Missing character discussion

Setsuka-It's going to really suck seeing her go. I miss everything about her: her geisha/oiran-inspired attire, her weapon, her stages, and that "onna bugeisha" personality. However, SCIV was proof enough that PS didn't know what to do with Setsuka, or any character for that matter. I honestly couldn't get used to Patroklos replacing her (I still don't), but this does leave a possibly of it being only one S&S user in the next game: Pyrrha.

Seong Mina-I loved her personality the most and her attire, but it was pretty evident that she was placed on the sidelines HARD. She spent nearly 3 games looking for Yun-Seong, and since PS felt that her family was horrible at teaching her the longsword style, they figured that Seong Mina was more suitable being taught by Edgemaster to fight like Kilik, and then some. It was obvious that Seong Mi-Na had ran her course. I'm going to miss her though.

Taki-Same situation as Seong Mi-Na. She had potential, but PS really ruined it. I find Natsu to be a worthy upgraded successor for her, and a cheap one at that.

Cassandra-She was good in SC2, until all they made her out to be was a scantily clad, and bouncy version of Sophitia. I'm not going to miss her that much. If she does appear, I hope she has had some maturity.

Sophitia-To have such a major character die in a gruesome, but heroic fashion, really makes me cry. *tear*. It really is interesting though that she has died, so it could affect her children in a corrupt, or somber way. I am going to miss her though. Sophitia "I will never forget you."

Yun-Seong-Not saying good-bye to him just yet.

Talim-Same as Yun-Seong.

Zasalamel-Same as Talim and Yun-Seong.

Rock-Bangoo..........enough said.
*tears up with you * ; ^ ;

Since I'm feeling particularly uninhibited...

Needz moar Zasalamel DLC. Less bling, more reaper, should come with a stage that randomly creates/removes walls and changes it's boundaries(only a certain distance away from characters so there's no chance of the ground suddenly vanishing out from under someone) every...ten seconds.

I'd absolutely love to see Bangoo in there. I imagine that he'd fight something like a mix between Astaroth and Nightmare, swinging around a fucking huge axe and doing a lot of scooting, getting airtime, etc.

Who else played SCII for this guy?

This. I got into SCII when I heard Link was in the Gamecube version and the rest was history.

I played Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast before I did Soul Blade in the arcade, and then went from there, though I admit that it was fun to beat the shit out of fangirls who only used Link when I finally did play Soul Calibur II on Gamecube. I had it myself on PS2, but one of my frequent visitors had the Gamecube version, and he almost always brought it over. Watching his sister squeal in outrage when I landed an Earth Divide on Link was probably the highlight of my experience on those times, and it still tickles me to think of it.

It's funny how the main reason why they deleted or replaced so many characters is the story. And almost all the characters I (and pretty much anyone with common sense) expected when the game was first announced didn't show up :(. I wanted/expected to see:
  • Patroklos
  • Bangoo
  • Old YunSeong (Lau Chan style character)
  • Adult Talim (hot priestess character, like Taki)
  • Grand master Taki.
  • Zasalamel.
  • Adult Amy.
  • Setsuka's apprentice -kind of got her him... but no umbrella :(
  • Sophi-mare/Pyrrha O.
Out of 8 characters, only three showed up, two in a way different than expected. Viola as Amy doesn't count.

^Pretty much what you said I was also thinking of, but in a different fashion/reasoning, and some additions:
  • Patroklos (One of the true "next generation" characters. Obviously they were going to include him in)
  • Pyrrha/Pyrrha O. (One of the only things PS got right that I really wanted. Plus she is a another true "next-generation" character)
  • Li Long/Chie's child (I wanted a daughter, but a son is good too, so he can replace Maxi. >:))
  • Bangoo (He's Bangoo....duh. Plus I wanted him in to replace that overrated Astaroth)
  • Older YunSeong (Development reasons)
  • Adult Talim (Same as Yunseong)
  • Adult Hilde (She lacked in development on SC4, and only appeared in one game. Funny enough she doesn't appear at all in SCV's story)
  • Taki, or a replacement (if Taki, burn the skin tight bodysuits, and stick to a more traditional approach. If they wanted a kunoichi/ninja to wear a bodysuit, then the replacement was recommended)
  • Older Zasalamel, or Zasalamel Reincarnated
  • Adult Amy (To replace Raphael)
  • Setsuka's female apprentice (Outcome in SCV was s***ty in my opinion, but it will finally lead to only one S&S user)
  • Kilik's Replacement/Seong Mina's Replacement (Outcome in SCV turned out good style-wise, but not so much personality-wise)
  • Xianghua's replacement/child I was also thinking PS would try to do, and sure enough they did. I am pleased with the outcome though.
Then I wanted maybe 2 or 3 new styles from other new characters. Z.W.E.I. is good, but the focus shouldn't be entirely on E.I.N. It should be about the sword. Viola is good as well, but it still left Raphael in the game.

DLC/SC6 story idea: Taki goes on a journey to find Sophitia and Cassandra, enlisting Talim and Zasalamel's help!

And Talim brings Yun Sung and Seung Mina along with her, coming across Rock along the way.

It could happen! Yeah.. and I'm a Chinese Jet Pilot >_<

i miss taki SO MUCH that i brought her to SF4 AE
I apologize if I asked before but why do you miss Taki? What's so bad about Natsu? I can understand a little because I mained Taki when I started playing SC. So I miss her a bit too, I remember the days of me preferring quick characters over powerful ones. :D
