I hope they modify the NBS stance of nightmare, since its not exactly like in SCII, where you can 8wayrun. Here in VI there is just the option to run forward for the moment. I felt dissapointed when i saw that.
 
IDK how late I may be on this but I just noticed that all the returning characters costumes are combinations of SCI and SCIV costumes. So now Im just imagining what Ivy's costume will look like if this trend continues Kappa

I would love to see something like her 1p and 3p outfits from SC2, along with her stances from the same game.

do we know what Sophitia's SC is/does?
Like that of most characters, Sophitia's Soul Charge is just a generic hyper mode that increases damage, gives her access to extra moves and strings, etc.
also, is there a reference page that explains all the Soul Calibur gameplay mechanics, lingo, abbreviations, etc. that I see you all use?
 
I hope so. IV, V, and the direction Tekken 7 took give me reasons to dread the lack of single player content. I pretty much got to a point in V where it was all just art references using CaS.
Right now, my only interaction with SC5 tends to be making CaS of other characters (I even made Grøh in it) and put them against their rivals in Versus mode.

Don't even remind me of that thing. "Oh, hey, look, we have a different mode for arcade!" "Oh, great, how is it?" "Its like the exact same thing, except with a fucked up camera!". Seriously, what were they thinking? If they made a sexy mode where all characters in arcade used bath suits, it would have been better than that shit.
 
We need more modes that are accessible to ALL players and at least easier to work with.

I need something that is the equivalent of the Tower Challenge #300 from MK9 in this game
I also want to see some shit like Night Terror again
 
It's a shame when the clumsy edgy fighter now reigns in single player content. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Mortal Kombat fan and kind of hope that since two other iconic fighting game iconic villains are in Tekken 7 along with the convenience of one who would do well in Soul Calibur, Scorpion or Shao Kahn could be the guest. And the funny thing is that both SC and MK had the same guest character at one point. Anyways I just realized I somehow combined two of the hot topics in this post lol.
 
We need more modes that are accessible to ALL players and at least easier to work with. That's why Legendary Souls was a waste of time. Only pros are going to enjoy playing something that hard.
Oh honey, trust me no one enjoyed Legendary Souls. It's literally just the computer reading your inputs on crack lol

and we pros are aren't really playing these single player modes, we're in training vs or online lol that's it. And to be fair a mode like Broken Destiny's could help players get better at recognizing and understanding how to play Soul Calibur. Or any tutorial mode really.
 
Don't take this as confirmation of definitely being a thing, but I did hear there might be a trial/combo challenge mode thing.
I'm not sure which icon that would line up with though. But I suppose it is worth considering thinking about if they do.
That was the Gauntlets Mode in Broken Destiny, which means it can be both the tutorial and trial mode

Mitsurugi after his CE kills: "Can't get up? You're done for."

Wow that's lame, 'You're done for' isn't really the punchline I expected after 'Can't get up?'. It just seems weird and unnecessary, could have went with something much better.

To be honest I feel this way about most of the dialogue in SCVI so far. The voice acting has never been phenomenal and it's certainly not the worst it's been, but it doesn't have much impact and some of the lines feel like they got really poorly translated and nobody bothered to correct it :/

Groh's "Don't hold back, however I will" sounds bizarre to me too. I know he's supposed to be claiming he's so good he doesn't need to go full strength, but it just sounds weird and the delivery doesn't help.

Kilik's "Yes! It's my reason for living!" is delivered pretty funny too. Aside from being kinda weird, he sounds really chipper about it XD.

Matt Mercer's great (I like Leon and McCree) but he doesn't really sound like Mitsurugi to me when he's just talking (the battle cries are pretty good though). I feel like he could've tried harder to sound Japanese. Mitsurugi always had more strength in the way he spoke that Matt didn't quite nail this time.

It's mostly minor shit that isn't gonna matter probably but I wish they took a little more care on the dialogue since it's our main form of getting to know the characters and what they are like.

I really liked his voice in SCV, really sounded like an aged warrior, and a little Japanese. I agree about most VAs not being amazing, and I noticed Kilik's "It's my reason for living" too but oh well.
 
It might just be the fact that it's pretty late but anyone else noticing strange camera angles on some of the clips? It seems to favor the 1 player side and leans slightly to 3rd person / over the shoulder.

Kinda reminds me of the slightly hidden 3rd person mode in SCV. It does not seem to be in all the videos and is more obvious when looking at the character's feet. I wonder if this is a mode selection/single player element/just me.
