I loled watching Mitsu VS Astaroth. The guy using Mitsu seemed to accidentally spam the block button on two occasions. Still, interesting to note that the damage output seems to be greater than SC 4's.
LOTS of counterhits. A lot. I wouldn't take too much stock in that just yet, especially since properties of individual moves are subject to change still.
I didn't see them crouch blocking at all, to touch on Thespian's point. I saw a lot of them trying to 2k and do other crouching attacks out of all that. Maybe those are situations where, in a game like SF, you could mash cr.short and get out? That would be giving them a lot of credit on the 2d front as well, I don't even need to see them play I am TELLING YOU they're not good at those games either.
I mean, when the majority of gamers see this, or read these misleading articles, what do they think about this game? That's something that has to be taken into account here. I don't think the devs and the PR guys are doing a good job of controlling how the content of their game is being viewed, in this case.
EDIT: In the video, Viola burned EX meter on a move that involved that orb and created that launch setup. But individual move properties aside, I'm not worried about "omg it's a projectile" like some people. Link in SC2 had projectiles, and they were all SUPER ass. Chester, one of the extras from SC3, had projectiles, and he was decent at best. I used a Bomberman edit to troll sometimes, but never played him seriously in a tourney.
I think it's interesting how people sometimes seem to think that Algol was the first character in SC to have projectiles, it's just not true. He was just the first GOOD character to have them. And despite that, he never won many tournaments even when he was allowed, the other top tiers like Hilde and Amy and Kilik gave him very real problems.
Babalook was right, projectiles alone weren't what made Algol broken, it was how they worked within his overall tool set, which includes his silly backstep and long range pokes. Cervy actually never had too bad of a matchup against him, but for some characters it was far worse. The bubbles were just one part of that, though.
