SoulCalibur was released in arcades on July 30, 1998.
The closest Tuesday to that date next year is July 31, 2018.
One day after the 20th anniversary and only a few weeks after when Tekken was released the previous year.

That's gonna be our release date, friends. I feel it in my loins.
Sept 9.

I know Yun seong is slightly more popular than Hwang but that's because Yun was in the popular games and was able to develop a personality.

Hwang was on the PS1 and Dreamcast so story wasn't really emphasized at all aside from those really cool cutscenes for Soul Edge.

Indeed Yun is taking what made Hwang unique and then fleshing it out.... the problem is that Yun's movelist is kinda trash.

Then they fleshed out Hwang in SC3 Arcade Edition and he was once again better than Yun.

Hell Hwang's movelist was mixed with Xianghua and Yun in SC2 (Assassin) and he was better than Yun in that game too.

At the end of the day I want Hwang because he's significantly more fun to play in my opinion and I think his movelist is objectively better. Maybe less flashy but it works.

They really could put them both in though. They could fit everyone from Soul Edge to SCIV and it wouldn't be too much

Speaking on Yun Seong, have any of you read the "Fighting Style" description over at the soulcalibur.wikia?

http://soulcalibur.wikia.com/wiki/Yun-seong
That was cringey pain-inducing nonsense. Not to sound all elitist, but that specific section was written by scrubs for scrubs.

Its not even newbie-friendly, because the level of authoritative claims yet whiney sentiment means that the author clearly doesn't strive to improve.

Some gems:
1) Yun Seong being complained as "cheap"
2) Button masher
3) repeats combos

*generic claims for why the opponent stomped you

4) Builds up momentum in combat, so therefore he is difficult to stop.

* the only reason he is ABLE to build up momentum is because you cannot stop him. Causality problem here

5 It should be emphasized that his kicks are really his main weapon.

* Lol. Maybe Yun Seong should return where he has 3 kick buttons instead and will guarnatee him skyrocketing to high-tier.

Granted, the wikia has some useful information, but the Fighting Style descriptions really ruins its credibility.

It all comes down to personal preference, I don't like brash and cocky characters I prefer stoic and honorable. Its all good I'll take either one honestly even though I much prefer Hwang. Hwang has some flashy moves himself like his kicks and throws.
Exactly why I prefer Hwang. I dont care about trash move or not. I like playing and feeling the char. I try to make them work even if they are trash. Yun was a little too cocky for me, even if I liked it, was fun to troll people with him, I still prefer honorable and stoic char like Hwang or Kilik. For the flashy part just check out my Hwang match, I was barely doing any 3AAB (also was doing few Asura with Kilik SC4, I dont like being spammy even if it is, i will always play differently)

Also i did main him at soul edge where he had mitsu 2kB lol. I really love the design of the character, it's like a serious rival of mitsurugi with some korean kicks.

I was watching some of your matches on your youtube channel, I don't think I've seen this match tho. I'm going to watch it once I'm off work.

Technically, he shares a lots of move with X at SC1 and shares somz with Mitsurugi at SE. He still have plenty of unique moves : 66KK, 44K, 3B, 3AA, All throws, 2K, 1A, 1B, 3B+K, 2B+K, 4K, 6K, 44A, ws 1+2, ws A, A+B... and I'am sure a forget others... but he shares 22B, 44B, 66B, 6BB, 1K, 88_44B+K... I think I will replay some SC1 on my stream this sunday lol

You guys think they'll get themselves together and blow us with a DOPE AF Intro for SC6? or it's gonna be something lazy like in SC4 and 5?

I'm keeping watching the new SFV intro video and it's really amazingly done, i think this is easily the best intro in Fighting Games since years, last dopest intros i can remember were Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur 3. I'd love something similar for SC6. Since it's a reboot, or maybe they can just remake the SC1 Intro? Hum...

SC3's intro is definitely one of my favorite video game intros for sure. I really do hope we get a cool CG intro for SC6, but I'd also be happy with in-game graphics as long as it isn't as lazy as SC4 and 5 and shows more of the roster.
And a remake of SC1's intro would also be pretty awesome too, actually.
