Sophitia General Discussion / Q&A

I've a question about lizardman. After his crawling stance he has this fast rolling thing, after I got hit, i tried to tech left or right but i kept getting hit. How do you block or recover from that?

what u could do is eat the next hit...cuz it guaranteed anyways...after the 2nd hit u should be able to tech to the left or the right!

well its safer to wait and punish...if u miss on the A+B or if he just doesnt do the other part you are expecting...u could possible be in for alot of hurt...so for now just punish is with 236B

Does anyone any good Sophie moves to turtle with? I know I already made a thead about this but I was asked to post the question here.

B is a great move for this purpose I think. B is fast, decent range, pushes opponent away and recovers more than fast enough for step options. There is a list earlier in this thread about which moves are good for spacing with sophie, if you want to turtle you probably want to use those and then follow each with a mix of guard, backstep, step guard, auto evade moves (22A or B+K) and GI (if they are getting too aggressive with step kill and reaching in to handle).

I'm a pretty aggresive Sophie so I don't know much more. You might want to watch some of videos on the site and youtube for other ideas. All the asian Sophies I've seen so far turtle well.

i switch from turtle to pitbull so i only know very little but here goes.

spacing is important! make sure u are well aware of how far 11A reaches! and try alot of backdashing so u could whiff punish as much as possible... doing this will only make your opponent more angry! which is when i kick it to high gear! but as far as advice for turtle...thats all i know :) its not much

yeah it is...you could just set the computer to do the move and put the 2nd action to block if you wanna find out for other moves in the future!

I think I found something when I was messing around last night and not sure if it's known or not so I'll post anyway...

If you hold down the G button then do a 236 motion Sophie does the super tech crouch like the 236236 motion instead of her normal 236 step. However if you do any moves out of it they come out as the normal 236 moves.

Suirad and I posted about that about a page back in this thread. You can pull off some ridiculous dodges and at the same time get inside by doing this. It's as easy (or as hard) as jumping a low on reaction, you just gotta learn the moves it works on.

Maybe a list of moves that it can go under is in order? Off the Top of my head Seig SCH K and Sophie WS K there are a lot really.

Forgot to List 44A as a move that turns opponent on block. It's only -6 too so it facilitates stepping to the left. I'm not sure why exactly(It looks like her upperbody hitbox shifts to her left) but if you do 44A on block then do it again, it will sidestep and CH some BBs. So far I've only gotten this on 4 characters: Sophie, Raph, Mitsu and Algol. Probably trying too hard, but I continue to wonder why they made a move that needs CH that slow and feel like I'm missing something.

Which move is the best bet to interupt like lizardman's crawling stance attacks and voldo's too? Is 2A the fastest?

Against Lizardman 2A is fast but there might be range issues. If you block anything including the stance transition 236B or 236236B are good for speed and damage output. If you got hit by LC A(the low) you might want to try 9K.

Voldo's Mantis Crawl is different, you should watch out for 2A because he has an attack that can jump it. A good stepkilling mid like 3K or 236AA could work well if they like to use the 2_8 evade otherwise 236B or 236236B here too.

For Liz, just sidestep in the 3 direction to avoid all of his crawl stance options except A. Works for any character, not just Sophitia. A good Liz player will use mainly A and K out of LC since they are the safest options. Just wait until you block one of his attacks and then throw out 236B, since it will CH any thing he can do out of the stance, even with the +2 advantage from LC K. The only way Liz can counter this is with LC A+B.
