Tira - Video and Discussion Thread

I like your movement, something I suck at, but I can't help but wonder why you never use CE?
Because the ce doesnt allow that much more damage then her regular combos, also tira is a meter dependant character. She does some really great things with 50% meter so using a whole bar is a bit expensive. And thanks for the compliments.

MY movement vs the long range spacing characters isnt very good, the long range characters(hilde, ivy, astaroth, nightmare, siegfried,) are giving me loads of problems. Its so hard to get in and stay in. And the all have decent up close options. Maybe not siegfried. And yoshimitsu is also another character who is runaway from me alot and telporting with his variest moves.

I dont like using PS3 controllers in this game but here are a few vids

Tira and Voldo. Won most matches

Tira and Lexia. My first match against her. Lost most matches

there were definitley alot of noticeable things in the voldo match that i liked and learned from:
gs 66b>(blocked)>2a
js 1a>(hits)>Ce

And its nice to see similar pressure tactics (gs 22b twice in a row, the use of 66be, using 2a as an interupter, using 2b to fight voldo) that we share, my ONLY AND BIGGEST gripe is your use of b+k. I strongly believe it should be used defensively only not offensively and so many tira's do it after alot of the same things like gs 66k.

I use B+K all the time. I don't necessarily use it after a specific move, but.. It's quite usefull. All moves you're able to counter in Jolly give you a hefty amount of gauge and you often take little damage. It's actually one of my most-used moves against non-Mitsurugi/Nightmare/Astaroth/Siegfried characters.

you know how badly you can get blown up for doing that move? it has a shit ton of recovery it can be grabbed, and its repell period is very small. How can u call it the most used move? Its not even an attack.

Yeah, kiddoh. B+K is MY MOVE! I use it all the time. I know every single move that can be done on it. I observe the player's style, check their most used moves, and DESTROY THEM! lolol

I had a hard time learning the yoshimitsu match, and im sure the players a tad better in tournament play. Nonetheless these were crazy ass matches, lol pretty much me chasing yoshimitsu all over the board. Also if anybody has a better wall combos then one i used please let me know. Oh and any help regarding this match-up that can be given will be greatly helpful. =)

The staple wall combos I recommend are:

JS 3B W! 44K BT B+K (W!) BA+B GS 88B 66B

GS 3B W! 4B+KB W! 3B into whatever for ease. You can try 4B: B: B for more damage but the chance of mood change and mistakes is higher.

Far as the matches go I have two things to note. Duck the third part of Yoshi 33BB+KA+B. 2nd work on hit confirming. You lost some damage when you didn't follow through sometimes like with GS 4A. Be careful about doing GS 3AA as a frame trap. Educated players will duck the 3rd hit and punish you. GS BB is same speed so try that if you don't think they'll step.

With that wall combo, if you stay in Jolly you can obviously do 66B BE and that combo or if you can't react to the change (or lack thereof) fast enough, you can do JS 22_88B 2K. 1B/2B can be side teched, but 2K has to be fairly close range, so you'll have to pay attention to which direction you should run to push them at the wall.

Edit: Other good wall combos--
GS 3A.A BE W! (small delay) 22_88B 66B 117 (66B BE=127 666B = 138 damage. 666B BE=150)
GS 3A.A BE W! 4B+K.B W! 3B preferred ender. This too angle-specific for me.. :/

since there is a 2 splat limit I do stuff like:

GS 3AA BE W! GS 3B, 3A+B, 4A, 4K, 66B (or 666B BE meter permitting). I think one of my recent toronto tourney vids has me hitting that, I'll try and dig it up if it's still valid post patch.

What happened to the Aussie players for the event? The Australia representative said he didn't really play the game

This is true. He is a tekken player . Our Impact tournament was single elimination organized by Gamespot that happened prior release. Alot of scrubs attended and he came out ontop. i was there but couldnt compete because there were too many at the event. It was a truely unfair imo, since the other Impact tournaments happened after game release. It wasnt even advertised as a 'Soul Calibur Impact' tourney. All that was mentioned was that the winner would fly to Europe to compete in another tournament.
