T.i.T8 vid thread, Hates vs sWord_lord MM

Managed to catch a decent number of matches including Hates vs sWord_lord's money match which will go down in soul history as just.... well you'll see.

So because I know a lot of Texas guys are just itching to see this again I uploaded it first and the rest will come as they come up.

Hates vs sWord lord

A must watch, most interesting piece of the footage as the lord tries to back down from what was originally a $500 dollar money match. He instead offers to money match for $45 but that doesn't go too well.

Who's got money on THE LORD vs. Hates (Sophie vs. Cervy)? Who's dumb enough to think that Hates will win? This will be 10-0 me, I want the $200. I might even sidebet on myself, that's mo money.

EP uses Cervantes? I got $100 first to 10 on me vs. any more Cervantes players who wants to take me on! I'm makin bank at this tourney.

Fuck it, I'm gonna make this more interesting. Any Cervantes other than Hates, I'll money match first to 10 for $1,000. I'll want that match first, cause you'd back out after I beat Hates. So, EP, Jesus, Nori....whats up? I might bump me and Hates match to $1,000...gotta think about that one......

I got a degree in finance and economics, I'm risk averse. I don't consider this a gamble, I KNOW I will win. I just wanna take advantage of those who don't understand my power level. In sc3 I was straight on Siegfried, in sc4 I'm super straight on Cervantes. I guess no one is man enough to take the bet tho, maybe $500? Hates, how bout we make our match first to 10 for $500, then $1000 if it's a 10-0 win either way? Ur the only person who has a chance to get any wins at all. Shit's more exciting when there's REAL money on the line.

The Lord has spoken?

i told ceirnian and a few other folks, and I thought hates was in flashchat also, when I said like 2 weeks ago , more than one time, more than one day, that I couldn't play for the same amount anymore cause I went on an unexpected vacation and spent way more than I wanted to. I was gonna play for $250 after that but Hates beat the shit out of my Sophie before that in the actual tourney, so I was pretty sure I would lose a FT10 only using Sophie. I had to concede defeat on that one.
When Hates agreed to let me use whoever, I went ahead and took that up. But...I shouldn't have used Sophie in that money match at all. Shoulda been solely Mitsu, Cassandra, and Amy. eh, I won with my weak ass Setsuka once tho.
Anyways, good shit to Hates, he is super straight on Sophie.

Hates would already have Amy scouted via Alex. Mitsu doesn't have enough tools to make him even a threat to Cervy IMO (2KB can only get you so far...). Cassie would've been your only reasonable bet, if any.

mitsu'd be good in the mix. i wouldn't have used him the whole time, but I did alright against hates with mitsu in casuals. Amy I have very little experience playing against people with. I don't have any Amy skill to carry over from sc3 either. U can see I fuck up alot with her, but part of that was nerves, part inexperience. But her just frame I can do consistently on a 360 pad, not so much on ps3. I was screwin up with Setsuka the most tho for some reason.

alex amy.. doesn't count for anything.. that is all ..... T_T

edit.. OPS!!!.. thank for the vids!!!!!!!!!!! ^_^b

i'm just glad for ONCE, swordlord has nothing to say but concede defeat, and he was just outplayed. Shows some level of maturity there i think.

THe result is no suprise though....not sure why he went that far with the boasts.

He did better with Amy than anyone else though

No...not really. Yes it did win more of the matches, but that amy was terrible. RTD can vouch for that since i sandbagged him for almost 20 games w/o breaking a sweat(literally)

STD's, lobo's, alex's, DevilJim's, and even my amy could've done better. hands down.

Long story short, yes, he did very well against h8's....but in the end, he talked shit he couldn't back up....Fuzion's right. If i were the ATL crew i'd drop his ass for putting up sooo much bs on the threads. However, it could've been a good ploy to build tremendous hype. because if that was the case...then the LORD did a great job :)

So I guess that means a terrible Amy can win 3 matches of a ft10 vs Hates. If he played amy the whole time he probably woulda won a couple more too. I think that says something about Amy...lol

2K, B punishes a lot of Cervante's moves. Hates lost in the tournament to the guy he tied for 5th w/, Agustin. And Hates is solid as shit and as much as he knows Mitsu, you still have to guess quite a lot. 2K, B has to be respected when you play as Cervantes.

I do agreed that whoever Sword Lord picked, he would have gotten smacked around.

Tiamat: Cervantes punishes Amy pretty hard. I haven't watched the vids yet, but as far as char vs char, I would much rather fight an Amy any day of the week than fight a Mitsu (again, this is as Cervantes player, not sure about other chars)

EDIT: Just saw the "Hype" video. That's just embarrassing. Hopefully, this teaches people to bet something outrageous like $1000 and praying people won't answer. And when people do answer, you back down. That's beyond sad

True. You can know mitsu all you want and 2KB will -still- hit you. It is a true 50/50.

The converse is true though; if H8's guesses right (and I swear to god he has reflexes like lightning, no homo), then that 2KB will get punished in the ass with Cervy's stun combos.

But outside of 2KB though, I retract my statement. A mitsu/cervy match is a respectable fight. I'd still pin the slight nod on Cervy though (purely character-wise).

Hates is solid is shit. I know the guy a LONG time. He is one of the reasons I'm still playing the pirate since WAY back in SC2 days. However, nobody can see 2K, B on reaction. Not only do you have to constantly be aware of the massive range it has, it punishes some pretty staple shit:

44B
WS A

And that's just to name a few. 236 used properly, mixed w/1[A] is hard to see. This is coming from many top players discussing this w/me in the last month. If you find a Cervantes player who punishes Mitsu's 1A w/iGDR on reaction even MOST of the time, let me know. I don't think Hates does, but I could be wrong. Ina tournament, you get 6K. That's it. So pretty much, if I'm mitsu, I'm throwing that shit out all day. Matchup is 5/5 IMO

I deal w/Agustin's Mitsu more than anybody on planet earth. Play the guy (or try to) at least once a week. It's come down to pure guessing. If I guess enough 2K, B then I win. If I don't, I'm fucked. 2K, B is satan
