Messing in fashion

Forgot to post this. Meilin Chen. New look as a self proclaimed Pop Idol of Asia.

Design notes?

The scrapped idea of Soul Calibur Xianghua
SOULCALIBUR™Ⅵ_20200220221006.jpg

All I did is tweak it a bit to resemble those pop idol gals of Korea, Japan, and China. At the same time, I kept it animu because that's her appeal. Don't let her cute looks fool you, she is materialistic and narcissistic like Lucky Chloe. I'll get to posting villains like Horus and other characters another time.

Quickies.

Yun Cha aka Xianghua dressed as Yun Seong. Would of done Hwang, but I was getting stumped on that.

Now to move on to two major villains that will accompany Ichiro in my fictional story Ancient Winds. Ones that will never die because then the plot would be lost. Batman always against joker, Sonic versus Eggman, etc.

First up, I try my hand at an aristocrat psychopath. The only style that could help is Ivy. This is the wench who pulls the strings due to her aristocratic influence. She will play dirty and manipulate. In other words, she's the aristocratic thot.
Name is Henrietta Holdsworth.

Design notes? Inspired by Castlevania and Ivy from SC series.

Next up is Mummy Horus or Undead Horus. A prodigy sorcerer/warrior who is the antagonist in my story Ancient Winds. However, this is him being resurrected thanks to Henrietta. He isn't at full power yet. This CAS is an old idea that was inspired by Azazel from Tekken 6, but I decided to bring it to SCVI.

Design notes. It's tailored to look like my Horus design in SCV. Just tweaked to look kinda undead. Inspiration that helped was some Mummy American-Canadian cartoon I'll never watch Mummies Alive. Zas style works because undead Horus is supposed to look sorcerer-esque/Warrior-esque.

I like it: the Castlevania influence is immediately obvious. I really like the work on the mask, gauntlets, and especially the backside of the cloak. As for notes, five things stand out to me from a broad view, in terms of what I would do if this was my own creation and I was pausing at this point:
  1. I'd work with more patterning on the blouse to narrow the amount of white showing: the current contours make that patch a little too dominant, drawing the eye to least detailed part of the design: reducing the amount of white on display to about 60% of present, in a narrower strip in the middle would make the dark Dracul vibe more dominant and I think make her look more sleek in general, in the way of those darker themed Castlevania characters;
  2. I would bring some of the gold from the back into the design on the front--just in framing/highlight locations; this two is prototypical of the art design for the afore-mentioned kinds of characters and would add a little more colour depth (and I think maybe realism) to the front of the design;
  3. I'd change the brown on the tasset on the front. I often use brown there too (or a mixed pattern with an overall brown feel), in order to simulate leather, but with this design, I'd consider leaving it with a tough farbic look in order to use one of the dominant colours (probably red, given this context, maybe black). In fact, I'd consider removing the brown from the design altogether, or just using a darker brown for the forearm armor and side portions of the boot.
  4. I'd make the necktie black, red, or gold, or some combination thereof. Probably solid gold, but with with a two-tone pattern for subtle texture, similar to what you are already utilizing.
  5. Is she a vampire? If so, consider giving her some fangs or a trickle of blood. The second is a little cliche, I will grant, but will make her menacing all the same. I think fangs would look even better, and not at all campy, given the inspiration here.
Again, that's all just firing from the hip--I hope that doesn't come off as too presumptuously detailed and specific relative to the kind of notes you were hoping for.

This is current Horus in SCVI. If Devil Jin style emphasized his warrior side, Azwel emphasized his sorcerer side. He's supposed to be that villain that is tough to defeat.

Design notes. Basically a dark skinned and serious Azwel. It's an idea though. Why his face looks a bit effeminate is because, I personally believe anti-christ peeps are usually attractive for both sides to manipulate them into doing wrong. He's not into guys tho. Henrietta is faithful to Horus because both want to conquer the world and so on.

Crown to emphasize dominance, gold to emphasize royalty, purple for more royalty, Azwel style because villains need to look like villains.

No the feedback is welcomed. I'll make sure to try to fix her.

My creative juices are spent unfortunately. Another time to share, another day. Until next time.
