[North Carolina] Let's make a scene

Disappointed, as in I wanted some feedback on if the new command for GIs seemed to be a hindrance or a help, and wondering if the frames for them had changed.

I'm thinking about some dates now.
 
Soul Calibur V stream / feedback impressions:
-Tira: As long as she has those random properties, I will NEVER play her in tournament, I'm glad about the damage boost though
-Netsu: looks mad gimmicky and currently seems like a stripped down Taki
-Voldo: I haven't heard shit about this character
-Sieg: more cancels (thumbs up), can def. see him mind-fucking people at high level
-Zwei: didn't watch much, stupid push back on some of his moves
-Ast: I'm sure they're gonna have character specific step speeds before retail version comes out, if not, he's gonna be ridiculous
-Mistu: seems really straight-forward....and more boring than ever
-Ivy: (as with all stance characters) I'm sure they're gonna get all (or some of) their stances added by the time the game launches. Ivy with no whip stance just sounds like a dumb idea, but if she ends up having that "hold the attack" to do her whips moves in the final version, I wouldn't mind as long as she has plenty of moves this applies to. Don't get your hopes too high people, this bitch will get nerfed before launch, that unblockable damage is STUPID
-Hilde: I haven't had a chance to watch any videos of her new "legit" version. So far just read that she's a keep out character, I'm definitely curious though how she turns out considering how many problems she caused to SC4.
-Pat: looks pretty good, I'm sure he's gonna be a popular character
-Pyrrah: I can't really get past how much she looks and sounds like a whiny bitch
-Maxi: read that he's "better", we'll see

Final summary: with 6 months till launch I'm sure that the final version is gonna be A LOT different than what's been shown so far. There are still many moves, properties and characters that haven't been revealed yet. Just judging from the character select screen we've only seen around half the cast. Fingers crossed for some returning favorites (Cervantes, a cool looking adult Amy and an evil badass Sophitia) and BANGOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

As of now, I'll be in NC for most of the first year this game is out. If this game ends up being as good as I hope, I'll def. be traveling and trying to get the state to a level that can hold it's own nationally. Stay hungry my friends.

P.S. from now on, I'm entering tournaments simply as "FOX" because 1. Nobody can mispronounce it, 2. It's the most basic summary of all the random nicknames I've made for myself, and 3. Anybody that's known me long enough shouldn't be too uncomfortable with the transition.

Speculation states that Viola is Amy, bro. But yeah, that's just speculation. We shall see.

I've working w/ a new philosophy for the character selection and match ups involving real boxing and martial arts. I'll be posting this up soon, but I would rather show everyone my theory in person.

Seriously though after being at Dev kind of interested in playing again to see how terrible I can be at the game.

Last edit I swear, Saturdays have and will always suck for me until after Jan 9th due to my work schedule but anything on a Sunday I would be able to make.

At Evo talking with Brent and Jon they are interested in playing SC5. I think Demo and Drunkdragon are interested as well. Don't know who else locally would be interested in playing though.
 
Got some ideas for get togethers. How about December since ppl are out of school that time. the only thing we need to worry about is visiting family and those who work. Crazyfirefly will come up in Dec. to us and it would be nice if we could all get together if there is a time.
 
Have they said anything about SC5 being at FR yet? I can hit one major this year- and I want to hit a place with KOF and SC- I thought SCV would be after FR but guess I was wrong.

That sounds great! I'll be up for coming through Winston during the holidays. I think Raiden will probably be in the area too. Keep us posted!

@Alstein: I think people will start spamming ShinBlanka pretty soon about this. The official list was only just recently posted up, so I think there's still plenty of time.

Also, I don't know why everybody thought it was going to be way later. Daishi said Q1 and then said early 2012. If we went by fiscal year, the Japanese fiscal year starts April 1. US fiscal year starts in October. So when he said "early 2012" and Q1, he obviously meant just a normal calender year.
 
By the time SC5 is released I should be moved into my new place and would be able to host stuff in Raleigh if people wanted.
 
Absolutely! I think Raleigh will be the center of the SC community like it was in SC2. We definitely appreciate it! :)

Despite SC4 being ass, I really would like to get some games in to feed this hype. :(
