Ring: Hell no. Everyone calls Sophitia a punishing character. She is definitely one of the best characters at it, but I play a mixup oriented game because I love her mixups. Also, because this is friggin soulcalibur not tekken. I like to think primarily, not react. So I don't waste my time looking to punish moves when I wanna play friggin' mind games. And also, I much prefer using a varied version of her TAS B combo so that it does more like 1/3 life dmg instead of an unreasonably cheesy 1/2 life.

Word to 8wayrun, I play fair. All u other haters can't compare. Grab a chair. Take a seat right over there. Sophitia's mammaries make me stare. I win money matches on a dare. As I'm typing this my ass is bare. My music is a blare. Wtf, why are there so many rhymes with care. My favourite RE character is Claire. I would hug her like a bear. I bring the heat like a flare. You guys lose with despair, and ur soft like a teddy bear. I'm moneymuffins, this is my lair. So tell filthierich to ban ivy on his questionnaire!

Okay. I got one more rhyme for this whole gang. I once went to France to show them my big Hwang.

i usually do TAS B > 3b > TAS B. still cheesy huge damage but easier to do imo and slightly better oki.
 
Why are people stating Ivy is OP? The issue is she's good and because of how complex she is a lot of people are simply ignorant on how to fight her. She is not good at EVERYTHING. She's limited by the fact she loses advantages when she changes stances and cannot instantly access "all" her answers to every scenario, she has to prepare for it. As well her step is poor outside of CL, she lacks a back stepping attack, and her punish game is very weak outside of whiff punishing.

The SW A+B is in need of nerf sure...but that's it. The players doing well with her have put a LOT of effort into the character...the character does not play itself. Amy, Hilde, Algol are all more worthy of issue than Ivy and even then I still look at other characters and question (Yoshi and Voldo).

And I'm not saying that those characters are broke, I'm just pointing out they have specific tactics and tools that would be brought to question before you arrive at Ivy. I'm fine with all of them spare Hilde. Ivy's just not the worst thing out there and it's weird that there's so many complaints. If people played the character they would know. Outside of online lag abuse, she's very difficult and you must compensate for her stance weaknesses on the fly.=
 
uh you sophie players should at least be able to hit the non-JF 4 after TAS B (tip) TAS B which is better than any other followup iirc

uh you sophie players should at least know your options. TASB > 3b is still 100+ dmg + better oki + W! in the right position. D:
 
Why are we debating characters? Aren't we supposed to be debating people being scrubby?

seriously how can you even think ivy isn't on the same level as amy and voldo? Algol is the weakest of the top tiers and some don't even think hes top tier also ivy has a 6-4 in her favor against him
yeah she isn't easy as balls but neither is yoshi. I feel you on yoshi being retarded ON PAPER, but thats where my agreement ends no one on earth has the execution to make him top tier broken by nailing 44Bb combos and 4A:A:A:A infinites everytime

pretty shitty resets, but I guess that's viable too, you just lose a lot of damage in exchange for a free sophie mixup. wasnt really talking about by walls anyway. Obviously the best followup by a RO edge is 6B, but I don't call you out on not mentioning that.

TAS B 3B TAS B is equal to TAS B TAS B4... you just won't ever get the :4 or miss it completely. After you get to a certain proficiency with the JF, double TAS B is better.
