Missing character discussion

Probably Talim, everyone loves her. Even though i don't really get the love, there's not much to her other than wind.

Talim <3
This is just my personal opinion but I like everything about her. Personality wise, she's a compassionate sweet-heart and she's brave, for leaving her village to go out into the world to save it. She's reluctant to fight and prefers to resolve issues without fighting, but she will stay strong and fight if that's the only way. "Some things can only be conveyed through battle."

I like the mystical but exotic design she has. All of her clothes are just so beautiful and unique. They're creative and I'm especially fond of green hair :3

As for her fighting style, I love her transition moves and it's so much to play with her. There's no one else that I liked to play with except for Zwei (and Raph in the past).

But the most popular character, I would have to say Ivy. She's very well known like Nightmare, Mitsu and she's practically a symbol of the series. She's on the cover many times and practically in all the games. Her style is widely praised and she's always been a great character to play as. Oh yea... and another thing to support how popular and well known she is is this thing. That they used to promote SCV with. (>*_*) I guess I understand why she's so popular...

Yeah but look at the personality on Ivy, now that's a developed character. Kappa

Haha Talim, indeed she in one of the two most importent characters in Soul Calibur. You guys would never guessed which character is the other one.

Ivy is famouse because she is sexy, and yes she is popular in world wide, but she is not the other most importent character.

Lol, she's supposed to be a distant and closed off woman, with a sense of arrogance and abit of a domineering attitude due to certain things. Being adopted and raised by the Valentine nobles, she would have that haughty attitude and since she knows Cervy Beard is her father, she's a malfested, and her adopted dad lost it and died for his research of SE, she is quite distant. She also adopted a Machiavellian attitude by killing everyone (and I mean everyone) that is infected with Soul Edge's taint (SC2).
She's an incredibly strong woman though. Knowing she's malfested, she took a vow of chastity so her powers won't infect another victim. And despite all that she's been through, she never wavered and she has always pushed onward. When Cervy Beard devoured half her soul, she kept on going by fusing herself with a manufactured soul and defeated him in SCIV. Even her SC4 ending was quite impressive, as she's willing to die to end SE. Combined with the fact she's a talented and intelligent alchemist, Ivy isn't quite as dull as you think =3
*In fact, I can't really think of any char that has a dull personality. Maybe Mitsu and Amy though.

But you were talking about who's the most popular char in your previous post, not who's most important.
And as much as I love my little wind priestess, I can't say she's important as she had no effect at all on the storyline. Her importance may stem from her purifying abilities and from the fact she's one of the few characters that has the goal of saving the entire world since she loves everything about it, both good and bad. It's not perfect but she accepts and treasures it for what it's worth (unlike cough-Raph-cough new world yeaaaaa). But so far, she's not important. As evidenced by her removal (>T_T)
For important characters, the ones who wield the soul swords are the most important ones. After all, the game is all about them, so their wielders are the most important characters. Other chars are important if they contribute to the story, such as Ivy who helped awaken SC powers for Patty Cakes, or Zwei, who chose him to be the sword's wielder and killed Nighty.

Really anyone who is a malfested is important to the story, or else there would be not much of a plot.

If you are referring to who is the most popular character in the series.....it was either Sophitia or Taki. Now it's Ivy.

Oh... Ok x)
I'm kinda clueless when it comes to these things (>**)

Viola...Lol, but I suppose she could have been important if 3/4 of the story wasn't cut out, since it was directly stated she was going to play a major role.

Funny how all three of those ladies have really.... erm... nice curves lol.

That's another reason why they were popular....

But Setsuka....not so much. Only now is when she got popular, because she is now replaced with a guy. A rather arrogant one might I add.

I think that Setsuka was more popular in her debut. But Tira definitely got the more popular of the three newcomers in that game and I can understand why. She had a very innovative and creative weapon style and her ambiguous personality to boot. :)

You've never heard the term personalitits? This is the interwebs after all.

(>O.O) Nope, not really. It's kinda funny cuz I was really sheltered growing up (still sorta) and it was only when I got into uni and joined 8wayrun, that I've picked up new terms. Like, I just learned what yolo meant two weeks ago cuz a friend gave up on a question and put that on his paper besides some kind of smiley face for an answer lol.

If we wanted to see the most popular characters, couldn't somebody start a poll? Wait, has that never been done before? Not that I've seen anyways. Sorta surprising.

I'd guess Mits, Ivy, Nightmare, Astaroth, Siegfried, Taki, and Sophie. And maybe Tira?

Don't feel bad, Darkwings, I am too. XD Leads to a lot of times when you sort of just smile, nod your head and pretend you understand what the hell everyone else is talking about.

Although, I do have the fortunate habit of making incorrect assumptions about things and making a fool of myself in a way that people think I'm actually making a clever joke. Which leads to everyone laughing and saying "good one" while I nervously chuckle, wondering what the hell I said.

Yeah... You're probably right, did any ever do a statistic survey about the most popular character in America or Europe? The company did a survey before in Asia.......

My list of most popular characters (based on advertisement):
Voldo- on front cover of first console game in Europe, not to mention he has been in EVERY VERSION of Every Game up til today.

Mitsurugi- took front and center in the PlayStation cover everywhere else.
Siegfried- canon-wise beat the final boss
Sophitia- was on the side of the arcade cabinet along with Mitsurugi on the "Soul Edge" machine.

Kilik, Xianghua- on Soul Calibur were new characters AND were the 1p and 2p cursors defaulted on the two.

Talim and Raphael- two premier characters in SCII that weren't descendants nor successors of characters from the previous game. Ivy- this was her time to shine from here onward. She later became a Soul Calibur mascot since SCII.

Mitsurugi, Zasalamel, Tira: All were on the SCIII cover? (not to sure, I do not own the game) Z and Tira were the 1p and 2p cursor default starts.

Sieg, Rugi, Taki, Ivy, Voldo, Astaroth-- all on Soul Calibur Legends

Nightmare, Ivy (again), Sieg and newcomer Hilde)- on the cover and cursor default starts.
(I'll skip SCBD)

Soul Calibur V : (Pat, Pyrrha, Ivy, Mitsu, and Siegfried) first 5 characters to be announced for the game.

Apart from the subject, between Mitsurugi, Voldo and Taki, who has had the most appearances in the games? <-Trivia

Taki and Mitsu are tied up, since some copies of Soul Blade Mitsu is not present so he is not in all, while Taki is not in SC V.

If we take literally.
Sophitia is the one of the three character model to be in all games.(Siegfried and Night shares a similar trait since in one game he was Night, while in the first was the other way around.)
Taki and Ivy both share the same amount Taki is absent in SC V while Ivy is absent in Sou Blade.
Voldo don't appear in Legends.
Cervy is not playable in Legends.
Mitsu is available in all but Chinese copies of Soul Blade.
