Nostalgia! Emulating older SC games & netplay discussion

PCSX2 emulation of SC2/SC3 is really bad in general, especially the latter one. The games are barely playable. I've tried this before and I was getting 35-45fps in the lowest settings, where as my FFX runs in 160-170fps in 1080p @ 4xAA.

Sounds like the ps3 running these games lol

Yeah, I have played SC3 on the 60GB version of PS3 and it was very similar. Not playable at all.

Yes, because we all need the OP's computer in order to use an emulator...

What he's asking for is against forum rules and the netplay is ass or nonexistent depending on what you use.

Config talk is fine though.

I got to check the configuration shown in the video, I wonder if that will change something. I've tried running SC3 on two PCs, one with a quad core, 4GB RAM, GTX 260, the other a slightly worse CPU with 6GB DDR3 and HD 69502GB. The result was exactly the same. 60FPS in menu, 40 during battles.

That SC3 looked pretty good. Who knows about the netplay though. We're gonna start off slow thouggh and see if we can get SB working, then maybe move on to SC2 and 3.

I saw people talking about playing SSB on dolphin online, apparently it's not too bad.

If anyone is interested in playing Soul Edge please PM Wombat or me, we're planning some neat stuff.

Um if Soul Calibur II and Soul Calibur III aren't made in 720P ain't it pointless to run them in a resolution they weren't made for. I know it's bad audio, you get alias frequencies.

Amen to that. SC1 would be the best if it had netplay.
We are SO CLOSE.

Me and Norik got SE running perfectly except that sometimes the game randomly freaks out and disconnects both players. Kinda like SC5... Hm.

Soul Calibur 1 is totally unplayable in the emulator we're using, but there are other emu's, and we're gonna try them. Probably the Dreamcast emulator is the next one to try.

I'm personally looking forward to playing SC2. I think the largest pool of players would be interested in that one.

My prediction is that we'll be playing mainly SE because it doesn't need that much of a powerful machine, but I'd really like to have a little SCII online scene. As always just PM me or Wombat if you're interested in the project and/or can give us a hand.
