Well, it probably wouldn't have been as good anyway. I tried Dudley, but it turned out pretty bad.
 
Well, i killed one of the most herp derp options, thanks me :D
The classic cast (SSF2 basically) is probably where is easier find inspiration, the chara design was more solid and the nation/sterotype stronger

If i can say just post stuff without give a fuck to win, "Soulcaliburize SF" was a theme i wanted suggest from a while... is a composed thing, you've to do a recreation(character) and an original(SC restyle) at the same time

Just have fun sharing design, if we do a lot of stuff not only the contest will be better but we can open a SF collection thread :D

ps: i see no problem on peoples give two different ideas/reinterpretation of the same character, on the contrary can be fun... example Ken is mixed etnicity, maybe one do him as western knight,another as samurai
And anyway we are talking about 70/80 characters, probably more :D

I somebody anyway don't want risk doubles the ones i'm considering are
Ryu (do the protagonist is ever a herp derp move, but who cares he's my main since i was 6)

Dudley is an awesome idea imho, his etnicity combined with the aristocratic english touch give you so many possible chara design... Mozart wig ftw :D
 
I don't know SF that well, but I wanted to try this contest......both are based on unused char designs that I found with an image search...kinda cheating, but still very soulcaliburized.......plus a ninja and a wildman, easy moveset choices (besides, who but Aeon fits Blanka?)

Don't worry about win or not, just post stuff... the whole purpose of the contest is keep this sub-forum alive and active :D

@Onyx- no problem at all. On the contrary, that concept fit well with the theme, good idea!
Design a costume from zero should be considered as a +, but as long people straight admit to have just recreated a concept i find it fair

As you see mine is a total restyle, not straight recreation... there can be many different reinterpretations of the same character!

It's fine; I used the same mask no lie because I had a similar one on a swordsmen of mine lol; I'll just have to drop off a bomb ass Sagot then ;p
 
@MeanBeard- I like all three, but Go is definitely my fav: the first two are just straight good recreations, Go is perfect recreation and have also SC restyle, he look more ancient and detailed compared to the original counterpart!

When i will have to vote i will base it on 3 things: recreation/catch char spirit, SC restyle, technique


@Neclord: i've started a Dhalsim CaS,but then i dropped it to not have to many entries, maybe i will add only one more (probably Ryu)... i keep it for future if we do a SF thread
Aeon give you yoga fire, but Yoshi is just so wierd-perfect for him, try made a quickly one and watch his critical edge :D
 
I wouldn't be able to tell it was a remake of Ken If it were not for this Contest; but utterly bad ass job on him.

Ryu also came out well done.
