You know, I think I'll get on the ban wagon now.

Since Hilde and Algol are banned in order to cater to complainers, lets throw Amy in there and not do this ban thing half assed. I'm sure statistics would show that more people complain about Amy than Hilde. So f*ck Amy.

Also, we should ban ring outs. I hear many people online complaining about ring outs being cheap. I say we ban ring outs so that we can attract more players.

Let's go all the way through with this ban, folks.
 
OOFMATIC: You should seriously ban Amy yourself. It just doesn't make sense to hope other people do it. Why would you only want her banned if someone else does it?

I'd rather have no bans at all.

But since people are banning, they might as well throw Amy in there. :)

I understand. I've always felt odd that a person wants everything allowed in public eye but what they really want is actually more specific. What's the point? Too dishonest for my liking, personally. I only say that since you're actually intent on hosting your own event to the public. It is yours, after all. Unless you think it's truly the community's place, too. Seems contradictory.

First off, what does my skill level in a game have anything to with my level with public relations? And also, what does trolling help? I'm really not trying to show you any disrespect. But it would make more sense if you stop being so damn negative.

Haijame: Don't think i don't understand about the Hilde players. HOWEVER, i do know that it is equally THEIR fault for not preparing for this. Also, for 1.5+years this bitch was knocking on death's door for being banned. Trust me, and i'm not speaking for idle, dogg and other TOs. I really wish there was some other way this could've been fixed. But people are right, to cater to the many and piss off a few. I'm sorry but it has to be done.

And yes, the canadians are being sarcastic. However, there has been NO REAL REASON to start banning other characters. Amy is like X, and people have dealt with them. So, piss off on that idea. The CG game on voldo is too strong; no it isn't you're just not stepping, learn to step. So...anywho

and yea...i was pretty drunk last night....i'm glad i didn't curse people out on my post lol...
 
ya know what would be interesting? what if we banned Hilde's throws? She could do the doom combo, binding, play on any ring, and all the bullshit she wants, but she isn't allowed to throw anybody. Where would she be on the tier list then? Discuss...

this thread actually gives me somethin to do at work, since my job requirement is sit on my ass alone and do absolutely nothing for 9 hours. so I thank u people.
 
Sure there has. Personal preference = real reason. If more than one person shares the same personal preference then it's called a demographic.
 
Ok. so what you guys are saying is save the community and ban Hilde and Algol, who have yet to dominate SC4, because they scare away people.

And if you do that, you'll only throw away the lives of the few people who've sacrificed 2 years of their life to appeal to the masses.

Fair enough. I'm a business so I like that idea.


But I had some interviews with a few n00bs like SwordLord etc. and they were saying that they've started playing Calibur because Algol let them throw bubbles and it reminded them of Marvel. They said that they found a way to enjoy Calibur because Algol gave them a 2D feel of throwing projectiles in a 3D game. JOP, the infamous Tekken player, flat out quit SC4 when he heard about the Algol ban because that was the only character that he liked.

And another n00b said that it was a challenge to play with Hilde because she is complicated to play with and that she challenges them mentally.

There are also other n00bs out there like Tiamat etc. who feel like they can't compete without the edge that these characters provide.

And there are pro players out there who obviously enjoy rising to the challenge of fighting characters like this.

Shit i just thought about this. Ya'll even banned the SW characters. They are the coolest thing that ever hit Calibur. Come on, you got Yoda, Vader, and Apprentice. And they use the force. Do you know how much n00bs like Oof etc. like this kind of shit?


When you ban a character 1 or 2 years after the game comes out, you are not only destroying the lives of the people who've sacrificed everything to get good with them, but you also take away from the versatility of the game. Doing random bans without solid justification doesn't promote a game, it inadvertently loses the majority of players instead of gaining them.

nigga what you know about the A? you don't live here so you don't have a clue. the A started playing SF4 seriously and blazeblue, so they slacked off of SC4. it didn't have shit to do with Hilde. nothing more, nothing less. if you wanna leave your nice suburbs to take a trip to the hood, holla at me.

It had ALOT to do with Hilde. Wingzero especially hates sc4 now because of Hilde. Big Boi and JTO I think moreso they hate Algol. Ur pretty versatile RTD, you could pick up Amy and master her pretty quick. Don't get too good with her though, cause she might get banned. gotta stay under the radar.
