Let's not talk about the boring SCV opening even though it's a beautiful CGI opening I wish they had only put it in story mode and feature every character and like a dramatic Leixia part where she gets the present from her brother and she runs away and theres a cameo of Xianguha in the window after guards run the street in search for her. and Pyrrha imprisoned and Tira walks up to the jail cell and breaks her out.

One word: Riki.

Reboot but nt from Soul Edge some chars havent enough age, back to SC III should be fine, or even by thee time of SC III would be good

Hm. I would like to see the story continue on if only, as other have said before, to give them a "second chance" to do the story that they really wanted.

Then again, I think an interquel between SC4 and 5 would also do the trick. It would allow the team to keep almost all of the fighting styles from SC4 and 5, while explaining the backstory behind some events such as:

* Amy -> Viola?
* Raphael -> Nightmare?
* ZWEI?
* Where's Zasalamel?
* Why did Cervantes get out of Astral Chaos and Cass didn't?

et cetera

Though, since they have introduced time travel by way of Astral Chaos, it's not entirely unfounded for some sort of reboot. Hell, maybe SC6 will just be another reiteration of SC5. Who knows? We probably won't hear a peep out of Namco for years. At best.

Hi there.

I'm thinking that a reboot would only work if the roster were filled with totally new characters *and new moves that are Fluid and totally unrelated to previous characters. And if there had to be a mimic- just the one would do, that would have the move set of the characters we know and love prior to scv.

Am I contradicting myself?

* I felt that scv brought in old characters that were frankly jaded and ran their course, Nightmare, Seigfreid (sp).... Mitsurugi..... why Algol? Why not?... To name but a few..

On the other hand if there is a soul calibur 6 I'd probably be in favour of having all of the old familiar roster back and perhaps having Goddess Taki and Natsu have a showdown.. Maybe have the villain as Natsu's demon whats-is-name...

And finally I'd love to see all of the characters have personality wipes so that they're less annoying. Leixia springs instantly to mind... she bugs me.... especially when she's playing against Maxipad..

Come on guys, this is the future of Soul Calibur thread. Let's keep on topic. Though I agree with the thoughts expressed about MK9, there's probably a thread in the video games forum to talk about that game. Also remember the general discussion thread here to talk about SC stuff not necessarily related to the future of SC.

With Critical Edge in the mix, I wonder what else is going to be inspired by Soul Blade in future installments.

From what I hear, but may or may not be true, Namco is working on developing the series, which could mean many things. Maybe enough to warrant a separate soundtrack like Super KHAN Session.

Makes me wonder what type of music would be included in SC. Probably pop-ish soundtracks. *rolls eyes*

Is there any confirmation that Namco is actually working on SC6 or super SC5 or whatever? Or are you just referring to the news that all the sub-groups got absorbed into Namco?

I sure would like to hear something indicating there will be more Soul Caliburs.
