Need help with MPEG to AVI conversion

Anyone know where I can find a decent, free conversion tool to change my videos from MPEG to AVI format, with minimal drop in quality?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I use quick media converter. Haven't had any issues with it yet.

Super also fucks with your codecs. Unless they've totally changed the way it works since the last time I tried it.

The one I usually recommend is MediaCoder.

i use avidemux 2.4 and adobe premier for compiling but i'll try some of these other ones listed liek the one jaxel uses

I compile via VFW and command line in VirtualDubMod...

i tried that command line stuff but it was confusing because i don't really know what is going on, i usually just hit buttons until stuff happens
