The SC Revival Thread

Lobo:Im gonna make this short because it seems there is justice in Jaxel allowing both this thread and Oofmatics thread to continue.

Lobo for someone who claims to be doing something for the community u sure troll and flame a lot. In fact a cause that I started in the online forum u also trolled. Why hinder something that might potentially benefit the community whether it be small or large. I get feedback in both threads; u get what. The thread gets revived for discussion. Oofmatics thread gets revived. Both threads deal with community interest. U do what? Flame and call me an idiot with a lot of attempted misplacement and switcharoo comments to make me look bad. Keep trying cause I have to inform u its not working.

The more u hate the more popular and in some cases influential I get. I was asked to do a blog portion for SC and I am honored to. I'll be sure to credit Jaxel, IdleMind, etc. for all their contributions even though I oppose them on bans and thread locks cause the truth is I respect them both I just have a strong opposing view on those issues.. Especially those two and I will be sure to credit u lobo with all the things that is wrong with the community. So please continue with ur hate filled trolling and flaming but elsewhere as it seems there is justice in Jaxel allowing this thread to serve its purpose and I am grateful.

Lobo I have never seen ur name in a SC offline anything. Something to think about for a supposed helper.

I hope the mods such as Jaxel just keep deleting ur posts and the start giving u infractions.

yes you are super popular and influential :/

so popular in fact that you are a running joke to...well pretty much everybody. i am what's wrong with the community? well then i apologize for the years i have spent organizing, assisting, hosting and contributing to tournaments since, oh, 2002. i find your attempts inflate your own head with online players hilarious; almost as much as your name dropping jaxel three times in one post. ROFL

please continue to disrespect the people who try and make an offline scene. please continue to badmouth those who strive to make tournaments happen, and even those who strive to make you a part of them. please continue to pursue your SC 'career', not for love of the game, but for want of money. please continue to insult those who would pay just to include you in their competition because you do not find it financially lucrative. how strange and pathetic it must be to be completely driven by money and yet have none of it. finally, please blog about this and link it here so that i can have a good laugh and save it for future community destroying trolling.

please come to gamme lobo, i wanna see a boxing match, you vs SU, ft1. or better yet, make it a tables, ladders, and chairs, tv's, and controllers match.

1st. of all, they're rules mods have to follow. Mods need to look that shit up before they act, apparently.

2nd. I want a fucking reason why a thread is getting locked, posted by the mod who does so at the end of the thread...especially opinionated threads like this.

3rd. These discussions got done with a long time ago. I want new ideas and opinions if we opening new controversial threads like this.

4th This is how it is, anything that hampers the growth of the community, be it characters, glitches or even god forbid people, is pretty much subject to be banned. That's what tourney organizers have come to realize.

That's pretty much the guideline to banning stuff.
In the future we will address things a little bit more cautiously but SC5 isn't here yet so no point in worrying about it.
Here in the know, SC is being revived, thx to a large number of hard working individuals.

And that's the bottom line.

So we done here?

Also everything MO TEMPEST said has already been said countless times, he late.

I think by discussing issues we can try to prevent major problems in the future. I'd say a large number of people don't like the way things went down in the community(I'm assuming) for SC4 and rather than doing nothing we can try to rationalize things and prevent issues of a similar nature in the future. If it all fails and we end up back here in SC5, that'll be too bad but at least we tried. Also people are willing to try and change things now, those who feel it's not important at the present moment are not forced to contribute.

SU: your signature shouldn't be "New Motive" it should be "New Objective/Mission/etc" or something

Thanks for the advice. Noted and fixed.

Everyone else just whiff the trolls. I just want to get as much feedback on community related issues for reference later.

SC Free Discussion thread regarding community related problems

there really is nothin to talk about anymore. mods are lame though, this ain't a paid job (unless ur Jaxel) so who gives a shit. yall never heard of laissez faire. for sc5, only atlanta, france, and DR players should have a say in what gets banned, then things would run smoothly.

DR? oh what? soulcalibur is big in the dominican republic? lol

*reads threads*

In regards to my post... If I wanted to call somebody out in particular, I would have. It's not a subliminal, It's pretty straight forward. If you fit the bill, feel guilty or offended. I was talking about you. Learn from your mistakes already...it costs you, was my point. If it sounds redundant, it's because the root of the problem never changes and people leave because of it.

You would think that people would learn from with how the Tekken community handled T4 jin and T5 Steve infinite or the Soul Calibur community handled G2/JFC in SC2 and VC in SC3...among other things. I pray that Namco makes a better game. Hopefully they will, maybe they won't.... but if they don't it is our responsibility to make sure the game lives on. Not once in the history of me being around the SC community (10 years) have they/we picked up the slack and stepped up when the issue is fresh instead of point fingers or argue in circles about things that are more broken than they aren't, and came together to make a good decision/compromise about these things with the game and the overall communities best interest, above all else at heart. Not when the game was at its prime.

I personally have never feared broken shit in any SC game enough to cry BAN for non-belief in my own abilities to overcome the handicap; however, I realize that everybody doesn't find it challenging to fight against retarded odds, and therefore attempt to step outside of myself to speak for a large amount of the community. Why? Because I care and want to see the game do well. But you know what? I'm always left waiting. Waiting for Namco to make a game without huge flaws so I won't have to depend on an online message board to balance my game for me. Whether you believe it or not, it’s within the community's power to fix these issues.

Off topic -

Not that I care...but I've heard that some people hold me responsible for killing Soul Calibur in SoCal. LOL to that. I stopped playing for my own reasons. I have never told a single person to stop playing Soul Calibur or not to associate with the community on/offline. I have also never said "Ban Hilde". To the contrary, I tried to open a discussion where people could come to some kind of compromise...but the thread got no love. I suppose nobody did. Well...at least not when it mattered and the majority of people still played. Personally, I didn't feel all butthurt, I simply moved on and have been playing other games and enjoying life like I would assume everybody that stopped playing did. No grudges, no hate. If your response to me after all of that is good riddens, then I don't know what to say other than you are what brings this community down. I still support SC when I play with friends like King Salmon, Naomi, Semi, Unconkable, Beffy, ect...and I still support serious competitive play (went and played at EVO, even though I stopped playing prior as well as traveled to Devastation and our regionals to support ). I am not shitting on any type of revival...hell, I went on a mission and tried to revive SC3 in SoCal with my Hardcore title challenge...and tried to travel a bit to play anybody that was interested (Shinobi01, Binkley, Outkast ect) and I didn't even like that game. If Something-Unique can use my post as a catalyst to bring about some type of discussion or change...cool. I didn’t ask to be quoted, or think what I had to say is more important than what anybody else has to. As a fan of the series and a longtime member of the community, it just sucks to watch this happen over and over...and over again.

nah I'm pretty sure it was Aris who turned everybody in socal off of this game

don't know why anybody would accuse you

Righteous speech.

Disclaimer: no i'm not making fun of his post.

I am beginnning to see on what you're referring to. But a couple of questions have come accross my mind.

1. When you say, "over and over and over again" what EXCATLY did you mean? i don't want to be thrown off on that statement. I wanna know where you talking about this happening since SC2, or just strictly SC4. Because i took it on just Strictly SC4.

2. If any of my posts (the few that are left) offended on what you've been saying. speak up, let me know what's up and i'll try to rephrase is the best way i can.

Either way, it's clearing on how this whole "banning" issue came about. (for me anyways...) It began with VC in SC3. I couldn't do G2, in SC2 but i dealt with it. blah blah blah...

Here's the thing that get's me. People talk shit about this company not doing anything for the community, however they DID post a poll on how to make SC4 to where it pleases EVERYONE. Problem is that the "hardcore" players bitches that it caters to the new peeps and the SW Geeks. Some people just don't understand that they are a business. And in order to have the resourses (aka cash) to make future installments, they need to cater to the other geeks as well. I'm sorry to say but w/o those geeks do you HONESTLY think that SC would've survived? Be honest. I don't see Tekken needed a guest character because it thrives in the East. (plus it has an arcade scene...) to get back on topic, Namco has SHOWN us that they'll listen to the community, but having the community create hate threads about had bad the company is treating them is stupid also. That's like biting the hand that's trying to feed you.

Here's what needs to be done, honestly. (i will be doing this in the Amy, Cass, Voldo, and Asta forums...) is to create threads on how to improve your character OR if your character is too strong, how to tone it down. I'm pretty sure that everyone wants that variety of characters when it comes to tournaments. Even the guest characters, let them play. I wouldn't care as long as they seemed balenced.

1) You answered your own question.

Specifically I was talking about those glitches in previous games and Hilde in SC4. Algol was allowed and it was stupid in my personal opinion, but I could at least see the argument in that and respected the decision to allow him. Hilde on the other hand is/was stupid from jump. What else is there to say...either ban her or come to a compromise. There were plenty of good ideas floating around here to contain the problem. Truth of the matter is people: A) Thought I'd be interesting to let her be B) played the character themselves and were biased because of it C) Wanted to wait until they themselves could fight a top Hilde to see if they could beat it or D) Just didn't care. Nobody can tell me they thought she was fair...and if you tried the argument, you already lost. Now I'm guessing most note worthy players just wanted to try their hand at it...which is fine, but it's selfish. People convince themselves that there is a way around Hilde. I'm not gonna say they're wrong...but i'd say if you beat a truly top Hilde that knew the character in and out, you moreso beat the player as opposed to the character. Certain characters just don't have the tools to win consistantly or the matchup is like 1:9. That sounds broken to me. They're are better ways of handling it than wait

2) Why would I think you've offended me? I didn't say anything to you directly. I wouldn't care even if you did... I'm a grown man. I've got better things to do than go back and forth over a message board with people that put more energy into trolling and looking for acknowledgement on the forums because they can't earn it with their level of their play. Disclaimer: I'm not making fun of you

As for you .2 cents, I can get with that. Glad to see you're stepping it up.

One of the few who really understand the scale of this.

There are opinions that become opinionated facts that try to become facts.
As a person, I honestly think certain threads with this going on become silly.
The only vibe I get from certain threads such as these are:

"I beat off of a certain person's logic...."
"My opinion is most righteous and it's correct!"

"What an absurd and amusing topic...."
"Ugh....wall of text that goes in a circle..we done now?"

Initially, I thought this thread would be catering to reviving a SC community.
But I guess I was wrong. All I get from this topic is those quotes I listed.
So why do I come back to this thread countless times to see what's up?
Look at the quote in red.
