Pyrrha Movelist Discussion/Analysis

I've played around 30-50 matches with Pyrrha so I can post a few comments on her command list.

3A - Sophie 3A, not sure though.
-> Sophie's 3A.

1A
-> Better TC than old Sophitia's 1A.

6B - Sophie 6AB without the 6A part? Doesn't seem to do anything?
-> 6B,K is mid, low (this low is a new kick).

3B - Standard sister launcher. Might be safe, or might have dumb recovery.
-> Hits grounded nicely.

WR A - Sophie
-> This should be WR B since it's listed in the B section :).

8B - Sophie's probably
-> Both sisters used to have the same 7_8_9B.

KK - Does this exist?
-> No.

4K
-> Old 6K from SC3 (not sure if it's the same input in SC4), a little bit slower than it used to be.

3KK - Cass 3K into Sophie 44K. Might be good combo filler like Cass 3AK off of walls. 2nd K might be delayable.
-> I think it's NCC and you can follow it up with 22_88B+K.

1K - Sophie, but looks more useful. Does not give advantage. Probably -2 on hit. Seems to track rolls better. More stun on grounded opponents. Seems like pretty good oki. How safe is this?
-> The range is pretty bad.

1(K) - Does this exist?
-> I don't think so.

8K - Sophie's probably
-> Yup.

B+K - Still good?
-> Seems like the TJ frames are worse.

4B+K - does this exist?
-> It does but it has a different input (can't remember).

A+K - Does this exist?
-> No regular A+K moves at the moment (this stands for pretty much every character).

66A - Looks like exaggerated Cass 66A
-> Sophie's 66A with worse range.

11AA - Looks like a guard break non TJ version of Sophie's 11AA. I don't think I've seen 11AA used, but 11A looks like it's safe and has a nice arch. Looks like it steps back bit first, maybe more than Soph 11A.
-> 11_77A,[A] gives a guard break with 236B guaranteed on block.

66B - Probably Pyrrha's most original attack. Looks like a cross between Cass 33B and Cass 22B+K, etc. Can BE afterwards. Is the BE steppable? How much disadvantage is there on block?
-> It is linear but it hits grounded. FRC on block. You can do either CE or 236B after it. 66B CE can be followed up with 22_88B,A,K. If you are wondering about its animation, think about Cass' 22_88B from SC3.

22B - I think this is Sophie's 2B 8B A K without the 2B.
-> True.

66A+G - This is the command throw right? Not sure I know the command throw from the B+G throw.
-> The Vagina Diver has got its animation changed a little.

236B
-> No more 236236B (it gives 236B). 236B:4 (maybe 236B4 too) can be done no matter the range (possible to do JF at max range) AND from side (that's awesome if you ask me).

Aesthetically she looks like a Soul Edge Sophitia fused with the improvised techniques of Soul Calibur II Cassandra. I don't know man. That 236 236 AA looks absolutely NASTY. Shoot Pyrra trying to LIVE

Besides the old 6AB it looks like she now has a 6AK (6A into 1K pretty much). Yeeeeee pokessss

Not sure if it was mentioned or not.

Anyways, I'll be sure to get some move list recordings at NEC in case some moves were missed/added since the last build.

I didn't see much of the stream, and the only Pyrrha I saw got owned by Siegfried. Did I miss anything special?

I only saw the "first block" or w/e of the stream and was on the lookout for new Pyrrha tech. Unfortunately I didn't see anything new.

Watched some videos from the TGN stream (only a few Pyrrha vids so far) and the only thing "new" I noticed so far is that 66A has TC frames :/

Hopefully the 1st half of the stream gets uploaded, there were a lot of good matches on there.

The Pyrrha at the tournament did a lot of what looked like 88B? or is that her 66b? I'm not sure, anyway, they did alot of those at range it seemed, Pyrrhas range is lacking, I sort of wish she had TAS even if just to close the distance...

66B isn't looking that great to throw out for no reason. Pretty sure it's punishable on just guard. It does look like an awesome answer to lows though.

TAS wasn't a way to get in ideally since its options are a free mix-up on block. TAS was a reason to stay out since it was so threatening at tip range. 4B was Sophie's tool for getting in, but she doesn't seem to have that either. She does have Sophie 22B (which is now 4B) which is a little bit faster. I haven't seen it ducked yet, but if you're fighting people who don't want to duck or step it that might be your distance closer depending how much it knocks back.

If 3A and 3B are awesome in this game I will feel comfortable zoning just short of where I usually zone, otherwise I won't really be sure where to stand until I have everything's tip range figured out. But standing in throw or 1A range doesn't sound like a bad deal either.

I meant it in terms of like, getting in when pushed out, because it seems like 66B is Pyrrha's longest range move, and while it does force crouch on block, it seems very linear, and so I'm worried about the options she has at range regardless, never mind punishable long range moves.

I suppose I could've made it clearer that I share your concern for the most part. We might just have to live with it.

Weird, to me it looked like 66B was uncharacteristically safe for tech jump launcher with decent speed. I saw a lot of 66B blocked into 2A CH. It seems safer than -6, even. My intuition tells me it's -2 but that can't be... Still, no way in hell it's unsafe.

Pyrrha's 4B should see some use in SCV. In SCIV, Sophie's 22B was free SG damage for those who stand still.

Yeah looks safe for sure, but pretty sure I saw it punished on just guard (I find it pretty easy to read over that particular new terminology myself). Not sure if that's a significant property to 66B or just every move in the game. Anyway, I'm not afraid of it being blocked as much as I'm afraid of it getting stepped.
