty tricks, and if he has meter his jumping stance is pretty good against maxi's strings, so i thought i'd post this up to show some dos and don'ts. the GF matches start at 1:32:20.

This is a pretty good reference for Algol. Thank you very much. You handled it very well.Very solid gameplay.

I was surprised to see how you made Maxi win some rounds even when Algol was apparently winning since the beginning.

I wish the Algol played didn't eat so much 2A+B. I think it helped you just in some situations.

fhwoarang: yeah, algol has some tricky stuff but overall his damage is somewhat low unless he spends a lot of meter at once (1.5 meters for the full BE jump bubble -> throne combo, or 2 meters for the super throne CE). maxi's damage is pretty high on the other hand, so even when behind he can make some good comebacks. in cam's defense regarding 2A+B, i think the only one that he got hit by where i didn't catch him stepping, teching, or attacking was the very last one, and i think that was mostly just him being overly fearful of 6A+B.

really important to playing against algol is to be aware of his BT B+K (the wings) after hitting him with 66A, be aware of his meter situation and play much more conservatively when he has high meter, and be aware that a lot of his lows are either only very slightly - on hit or actually + on hit (i think it's his 1K that's +, similar to pat's). also, if you yomi that the algol will try to space you with a high bubble then 22(B) will generally beat it out for good damage. lastly, my reflexes are fairly poor as fighting game players go, but if you can react to his jumping stance then 6A+B will beat all options from far range, although at mid range he can use the flip bubbles to go over you and punish, which will lead into his full BE jump bubble -> throne combo if he has enough meter.
 
Damn that was some great Maxi gameplay, really enjoyed it.

Im a noob so i dont have much to comment but i think Algol's 1k is actually +0 on hit, and his antistep isnt good, so im seeing most algols use 2A after it, the guy in the video used 2A after it aswell.

6A+B BE should > Algol's BT B+K (range boost). If it doensn't TC try 6A, which should stop it as well and give u a nice NCc. Or you could've 88A him since the range is just perfect for that ;)

vs Yoshi, you should duck that doorknocker and punish with WS B, or better yet 6A+B BE
 
qeru: yeah, cam used that 2A a lot to cut my step and make me pay for gambling with 6A+B interrupts.

johnny: yeah, my anti-yoshi knowledge is a bit weak at the moment. vs BT B+K the best option might be to bait it and then 66B>LI A since that combo is pretty good damage for either 0 or 1/2 meter. 6A+B BE would probably beat it in most situations as well though.
 
Jaggypoo looked really uncofortable in those matches for some reason. I think his lack of chipping was costing him. You need to get in those 1Ks and FC 3As. Saitoh played really well and did just that. Take your chips! Maxi's NEED to use FC 3A way more.
That was a solid as hell Mitsu. Some really bad luck for Saitoh though heh heh...shit happens :)
 
mitsu's hurtboxes have been doing that random shit since SCIV at least :/ really good stuff from jag and saitoh, though! don't forget to 66B+K after getting the WL GI :>
 
Wake up opportunities through looping. I sometimes get them to block LI(B) when they tech, but it is interruptable unfortunately. I land a good few LO Ks too. Also i don't find 66B+K sexy ay all
