Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Gah Captain America is so good now. He's fuckin scary on my team. A simple combo with him into RR is about 800k for 2 meter and I can get it off almost anything (which is great when you have pendulums and cartwheels flying around). I feel like I have 2 solid teams now:

Task(vert)/Storm(whirl)/Akuma(tatsu) - my vanilla team
Cap(charge)/RR(pendulum)/Hawk(horiz)

Now to find a 3rd team...I think I need a Ghostrider team too. The only assist i can see doing well are Strider and Doom tho...hmmm.
 
I think I'm gonna stop playing online...I have about 55 losses...I probably only deserved 3 of those...Seriously it just drops the stupidest shit on me all the time and i get punished on guaranteed wins or safe things. Add in the fact I need to spam hawkeye all the time...it's just happy bdays all fucking day when i should be covered. Doesn't help that RR and Hawkeye don't fair well online (RR has shitty normals and hawkeye is only amazing when you can actually line up your arrows accurately)

Vergil is almost as god damn derpy online as the dog. Every noob is flooring me with him cause i cant get a punish timed. I'm getting so sick of that character. I need to go own some people offline *nerd rage!*

but yeah my team is good, the only thing that's urking me is how far forward hawkeye stands on assist, he seems to get hit by characters facing the other direction when i cross over with my point character.

I feelz ya bro, i don't know what happened from my transference from MvC3 to UMvC3, my 400 wins to 100 losses won't be coming back any time ever because Vergil is the new on point poster boy of DOOM, i myself lost about 19 times last night becase of exactly what you said. now normally i don't care about winning but when most use the same stun lock combo trick just to win... yeah rage quit time lol.

Getting ready to sell both UMvC3 and MvC3 soon before something bad happens. :I
 
I initially felt that the online was going to be better this time around, but in fact it feels the same and sometimes worse!

Vergil, Zero, and Strider assist = DERP HERP DERP shenanigans all day, it's dumb and there appears to be an input delay because all of my combos and hit confirms will not connect at ALL.

1 Taskmaster B+H should lead to at least 400k damage or something, but it hits and nothing appears to be connecting afterwards, not even a super.

I activate a super but during the flash, the enemy seems to recover instantly and block after one friggin hit!!

Also, it seems that all of my attacks have no hit-stun at all ONLINE, because Taskmaster's BnB will not connect after the first swing, yet my opponent who anti-airs me with s.L or the dreaded cr.L mash gets to land about 5 LIGHT ATTACKS and gets full combo, what gives! I tested my combos and everything and it is not supposed to drop ever (within the first 10 or so hits with no light attacks whatsoever), but they get to mash L and get massive hit-stun and damage... I don't understand why?
 
In someways it feels improved over MvC as now timing wise things seem better, but I swear to god now it straight up drops inputs. I can't tell you how many cancels fail to come out leaving me wide open. Trying to bait people into a hyper cancel often just turns into me throwing my self into a free punish and no hyper. Basic flow chart play just goes out the window.

Omly thing goin well for me is Cap still does very well online (when his cancels work) and Hawkeye can derp me out some wins too with his hyper...when it feels like working (seriously wtf is making a simply QCF+AA so hard to register online?!?)

Games great offline, just online it's aggravating losing to worse players consistently. I have only faced 2 people I deem in my level play...but my ratio says otherwise.

And Vergil is derpy ONLINE...key note.
 
IvyFanboy, if you play PS3, Add me, i promise i suck and won't be an ass spamming noob. honestly i just wanna have a carefree only play and my friends are never on when i play. :I

I think I know the answer to your problems. Put Sentinel as your anchor, and just go hard on those drones. If all else fails, dat 2M and j.S will save the day in XF3.

I honestly never recommend online play for any fighting game. It just does not compare in terms of experience, reliability, and overall fun, to offline play.
 
I'm more than aware of online vs offline. Even so, I like to use it as a means of practicing basics with new characters (my vanilla team beats people stupid). The irritation just comes from the fact I was hoping UMvC would still be a lil more playable than this and I can't even get inputs to come out. Before I complained about basic delay, but not having ANYTHING occur is pissing me off. In MANY of my losses I had the match won and lost it because an input straight up dropped and fucked me out of a win into a punish. My win ratio really doesn't matter as ranked is about as legit as SC4s...meaning it doesn't matter and likely VERY inaccurate. It's just a fun feature i would like see finally work as it does for SF3 (which is awesome...spare the fact i don't like SF much).

Maybe if I'm lucky Marn will pop in again at my Tuesday meets and I can't get some real people beat me >_< I'm tired of deez scrubs.
 
Hey guys..I finally have a chance to play the game. I'm doing mission mode at the moment. I really like Phoenix Wright. but I got a problem. It seems you have to use a different attack button every time you pick up evidence. Is this true or is this a better way? I also have an easy bind for wavedashing. All I do is press R2 and mashing down. so godlike.

I got more where that came from. I need get on PSN, so I can finally get these costumes.

Edit: Which reminds me, I'm going to stop doing Doctor Strange's mission mode and go to Chun-li's mission mode.
 
Ghost Rider+ Hidden missles with Dorm as anchor= Free wins online. It's so disgusting how well Ghost and Missles lock people down. I had people getting mad at me for just spamming J.S with Missles they were cursing me out on mics and sending me hate mail. Not my fault that shit works so well that I don't need to do anything else, shit learn to get around it and stop complaining.

I did get humbled though when I played in a lobby today as I was getting bodied by some online heroes, I realize that online play is making me lazy and I haven't spend enough time in practice working on set-ups or getting my defense where it needs to be. I need to learn how to be great at this game and not be satisfied being mediocre.

Please tell me how to be great at this game, what exactly do I need to work on?

Just go to practice mode like me. I'm starting to like the game more by playing it offline. BTw, if you need a solid PW team. I found one.
