I hope they have quadruple the amount of face and hair to choose from when compared to four. With the changes we've already seen, if they have those, and freckles, I'm all set with CaS. I can't wait to spend five years in it XD

Well 1 wish came true, everything is Unisex now, that will make options vastly better for character creation. now all we need is better male faces and were good. :D

I dont know why they keep modeling the creation options after homeless guys and giving them weird stupid voices. Or giving the girls like 3 baby faces then 17 transexuals... what If I want a face like Tira? Can I wear lipstic? Can I give them "beauty marks" like on Tira and Hilde? Whats worse is that at least 5 of the faces look the exact same with a beard or no beard... c'mon. Beards should be seperate options, eyes and the mouth should be as well. You may be able to choose eyebrows but they too all look the same and unless you can position them. It makes it pointless.

Agreed, it is odd how they brought back some dude voices from III but none of the awesome faces III had except in HD. this needs to happen, or else its damned to be wearing Raph's mask again. :o

Well, face paint, eyebrow choice, and decals give you some greater freedom with faces.We'll just have to hope they've added many more faces in addition. The only ones you could see in the CAS video were from 4. I imagine they'll at least add the ones from Broken Destiny as well. There was a rather strange monster face in broken destiny as well. Looked like an orc or a goblin.
I just wish they had given facial hair it's own slot...

To compact it all, they should just add an age meter where you can make whoever you want as young or old as you want. No need for 20 ugly masks with a preset emotion.. SC4 gives me nightmares, at least in SC3 when characters lost they were sad but I want to choose what my character feels like.... In SC4 they're always happy or always ugly.. :S

CALIBUR isn't a real word either but people seem to just except it since it's really close to caliber. Namco is good when it comes to play on words.

Funny story, I didn’t realize that “Calibur” was a play on Excalibur (and not a misspelling of “caliber”) for something like two years.

Even though its a reference to ExCalibur.. Its not very obvious... (I knew it was but, I doubt its actually as noticable.)
I would have rathered it be"SoulCaliber" as in the "Stronger soul wins" It would have made a lot more relevant sense.

It would be great if they gave us a variety of young faces and the age meter would basically alter them all into the old faces that we rarely see anyone ever used lol.

I just can't understand why we can edit limbs, face paints, eyebrows for god's sake and not faces in general :/ I just... fail to see the reasoning there.

We still don't know that much about the Character Creation, though. They didn't show us everything in that video; they skipped more than half its features. If we can edit eyebrows, it's only logical for them to edit eye types (those two things just go hand and hand). Also, at the time it was shown, it was still incomplete (the button icons were just arrows and gray circles instead of console buttons). Don't make any judgments on it just yet.

Yeah i was thinking of that to, hope it doesn't happen that way though. there's still quite alot more time, so hopefully they tweak this still lingering flaw.

I'd say we wait and see the next live stream coming up in a week or so (where they make customs in CAS mode) before we deliver judgment.

Yeah, I hope so too. Hopefully this stream will clear everything up then. What worried me was still seeing all the preset faces from SC4 ^^;

Or you know you could choose who you play against...don't stifle the creativity of other members. I may not be a huge fan of anime-created characters in Soul Calibur (which is odd considering I don't mind anime) but people can create whatever they want...you can choose to just not fight them...hopefully anyways.
Besides just look at some of the other hair options (and real life) and try and tell me they are not anime inspired. lol natsu what in the hell? also the person was asking for spiky hair which to my knowledge is quite common. so if you don't want to fight against anime characters in SCV then hopefully you will have the option of classic only...because if you have problems with those in the game then I have problems with create-a-soul in general...the majority look like crap (and only some are on purpose).
hopefully we will get info on how CAS will play online at the same time they sample it...and hopefully we will get a translation this time. we will know soon enough how CAS will be able to be played...I'm just gonna be patient.
