Question about offline tournies

I've searched a little, but since I'm supposed to be working, I figured it'd be easy to just ask the people who actually go to tournies. What are the average payouts for nationals and the other big tournies? Also, what were some of the biggest payouts?
 
For Majors it's $1000+ with some generating more $$$ than others.

I see alot of people going for 70% / 20 % / 10 % splits of entries and with, let's say a 100 man tourney at $15 a pop you have $1500 split into $1050 / $300 / $150 for the top three.

Bigger payouts are things like sponsored tournies or ones with more people. I think Nats will be ~$4k, and it sounds like Evo will be big as well, but who knows.
 
Nothing will compare to walking through a corridor during EVO and seeing RTD and Mick dividing up a giant pile of cash on a table.
 
I went to the NM state championships for nvga and I placed fourth (Because they had it on ps3 and I've never touched a ps3 pad before then. Why did I think it would be on xbox?)

There were no prizes for fourth. :( only 3rd and up. And it was not very much even for them. Making a livin at this game is rough!
 
Yes Abner cuz you're a beast who uses Amy and you sandbagged in casuals to get to know all my moves and then went in for the kill in the round robin. Come up to Santa Fe, we'll play on xbox for you at the gamers lounge.

The biggest SC payout we had was $1000, but it didn't pan out like we thought and 2nd and 3rd kind of got hosed on that one.
 
Heh, as I recall the only sandbagger there was the voldo user (jk I didn't even know what that meant till I met you guys) I have a legit excuse, I was like new and stuff :P Yeah may have to make it down there. Specially if you do it on the xbox! It was fun though! Obviously don't play SC for the $. hehe
