1.There are so many memorable one liners
One liners are cool but only if they make sense. Engrish is good fun but too much of it ends up being annoying gibberish.

2. Reversal Edge is a risky rock, paper, scissors duel that can go either way
I'm not too sure about this, seems more luck based which is a no no in a competitive fighting game. If you've played Yakuza 0/Kiwami you will know what a luck based fighter is like with that minigame.

3. You can shatter multiple armor parts off your opponent
Back in the day I originally thought armor breaks were a cool idea but now I just want to see the outfits in their full glory throughout the match because the characters are at their most appealing look. I hope there's an option to turn armor breaks off.

4. Nightmare should leave his helmet off during fights
Or you know could have a 3P costume like SCII.

5. Alternate costumes are worth switching out the defaults for
Hopefully there will be a colour dial like in Tekken 7 so you can pick colours to your choosing.

6. Where SoulCalibur VI sit in the series timeline: the Beard theory

7. Fighters’ shared histories add story flourishes to SCVI’s fights
No denying little touches like this is great world building.

8. You’ll get a Soul Charge buff if you’re losing
It's okay I guess, though TBH I've never thought the Soul Calibur series ever needed meter.

9. Stages have different layouts
Always was a strength of the series having different shaped arenas.

10. The replay camera can be controlled
After playing Tekken 7 and living in an age where video sharing sites are a common place do we really need the replay anymore? Tekken 7 ditched them which has improved the flow and tension of matches.

-When the RE clash animation takes place both characters have the same options, it doesn't matter who initiated the clash: A B K G, GI step forward, sidestep (2 or 8) or backstep.

9 (?) options that, yes, will level the momentum of a fight, & hopefully translate SC6's nuances to all players. Maybe it'll reinforce the timing and rhythm of game play? Combo into RE & outta it for ballsy results (I hope).

Seriously, I've lost brain cells reading the dumb things people have said to defend reversal edge. I saw someone on another site say "No, it's more than r/p/s. It's about predicting what your opponent will do." THAT IS HOW YOU PLAY ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS YOU IMBECILIC DOLT.

Yeah that's an odd point they're talking about considering we know exactly when it's set and pretty much what the plot's going to revolve around too.

I suppose not everyone reads all the interviews and such but you'd think an article on playstation.com would be a bit more knowledgable.
 
Color palette swaps only? Oh ffs. Why am I not surprised?
The article doesn't say that there are only palette swaps, they just talk about them. We've known about them for some time and they're more than likely just placeholders until the actual 2P designs are released, which probably won't be for a while since they're usually revealed much later in development.
 
Why fighting games are losing the concept of alt costumes? It's the sickest thing in them :(
Because there's lots of money to be made out of them. Problem with this greed is that it fragments the content so when the time comes for the store to shut down then those that have brought the game at a later date are forever locked out of that content. To be fair to Bandai Namco's fighting game developers this hasn't been a thing like the way Capcom and EA have exploited the situation, I don't think I have to be too concerned of them doing this. I will be extremely disappointed if they do.

Weird seeing Nightmare with normal pants and boots. Almost seems like PS wasn't sure what to do for his lower armor break so they just threw on some pants and boots? Kind of an odd decision tbh.
Does look weird at first but then again after thinking about his whole design it does make better sense that the infestation hasn't taken over his lower extremity's yet.
