Opinion: Where Do Fighting Games Go From Here?

I had to look online to find out that you need to dash cancel after landing a Focus attack to pull off certain combos.

To be fair, it tells you exactly how to do that in the manual.

Although I think the complaint that challenge mode not telling you how to do something (or at least giving you a demo, ala VF4) is TOTALLY justifiable.

I look forward to T6, but I do not see it as "the future" of fighting games.

KOF12 and Blazblue also look fun.

Crow: Lili death combo...i dunno. The Nina combos there just assured me I'll be pissed my entire Tekken 6 EXP. Goddamnit.

I certainly hope not.
Crow... Almost none of the Nina combos in that vid did more than 45%... (they actually reduced the number of half-life juggles in BR)

As for the Lili combo... that is SOOOOOOO situational that you'll never see it happen...

1 - needs to be in Rage.
2 - needs to be a Wall Carry in that SPECIFIC spot in the combo.
3 - needs a Floor Break Bound in that SPECIFIC spot in the combo.

It’s a dichotomy that unfortunately may be its undoing. Fighting game specific forums are confusing to read, even for me, a gamer that has been playing fighting games casually for over 10 years.

The amount of acronyms and colloquialisms that litter their conversations makes for smoother communication between veterans, no doubt, but it makes it overwhelming and impenetrable to outsiders.
There is a partial solution to this. Noob unfriendly terms should have mouse-over definitions similar to some forums having key words mouse over to reveal text advertisements.

This would've helped heaps when reading about FG's I never got in depth with. No, it's not reasonable to read a thirty-foot laundry list sticky of definitions exclusive to that fighting game. I want to learn the definition when I come across it and not have to memorize it in advance. Apparently, that is too much to ask and 21st century internet hasn't adopted (what should be a staple) that niche.

Hell, I'd often dream of seeing move commands that you mouse over and a little GIF animation shows what that move is.

Wow I've always heard Tekken has a lot of juggling but damn....Can't you air control...or like Ukemi or something?
