[Oct 7, 2011] DEVASTATION 2011 (Phoenix, Arizona)

Lots of people haven't even RSVP'd yet. Not saying it'll be amazing numbers but I know for a fact none of Chicago has...and that all of Chicago is going.

I appear to have found myself in a predicament.

Originally, I was going to book a hotel room for three of my friends as well as myself. For various reasons, it appears that they will be unable to attend. So this leaves me without the money to book the room for the full event dates. Worst comes to worst, I know people down here that I could room with, but I'd rather not put the strain on them if at all possible, since they live in Sun City.

What I'm asking is this: is there anyone who would allow me to room with them at the hotel? I feel like I'm asking a lot, but I'm finding myself short on options.

Heaton, I have a double queen room. Thus far it is me/krayzie/xeph/omega. You are more than welcome to crash it. Omega still isn't 100%. As long as you don't mind flooring it, you are square. We'll work out a reasonable rate when we get there. Don't ever feel like you got nowhere to sleep, though.

I'm gonna rent out a hotel room, lookin for people to split the cost with me. I'm gonna bring my ps3 of course so we'll be able to play casuals and stuff too.

Which reminds me, do I need to bring my own TV? Or do the hotel TVs work for ps3? I'm talking about the Hyatt.

Ndk; Lobo came to me with the proposition, so I had to jump on it. Also, if it's cool with everyone else, you can join us. I'm more than down to take the floor.

Also, heaton, like lobo explained, you're welcomed to join us.

NDK you're in for sure. i'll even bring a couple cots for floor people.

looks like we'll be running a "bed priority" mini tournament.

noface if you haven't looked into it, phoenix hotel rooms are not exactly cheap in october. i'd HIGHLY recommend booking a room in the DEVASTATION block. it is like 30 yards away from the venue, and it is only $130 a night if you get in the block. otherwise, expect to pay $190-$250 a night for pretty much any room downtown. they are running out really quick.

you can use a credit card and hold the room with a 24 hour no-penalty notice cancellation policy. after that you can find people to split the costs. you don't wanna sleep on it too long and get stuck paying twice as much, 2 miles away.

The Hyatt has mostly HDTVs with AV ports you can access. I don't know about latency issues though.

I don't mind the floor at all - in fact, it'll probably be more comfortable than the dorm beds here. Thank you very much for the offer.

I'm a little bit lost as to how this all ends up working out, since this will be my first offline event, much less my first convention of any sort.

So, wait. GreatOne isn't doing the thing for this event? Fuuuuu
I'm still working on it bruh. I gotta crunch some numbers but it's not looking very likely for me. If I wanted to get a plane ticket that's affordable I'd have to pay for it right now and that just ain't happening.

Now then...

*clears throat*

If you like Soul Calibur, and you're on the fence about coming to DEVASTATION... I STRONGLY suggest you make it a point to attend.
