Soul Cal 4 for the arcade?

The 2 above post are full of win, but...

Another example of High Horse, beyond the 60 bucks per weekend, and travel to Japan chants i see. Fighting games are already more of a hardcore thing, but in this website, people write things with the 123456789 notation. The game doesn't use such notation, the directions like the ones use on Virtua Fighter.com is much better and easier, so Why make it harder on yourself. It is like a no brainer that isn't being taken. Your job is to expand the community, not to make it exclusive. Get off your high horse and make the switch. Same goes for easily being able to go and check a characters movelist. Again, a la Virtuafighter or Tekkenzaibatsu.com. A lot Soulcalibur (or now caliburforum.com for Soul calibur 2 arcade). I understand the problems you guys had with that website and the need to form this new website. Well, now that you did, get these things in order.
What you fail to realise here is that vf.com also use numbers as directions, while TZ uses numbers for the limb buttons.

Apart from that, that was a go... no, a great read.

SC3s arcade version removed all the gliches and added charactrers... be intersting to see what they would do with a SC4 arcade edition? Maybe remove everything to do with star wars and bring back Hwang and Li Long :D

Few problems with booking a place here:
-Transport of equipment: Consoles, TV/Projectors, Sticks and other misc
-Time: Setting up and tearing down the equipment is already a hassle, add in planning and what not.
-Shy people: Won't turn up for the gatherings. Arcade lets these people warm up a bit.

Console sessions are great but again, some problems:
-Size of the place: 5-10 ppl at best usually
-No. of consoles: Max I've seen was 3
-Shy people: see above

With the arcade, all we need to do is just walk in and play. And we get to socialize and meet new friends.

Online would be great if there's no lag and no shitty behavior.

SC3AE didn't add characters. It removed about a dozen of them, and polished what was left. Unless you count non-playable Inferno, who's just Cervantes with a few extra crazy boss-level moves carried over from SC and SC2. (Yes, he always uses Cervantes moves, with the original Soul Edge as a weapon.)

This thread was a nice read, I'm glad that someone necroed it...

As was said before, fighting games are generally pretty hardcore. (Smash being the only exception, I suppose, if it didn't change much from the N64 version...)

Knowing that, I don't see why anyone would want to get up and go at an arcade to play a fighting game that they've never or barely played before.
I'm sure that most people here will agree that the more you know about SCIV, the more you love it.
And you wouldn't go back to being an ignorant scrub who thought he knew everything about the game.

So, assuming that you never played VF5...
If you saw a VF5 machine, would you go?

Plume you are one of the dumbest people I have ever encountered..do everyone a favor and avoid contact with other people..

I'm scared to do new things since that nasty mister told me to put my hands down his trousers.

Uh, okay.
So I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like playing fighter games when I don't know what I'm doing.
Noted.

Idk what the hell I am doing in SF4 but I still went out of my way to buy the game and actually quite enjoy it.
But to each to their own I suppose.
Edit: I ALSO didn't know what I was doing in SC4 when I first bought it but I still play it and just try to find new ways to improve.
But yes,I have gone up to random fighting games machines to try it out and I have fun during the process.

...uh...Exactly?
You didn't go to an arcade. Instead you bought the game and took the time to practise at home at your pace.

...Well I saw your edit, nevermind.

Why was it fun? What reason did you have to go there?
That's why I wrote my post, I want to know why people would go to an arcade.
Because like many people who posted in this thread, I don't see why anyone would go to arcades now.
Games are more complex than before, and you can play them on console.

Somewhat relevant, Guitar Hero is coming out for arcades, which has the potential to start a revival. Depending on how good it is (like if it has exclusive content over the console versions, etc.), people will start going to arcades again, because you know every kid who thought they were badass because they could play on Expert loved to show off at Best Buy demo stations.

Why do people go to bars and clubs? You can stay home and drink at your own pace for less money! Plus you can make any drink they can make at a bar at your home. I don't understand why people would want to go out and drink.

edit: based on Plume's edit. I'm under the assumption that you're a moron.
Whenever I'm part of the minority, I'm a moron. And now that I'm part the majority (because fighter arcades ARE dying because nobody sees a reason to go there), I'm a moron.
Great.

Edit: I'm just continuing the discussion that was going on before, and I catch all the flak... I'm really the blacksheep here.

Correction,I don't know how to play ANY 2D fighter, period, lol. Which are more common in arcades.
It's fun because I go with my friends and try to have a good time, I can't be downing myself and having negative thoughts like "oh no...I never played this game before,I'm going to fail at it and everyone will laugh at me", it's about trying new things and enjoying it with friends, that's why life gave us choices right? If you chose not to play something you're not familiar with, then that's understandable too. I'm just saying that it's a waste of time and probably money if you walk into an arcade and just sit there like a deer caught in a headlight and not play anything because you're not familiar with it.

Arcades been dead for years in the UK....but that doesn't mean your opinion of 'why would i want to play something I dont know' applies.

Maybe to a casual joe blogs...they aren't interested....maybe they're somewhat intimidated if they see woopass when they pass a machine...who knows.

Maybe people just take the machines for granted and don't realise they're a part of gaming history.

I would kill to have some decent machines nearby instead of nothing but slots everywhere.

BlazBlue has no console release. I'm sure alot of GG fans were dying to go and try it - they can't 'practice' in the same way you can for console...but i'm sure as hell people were wanting to check it out.

If we're talking, general populous - maybe your statements hold some ground..but you're on a hardcore SC site talking bout fighters...you gotta admit what you said was a lil dumb.

That's what I thought...

Meh, somehow I think that I shouldn't have given any personal example, but I couldn't find a good way to just ask "why do you think arcades are too dead for Bamco to release SCIV arcades?"...

Well whatever, I was just throwing out what I thought about the situation, a lot of people have different views on it and I can respect that, just wish arcades wouldn't die,I still have one close to home.
