New and Unique Weapons!

I would like to see claws as a fast and powerful, but short ranged play style. I'd like to see literal uppercuts, nice stabs, and twister lunges! Of course, I'd want very unique from the existing play styles!

Let's try using hook-swords and maces (ball & chain).

Also, I would want big boomerangs in the game. They could be used as throwing weapons and battering/cutting weapons.

Throwing knives? A studded whip? A pair of metal fans? Spell caster?
Endless possibilities here, people, and that is the best thing about a weapon based fighter ;)

Spell caster & Kunais would fit Street Fighter or Naruto more tbh.

But I do agree on the fan idea.

How many of these weapons need their own separate styles? A lot of these suggestions would be fine as skins for existing styles. For example, the Western two-handed sword was brought up earlier in this thread. This style is already reflected in Sieg's and NM's movesets, so I think what you really want is a more grounded design as opposed to the thick airplane wings currently available. Mitsurugi also has a Western-style sword that works surprisingly well with this moveset. Macuahuitls, another suggestion, would go well with any sword or one-handed axe style.
Exactly,That Gypsy should lose the orb :3 , and Z.wei should wave bb to Ein.
I used to think the same way about Viola's orb, but now I see the orb as a more convenient form of the ball-and-chain hammer/mace/flail thingy, so the weapon itself doesn't really bother me so much anymore. However, Viola's and ZWEI's paranormal character archetypes still don't fit in with the knights, duelists, and warriors of the rest of the cast.

^ You have a point. The studded whip thing works swell as an Ivy alt weapon and am I the only one who nearly put my controller through the tv when I realized Natsu doesn't have a twin sais alternate? Even the claws could work as a Natsu alt, I think.

Viola doesn't bother me; I even kinda like her. But Zwei is just too jarring. And no stfu, Namco, I'm not going to capitalize Zwei every time I write it :P

They already had steel fans in SC3, but it wouldn't hurt to bring them back...
Demuth?Wasn't he a bonus character or soThat was a terrible style & character...poorly made.
They need to really work on improving it and give it to a fitting character if they're bringing it back.

I'd prefer a fan similar to Temari's from Naruto.

Yeah or even maybe something like floating blades, sort of like in Gundam how their psychic system works they can control these sabers around them without touching them.. That would be totally badass!!

Cervantes can already sorta do that, but you may be on to something...

Demuths' movesets (iron fan) looks like a reject of all of the moves that Xianghua shouldn't have. It looks terrible (ie no motion capture).

I am more of a fan of weapons that are more grounded (rather than huge exaggerations of giant swords, fans, magic spells) to be introduced in SC6. I'm more interested in weapons that are tied to unique movesets, rather than just looking like a fantasy weapon.

Secondly, new weapons need to have a different style than current ones. Nightmare's soul edge basically is a giant sword club, where he uses it as much to smash and crush likely more than to cut and thrust. Those oni clubs and macuahuitl would function way too similarly, and at best could be a custom weapon rather than an actual new moveset and fighting style.
