Someone in the youtube comments said that because Groh looks like he's from a more modern era he's a time traveler and what if Soul Edge's influence on him makes him the origin of the devil gene in Tekken and he brings it back with him? I'm shook.
This wouldn't be that bad ^^

From the looks of some animations, it looks like Nightmare and Siegfried are the same here. The holding victory stance was a give away. However, as others stated, they could still bring Siegfried in as another character with his own movesets. The trailer movesets was the nightmare movesets.

As for presentation, they may try to pull a fight club approach where he doesn't know he is nightmare.

The whole Nightmare riding a mount comes from here:

There was also a render of the same thing from the first Soul Calibur, but I can't find it right now >_<

Maybe that he's the middleground between Soul Edge (red) and Soul Calibur (blue), as in the RGB color standard.
I'll actually give them all the credit in the world if that was their intention.

"Grøh" is also pronounced like the French word for "fat", so he'll be my fattie main.
But then there's this. XD

I don't know if it's the same trailer you all watched, but in the JP trailer Nightmare's voice is clearly Nobuyuki Hiyama, the same one that Siegfried's always had since the beginning. It's a little pitch shifted but it's definitely him.
I was meaning to bring that up. Now for people to ponder if they bring Crispin Freeman back as Siegfried's English VA, continue to use Roger Craig Smith, or recasted him....

I'd honestly prefer a recast here, since Crispin Freeman is too epic and Roger Craig Smith is too refined for young Siegfried. They'd likely have to find someone new, though, since the one who voiced Nightmare in SoulCalibur II never did any other roles in anything else, and the one who voiced Siegfried in English back in SoulBlade is far too old for it now.

I wonder if Grøh's dad is gonna have a similar aesthetic or if he's going to look entirely different. It'll be interesting to see what kind of dynamic the two of them will have, as well.

I'm thinking Groh might not have two separate stances (swords apart and swords together) since we never actually see him holding the blades separately without attacking. He might just separate the swords during certain strings and animations.

But that does not rule Siegfried out at all. Sure, both were the same character for a while, but in SC3 and SC4, it was Siegfried's armor, filled with evil, right? Different characters, yet it would still make sense for it to be Siegfried's voice.

Hiyama stopped voicing Nightmare in SoulCalibur III-IV, though, since it was no longer Siegfried inside the suit. And then Masutani (Raphael's voice actor) voiced Nightmare in SoulCalibur V. It's very indicative of who is inside the armor based on the voice actor. So it's definitely Siegfried inside. It does not rule out Siegfried being a separate character, as he was in SoulCalibur I, but the voice actor is a very important factor to establish identity.

That would be very cool. When he looks in the "mirrior" he see's himself (Siegfried) and thinks he's doing noble things. But in reality he is consumed by soul edge and is causing mayhem.
