Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

oh really? I never tried that combination, I use Zero, Chun-Li, and Wesker >=) try that one

ok....So I picked this game up cause it was my sons b-day and he really wanted it. It didnt really look apealling to me. BUT....after playing it, its actually kinda fun. Unfortunatly I have never played any of the MvC games and am kinda lost.

I was hoping someone on XBL can sorta guide me and gimmie some pointers. Im having trouble with air combos (I press A,8 and just mash buttons in the air) Ive been just mashing buttons for the most part and winning. Havent played any online yet tho.

I would love to learn this game properly. Im currently using Ryu, Dante, and either Hulk or akuma. any one wanna train me!!

Best advice is to go through the missions, with everyone and see who you like to play with. Once you get the missions you realize a lot of people can combo pretty much the same. Most air combo's are this Air.m Air.m Air.h Air.S for most everyone really.

You gotta learn what parts of a combo are mashable and what parts aren't. There will be points you want to be slow and accurate, other times use a rhythm, and others mash. Every character is different with this too. Almost all characters can do MMHS in the air, but may require timing differences. Some you want to wait till your at the apex of the jump to start, others early, some may want you to slowly input parts. On ground combos I've learned with Trish and Morrigan to always hit LM quickly, then hit H when I hit confirm. If I try to L and with M wont connect, but H I can wait for. So play around with timings and look at videos to grasp when they're inputting.

Also consider making your own combos. Trish in the guide has LMHS, j.M 2H 214L, double jump, j.MMH 2H 236L 236AA. I fuck up the 214L part all the time so I cam up with: LMHS, j.M 2H, land, LMHS, j.MMH 2H 236L 236AA. It's nearly the same damage and meter, but it's easier, more consistent, and the timing is generally do things as fast as possible rather than play with the time intervals.

Also pick up the guide, it's really worth it.

On another note...fuck sentinal still. Although Ammy j.H/2.H spam is fucking funny on him.

GOD I FUCKING HATE DEADPOOL.
Online scrubs pick Deadpool ALL THE FUCKING TIME
I am seriously going to kick a puppy if I fight another deadpool.

Taskmaster is one easy to pick up guy!

He does a lot of damage from a simple combo, he takes quite the beating, and is fairly fast. His regular movement is rather slow, but when moving during a combo he's as swift as a cockroach like when someone turns on the light in the kitchen and it dashes under the refrigerator...

For the most part, most characters have a L,M,H,S combo starter, given a few exceptions (dormammu, sentinel, hulk I think) but for the most part, some of the combos can be learned through the mission mode, just look at the mission objectives for all of the inputs.

^appreciate that. Started going through some of them. Some of this shit is pretty tough. There was one in particular of Dantes. some thing Air 236 L, then jam session H. Dunno why but took me awhile to get that one.

Im tired of my 11 year old son frantically hitting buttons and busting out big damage combos. He picked up how this game works in like 20 minutes seems like!! I need some online training. cuz online is the best thing ever!!

Wheres enkindu at!! Ima fuck that guy up!! HEEHE

Never gonna happen, HRD!

Come on man....theres gotta be something I can beat you at. Lets have a "Pull out a motor in a 66 mustang" race. I bet Id get ya on that one.
Regardless of how you treat me like an unwanted ex-girlfriend. Ima seek you out for help with this game, rather you like it or not....hahahaha

BTW yall. Hows the netcode for this game? Compared to sc4?

You can't do tighter combos (don't even think about playing X-23), but it's doable, for the most part.

X-23 online brings sadness to me daily. I'm forced to do only LMHS, j.MMH 2H 236L, land, 236M....rather than uber cool, more damaging, and better meter building:

LMHS 214H, j.MMH, land, forward jump, j.MMHS, land, forward jump, j.MMH 2H 236L, land, 236M (full)

That is NEVER going to land online...EVER...T_T

The top 4 scrub characters to use online are: Ammy, Zero, Dante, and Sentinal (derrrrr). The first 3 can just mash for easy combos while having very easy hit confirms and constant forward movement to offset advancing guard. Their basic combos are stupid easy and lead to convenient DHCs. Sentinal needs no explanation. I'm finding rush down characters are the easiest to pick up. They're REALLY mash friendly and super easy to hit confirm off anything for a basic combo.

Damn, people just can't play games and have fun anymore.

Regardless, I thought MvC2 players were supposed to be known for playing regardless of the bullshit?

Lmao.

Game still new, man what I feel is this game is gonna be come pretty zoning heavy to avoid the insane damage. I know that's what SSBM became for a minute cause people didn't know what to do against shines for awhile (those are instant KO's basically). Bunch of bitchin' if you ask me.

Netcode for this game is a lot better than other games, generally capcom online games are better. BUT like all things vs. online you will not get the full version of playing with people face-to-face.

I agree with LP and IFB, combos get screwed online and you'll find yourself doing more basic combos because of the speed you have to execute them and reactions HAVE to be on point and when you behind due to lag it kinda defeats it. Overall though it's still better than most games. I can't really call bullshit on moves like you can in SC with 1A and stuff, just some crossovers are really hard to defend against online (Zero's for example).

They have an lag feature to play with in practice mode to get a feel of how you will be moving online. I think it's helpful but I wouldn't recommend on it too hard, unless you're trying to get super good for online play.

HRD, this is how you'll know what characters suit you, just train vs super hard computer, make sure you pick the same team for them as for yours, in other words, the computer will teach you shit, than you can thank it later

The lag feature is a good help, but just as Tha_Shogun mentioned... the more flashy, damaging, and complex combos get killed online.
Online, Zero rapes my Taskmaster, but offline he can't even lay a scratch on Tasky.

The netcode appears to be better than SC, which is a good thing! In all sense though, even though the netcode appears to be good, there are still a couple of times where you might come across a match where the other lags like a bitch and those are pretty frustrating. >.<

Decided to try some online last night. OMG what a horrible piece of shit that was. Prolly the fuckin players i was up against. Sounds stupid but I finally found a room, and went I got in, I couldnt figure out how to get the game going. Who would know to push "reserve room" to start playing!! Bullshit. Then all I fought against was sentinal missles and what seemed like dante and deadpool spam. That was fuckin lame. I play online for all of bout 20 minutes and went to mission mode.

So Im liking as for my team that is, either ryu, dante, hulk or ryu, chris, akuma. I wanna throw a deadpool in there, but after the beating spam i took, i dont wanna be like those fuckers.

I got an idea....Ima stick to playing my kids and other homies round my house!!

@Ridley...Thats a good fuckin idea. Ima fo sho try that out!!
