Yes but the game has 7 end all be all characters, so character diversity is already better than KI and Injustice.

This is the low tier hero mentality. You win you are amazing, you lose it is understandable. The character clearly has tools to win against good players, so she can't be bad. If she was trash she would NEVER win against people who know how to play.
Let me give you an example. I don't even main NM, or play him all that much, yet despite the fact that I hardly use him, my win percentage is significantly higher. And using him I never feel like it takes all that much effort to win VS my main, Raphael.

Nightmare is more scrub friendly than Raphael. That is kind of like saying Asuka is god like in Tekken because online scrubs use her all the time.
Yes, there are always character specialists and loyalists who show us what the true potential it, like Shining Decapon with Tira. Keep in mind though that he won early in the game's lifespan before people really knew how to fight her.

Since that time, I have yet to see anyone win any major with Tira, Raphael, Zwei, Dampierre, or even fucking Hilde even though she's really not that bad at all.

Not in the USA. You also need to keep in mind that there isn't a great player (from the USA) that represents each character in this game. I've seen people mess around with Raphael as a secondary and make top 8 at a tournament.
Point being, even so called "slight differences in tiers" make a huge difference if you are even remotely skilled at the game. Even before I knew the frames and whatnot, it was pretty blatantly obvious who the best characters were. As time goes on, you will see a smaller and smaller group of 'viable' characters in the tournament scene much in the same say that just about every fighter ends up being like. Give it time, it will happen.

Maybe, but as time has gone on in this game, more characters have proven to be viable than the other way around.

I am fairly certain Reptile was being a bit sarcastic, but I think he made his point. He's pretty much saying that perfect balance would result in the sacrifice of the uniqueness of the character roster. I am also pretty sure Hyrul is over-exaggerating. Tier lists take (or try to take) the human element out of the equation when ranking characters, which is why you can't go by whatever your win percentage is.

Let me give you an example. I don't even main NM, or play him all that much, yet despite the fact that I hardly use him, my win percentage is significantly higher. And using him I never feel like it takes all that much effort to win VS my main, Raphael.

Tiers are based on how a character does across the entire roster, so you can't base your judgement on just one matchup. You also have to take the human element out of the equation because we don't know how proficient you are with these characters or who you are actually playing against and their level of proficiency, which is why tier lists only tell a part of the story.

Shining Decopon also won in France when people had plenty of time to figure out what to do to fight Tira. But we also don't have a lot of people who travel to tournaments. Can't expect Raphael to win if Raphael players aren't showing up to begin with.

And this is exactly the human element that you need to remove when considering tiers. APat is the second best character in this game, but if you have no clue how to use him, you're going to get fucked up for example.

As time goes on, we see a smaller group of tournament players because people get fucked up and quit, or with this game, players have less reason to travel because they can stay home and play online since it's not completely ass. Maybe we'd see things differently if we had turnouts like Street Fighter, but at this point, we can only take whoever decides to show up, not necessarily characters within the roster being less viable.

But SCV itself hasn't changed in two years. I don't see things changing much in terms of tiers because of how simplified the character roster is compared to previous games, how quick information is shared, and with the amount of people who already play multiple characters at a high level. At this point, it comes down to individual character and player matchups.

Yeah thanks, we learned that from you guys back in SC4 when you cheated Malek out of his tournament win and his deserved money by tactically rigging games. It was a true lesson about sticking together and shit.
