Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Ghost rider looks like an anti-zoning character, nice stuff. I'm really interested in seeing how virgil will play, I can see him playing a little bit like trish with traps. Actually he might play like a combination of trish and dante, dam I'm excited for virgil. Oh and Firebrand looks ridiculous.

Literally my brains blew all over my computer when I came across this shit. Capcom fanboys time to bend over.
Hahahaaha OMG.
I knew it was coming but man, surprised me anyway.

I hope they nerf x factor so that I can watch some interesting tournament vids.

They could have done everyone a favor and just released strider as DLC and patched shit...All other characters look really shitty. And the new look hurts my eyes.

But I don't play the game I just watch. Fight for my amusement.

What does everybody think about the new look for the health bars and such?

I think that the new look is complete ass, just like all the other capcom games...

Strong rumors started circulating that a super version was coming out within weeks of the original game's release. That's kind of why I held off on buying the game and played my brother's instead. Pretty incredible that they're releasing a new version within 8 months after the first game. Poor Capcom fans; canceled Megaman Legends 3 and now your MvC3 game is already obsolete.

Still... I think I finally have a team now. Vergil, Firebrand and Dr. Strange.

As for Vergil, I suspect he'll be exactly like his DMC3 self. Since that's the only version that we've got of him. So it's likely he'll have Beowulf and Force Edge moves with him. Which means we could see Lunar Phase, Shooting Star, Round Trip, Stinger and more. Since Yamato is his signature weapon, it also means that we'll see Judgment Cut and Rapid Cut, though I wonder if those will be his supers. Obviously, he'll have his Devil Trigger as a super, but it's likely he'll be a lot more limited in terms of moves compared to Dante and rely more on power hits and speed. Maybe he might be more beginner friendly than Dante (in DMC3, some players seem to better able handle Vergil over Dante for some reason or another). I think - knowing Capcom - they'll end up making him fairly execution heavy. Though it would be interesting if they made some of Vergil's moves based on holding down buttons (like Zero) so you could execute moves like Round Trip after a combo to extend it and push offense. I wonder how they'll handle Dark Slayer, though. It's not exactly a teleport in DMC3.

Looking at Firebrand, his entire movelist is based on his Red Arremer from Super Ghouls and Ghosts, including his dive-bomb and fireball. Seems like he might have something from Demon's Crest too (his stone form is definitely pulled from there). I noticed that he has Flight (like Storm and Thor), I wonder how effective it'll be in the real game, maybe it might even be fairly practical. I also noticed that he has an attack where he launches a fireball down at the enemy and it explodes creating a little fire wall on the ground. Seems like Firebrand could play lockdown pretty well.

As for Dr. Strange... I have nothing. The guy's been something of a Deus Ex Machina in the Marvel Universe. No real signature powers or weaknesses and he tends to float between god mode and typical Marvel hero. At best, he might fight somewhat similar Dormmamu. Probably a lot faster, though.

Someone posted the move lists for the four revealed characters (to be playable at SDCC?)

That can't be all their moves. What about Strider's Ragnarok? Also... really Capcom? Making Ghost Rider DP-heavy like that?

It's never all their moves. It's the same for all the other existing characters. I don't understand why they don't show all of them.

I'm excited for this game despite believing it's far too soon for an update of this caliber. Firebrand, Strider and Hawkeye look great. I'm not too fond of Ghost Rider just yet outside of his level 3, but I feel like I need to see more of him.

I really like most of the new additions too. I'm definitely happy that Phoenix Wright is being added and Frank West is returning. I'm interested in playing Rocket Raccoon as well. I just need to see them in game now.

I've already thought of making a secondary team with the newcomers Firebrand, Rocket Raccoon and Frank West, but I'm also looking to see how the three of them work with members of my current team of Viewtiful Joe, Amaterasu and Chris Redfield.

Omg SUCH FAIL!!!!
On the one hand, fuckin stoked that we're getting a new one (and soon at that.)
On the other...What the fuck is up with that LIFE BAR!?!?!? Shits HUGE! and fuckin ugly. Everything jus went to shit. The announcer is speaking through a radio or something? They TRIED remixing the winning theme that didn't touching to. Ugh and the character choices?
Did we REALLY need Ghost Rider? Dorm was pimp enough, Rider is plain ass. There are NO WOMEN. NOOOOOO WOMEN!??!?!?!? U fuckin serious!?
Cammy and Emma Frost woulda been good choices. But at least theres Dr. Strange.
Not so hyped anymore, but it'll still get my money.

I'm *personally* let down by most of the Marvel choices. Dr. Strange? Fucking *awesome*.

Hawkeye would have been a fine choice if we didn't ALREADY HAVE TASKMASTER

Nova? All I'm saying is, it better not be the herald of Galactus Nova. There are enough characters on fire in this game.

Rocket Raccoon.....seriously!? SERIOUSLY, guys? You only have six slots to explore a universe with a thousand characters and....you go with Rocket Raccoon?

You've only read about em?
It's not Frankie Raye, its the hero Nova, who until I see some baller-ass gameplay, was a shit choice in my opinion too.
People are saying Hawkeye was only cause of the Marvel movies but, yea. Super shit choice.

Rocket Racoon had to be there to promote Marvel's new material.

Honestly, its the same case for X-23, MODOK and others, albeit to a lesser extreme.

Although arguably, I would've gone with Ms. Marvel as an FF representative (Valeria Richards/Valeria Von Doom)

Bullshit, they could have used Quasar, Starlord, Gamora (then there would have been a chick, no less), Drax. Hell, I would have taken Groot over fucking Rocket Raccoon.

Though, that being said, now that I know Nova is Rider and not Frankie, the choices aren't as bad as my initial reaction made it seem. (except for Rocket Fucking Raccoon).

Ghost RIder: I don't care for Ghost Rider, but he's got a flaming skull and a motorcycle, which means he has thousands of fans. He is a sort of populat/cult character so, whatever, I'm fine with that.

Dr. Strange: as I said before, he is awesome. First off, they've used his villains for like three or four games now, it's about time he made an appearance. I look forward trying out the former (and hopefully, once again, future) Sorcerer Supreme.

Nova: I've actually always really enjoyed the Nova character and the way they developed him and made him an important/prominent character in annihilation was *awesome*. Plus, his costume redesign is sick.

Iron Fist: I actually enjoy Iron Fist as a character, I think I only got disappointed because his power-set/abilities are bland and he's just going to be another rushdown character who will probably have no interesting concepts. (prove me wrong, Capcom)

Hawkeye: Like I said, if I'd heard Hawkeye on the initial MvC3 roster, I'd have been hype. I love Hawkeye. The thing is, we *have* Taskmaster, and I thought the whole point of characters like Taskmaster and Super-Skrull is it allows, in a manner, capcom to cram more characters into limited slots. Super-Skrull gave us the whole FF in one character slot. There's no reason to put Taskmaster in the game, give him all of hawkeyes abilities, and then put Hawkeye in.

I think my real disappointment comes from being a fanboy and hoping to see those character slots filled a little differently. And trust me, I get that certain characters are thrown in for cross marketing purposes and I understand that, I just think they could have done both. If I had to choose 6 marvel characters to add to MvC3 it'd look something like this

1. Dr. Strange
2. The Sentry
3. Mimic (I don't care if they used 616 or Exiles mimic, both would be cool and, like super-skrull, would be a way to cram several characters in one slot. Regular mimic would add the entire orignal X-Men roster to the game, exiles mimic would add cyclops, colossus and northstar)
4.Quasar (To push the "cosmic" Marvel sub-brand. I like Nova more, but Quasar I think would be a more interesting FG character, plus he'd fill the "obscure" quota)
5. Black Panther
6. Ms. Marvel

Lot of changes to current content confirmed...I'm actually hype and I really didn't think I would be. Roster is now 50 and it seems we are going to get reasonable content with all the tweeks. The tiers are going to go all over the place from what they are now as some of the nerfs are sounding good and some of the added moves seem really neat...I may use Ryu over akuma now. I just hope we see less 1 combo kills now

Good thing I didn't end up buying the first one. *rubs hands together, evily*

Shame we couldn't squeeze another x-man in there. Psylocke? Gambit? Rogue? All woulda made great fighters.
