Nightmare's Movelist Changes and Move Speculation Thread

Just a demo version I wouldn't take it too serious. Is nice that Keev provided feedback so that Namco can take it and improve Nighty
 
Well we had a convo yesterday about nighty and i translated the important stuff and shared it with everyone :D

Cool, keep sharing, keep providing feedback, that's the idea of the demo, don't start the flame against Namco, is too early to say anything about Nighty
 
I messed around with Nightmare in SC4 and while I was playing around in training, I suddenly recalled that Nightmare had a ton of really short and sweet combos he could perform. Very different from Siegfried who relied mostly on stance mix-ups. Nightmare in SC4 was a pretty beastly guy with all the tricks he could perform; even had a few feints.

I suspect that they may be trying to push Nightmare is the same direction as before, but probably need to balance it with the new Brave Edge mechanics. His old Night Terror stuff - the theme behind them - could be locked into Brave Edges. As we saw with his new Grim Stride K Brave Edge, its combo-able and we know that Nightmare's has a few new options to enter Grim Stride. More than likely, he'll have some other options both in neutral and side stance that have Brave Edge inputs to combo into.
 
Nightmare is probably incomplete. If I understand Kayane's impressions, Leixia was also incomplete, even one of her stances had no attacks out of it. So I don't think we should worry about missing moves right now. The only thing gone that I think will stay gone is the Terror Charge.

I think since this is the first time Nightmare's been shown, his moveset is most likely incomplete. Stay optimistic people, I mean we've already dealt with the sophimare theory lol

Also, for the 4KK change, its easy to notice that its duckable from videos but we'll need hands on time to verify if it goes back to the SCIV version of the move.
 
Hopefully they do fix that problem where it's duckable on normal hit now. I mean yes, you do have the BE followup now but that takes meter, plus it's probably not safe. 4K range looks totally awful in the vids too. What I would really like is for them to do is make the 2nd punch a mid. As long as it was still NCC only I don't think that would be overpowered in the slightest

More importantly, lets just hope that GS KK is still in and they just haven't worked in the 2nd hit yet. I think thats the most crucial thing, moreso than the night terror charge (well....those range nerfs might be worse...)
 
Holy hell. I'm hoping he's incomplete.

Aside from all the things mentioned, I'm also hoping 11b returns, with plus frames on hit. That'd be nice. But I won't push my luck, I just want him to be better than he is now.
 
I would say don't worry too much even though almost every change we know about is a downgrade so far. You never know if something will have really good frame data in this version and change how he plays. Sometimes seemingly minuscule changes can help a lot, like when they added ability to go to NSS from crouch in SC4. That's not something that would get a lot of attention during a time like this imo.
 
Good point. I'm not too worried. Afterall, like Schneider said, we already survived the Sophiemare debate, so I'm sure we can survive some excessive nerfing in the hopes of incredible buffing.

Hopefully we'll see some changes during the live stream tomorrow.
 
I won't be worried to much either Namco wanted to make nightmare better and they know SCIV nightmare wasn't really strong so this demo was probably a playable version. Even kayane said that Lexia had missing moves for certain inputs. Well can't wait for the streaming :D!!!!
 
At least from this build, everything about GS K and the GS K BE combo implies that the exclusion of the old GS KK was intentional and is likely to stick. The first hit of GS K now has a faster recovery, though still punishable.
 
ok i watched the live stream, i can confirm that the old WR K (knee kick) is replaced with the head butt move we've been seeing, this really sucks. damnit i don't like the change at all.
