Official SCV Stage Discussion

So (my opinion):
Chinese stage - Leixia;
Forest - Raphael;
Cave of light and darkness - Nightmare (?);
Burning citadel - Pyrrha
Nope.
  • The Chinese Temple (Luoyang or something... I forget) is indeed Leixia’s stage as you surmised.
  • The Forest stage’s character association is currently unknown.
  • The Cave I personally believe is much more likely to be Raphael’s stage (bats flying around, and he’s in the cave in a lot of screenshots). But any specific character-stage connection is just speculation at this point.
  • Assuming you’re talking about the most recent stage pics, the “Burning Citadel” is actually “Imperial Free City” again, and has already been shown in several ways to be an Assassin’s Creed (i.e. Ezio’s) stage. (See Ezio reveal trailer, stage selections in gameplay vids, comparison pic between AC levels and the SC stage, etc.)

I was thinking that way because I've noticed that when you select a stage without selecting the BGM, the stage is directly associated to a BGM/character! That's why I posted that way, but I can be wrong!

One of the gameplay videos showed a couple of guys scrolling through all stage cards - there are 27 in total - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNLIMHrkk1k

I noticed that too - on that vid, Seig's portrait appeared in a blue bar up to the right of the Castle Under Seige stage card - it defo looks very likely that each character is allocated their own stage, or at least each stage has a "main" character. As the player scrolls through all the cards, the characters appear as follows:

Castle under Seige - Seigfried as the main, with Voldo and Ivy as secondary options by the looks of things - but I think this is just for their music, as it says "Voldo's theme".
Townsquare - Patroklos (apologies for doubting this earlier in the thread!) The other slots are "locked"
Moonlight wasteland: Tira. Hilde is one of the secondary slots and the other is "locked" (for Zwei, probably)
Merchant Ship: Maxi, with Voldo and Mits as the secondary slots.
Torture Chamber: Voldo, with Seig and Maxi as the secondary slots.
Coliseum: all "Locked", but probably Pyrrha.

The Evil Shrine & Kunimitsu temple did not appear, but I think we can safely say Astaroth and Natsu respectively.

Luoyang will be Leixia's stage, I think that's pretty certain too.

That cavern stage - Raph possibly, because of the bats as Gabe says.

Burning Old Town - Nightmare, I reckon. I think they'll probably do an actual Venice stage for Ezio, as they did for the previous guests (that wretched hangar stage!).

From theming and such, I can probably say that:

Ancient Citadel: Under Siege - Siegfried
Conqueror's Coliseum - Patroklos/Ivy
Cavern of Light and Darkness - Nightmare
Free Imperial City Center - Patroklos/Hilde
Free Imperial City: Old Quarter - Ezio
Godaido Temple - Natsu
Luoyang: Grand Festival of Guandi Temple - Leixia
Shrine of the Snake God Palgaea - Astaroth
Sinking Merchant Ship - Maxi
Torture Chamber - Voldo/Tira
Tranquil Wasteland - Z.W.E.I.
Unknown Forest - Raphael/Viola

I know there's probably more to be announced later, so that's half-assed as of now. :)

That's 12, so potentially 15 more to go (if we go by that vid I linked above) - amazing!!

We NEED to see the Valentine Mansion again! - This time, outside please:

THIS is what SC needs for stages: stages that are placed on common places and NOT on stages like built precisely for fighting (as if the builders of the place knew someone would fight there), like in the Tekken series.

All without getting ridiculously boring of course. I'm pretty happy with what I've seen so far. The forest stage seems to be what you're after and then there are the stages built precisely for fighting like the Colosseum and Chinese New Year stages. Both of them look fantastic. SC5 is showing off a certain kind of flair this time around ;)

Do you guys think they should have a day and night option when selecting them? I think it would be nice.

Oh, hell yes XD But some stages would look odd in the morning (Chinese New Year... in the middle of the day? It wouldn't look as impressive)
And for some, time of day doesn't even seem to matter (Kunpaetku Shrine, Kunimitsu Temple)
But I really want to see the Colosseum and forest stages at night :D

It would be cool for the forest stage to have a light fog on the night option.

Do you guys think they should have a day and night version of each stage as an option when selecting them? I think it would be nice. Tenkaichi 3 offers this option.

Day and night and different season options would be nice. Of course, changing the whole season would require much more work than just changing the time of day. So much so that the devs could consider them as complete new stages (I wouldn't mind having clone stages if they went through this). For example, how that forest stage could look like during winter:

Some of the stages are multi-tiered like the Sinking Merchant Ship so does each layer add to the stage count? Would we be able to select which layer of a stage we want to fight on?

I'm glad they're giving us a lot more stages than were in SC4. I especially like that they added multi-tiered stages. It's like the devs said "Yo dawg, We heard you like stages so we put a stage in your stage."

I just replayed Weapon Master in 2 and noticed something: In 3 and 4 the stage floors are completely flat, while stages in 2 have some (very minor, not enough to effect gameplay outside of the quickstand pit in 1 stage) minor variances in height. I miss that cool detail now that I have noticed it.

I would like to see a few stages that weren't "built" for fighting like the cutscene ones hacked into SC3 above. Smaller cramped locations are also interesting.

(I also noticed the jiggle physics aren't individualized and are completely cloned from character to character, but that is for another topic)

I'm pretty sure Tira has the moonlit, endless stage.
Because of the music scrolling thing?

I've always wanted a snowy forest stage... *sigh* But I wouldn't count on season shifts as an option. They have other things to do y'know :/
