Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

My issue with wesker is that EVERY form of poke leads to a huge combo. Gun, ground normals, jumping in, catching an opponent in the air, air to air, air grab, ground grab! Most characters have limitation to what they can reap off a hit based on scenario. Dormammu for example can only tag on portals and hypers at a long range poke. Air to air his combo potential is very limited. He only reaps huge damage off grounded normals unless he spends meter immediately. This is good characters design. Obvious strengths and weaknesses....Wesker on the other hand just has to hit confirm anything and run with it. Mind you the gun > teleport needs to be instant, but the gun is so quick you can generally predict it's success or complicate the teleport. Add in the fact he has an insanely ambiguous cross up with assist + mid screen teleport.

Right now I feel he's the most OP character in the game. And there's a few others that I feel get too much damage off too many scenarios. I'm fine with high damage, but it shouldn't exist in EVERY combo starter.

I might be missing something as I don't play Wesker and maybe there's some secret issues to him I'm unaware of, but every time I fight him it feels like he's just randomly poking me from every where and once he does he can tear off 80% of my life no matter how awkward the hit started.

In terms of match ups, that gun locks down Dorm. I try to duck and teleport or drop a portal, but often I get snagged in the start up by a new bullet.

much love for Wesker. I cannot stand Dorm though, so you'll see no help from me using him to beat anyone let alone Wesker.

If I had a pound for every 'do I frighten you?'... 'Over here'... I do that more then actual attacks really, but I really can't help you if you insist on playing as Dorm.

As you say, he only requires small set-ups for high damage combos, one thing I will say across the board is not to stay too still, but try and anticipate what he's going to do next and do your best not to walk into it. Best way to do that is to let him try I'm afraid, but he can be fairly predictable.

I find some characters can handle some of the shenanigans, often those with forward moving anti projectile moves. It allows them to punish teleport or move past it safely, and can blow through gun. Dorm has issues because wesker can teleport past flame carpet, gun goes over it and beats him in zoning, Dorm lacks good movement outside of air dash and can't rush him down too well. I think Wekser has a sever advantage over Dorm. Though carpet does make maximum wesker completely useless

That sounds like problems with the characters rather than problems with the matchup. Wesker is a decent jack-of-all-trades, with his health and damage pushing him a bit over average. The best or overpowered? I don't think so. I'm relatively sure, though, going off theory, that he beats Dorm on the ground. And it seems like Dorm's airthrowing ability is subpar. The best out I can really think of for Dorm is to do jumping teleports and flies in order to gain some ground (using air gravity ball and his jumping S. to keep Wesker at bay). Other than that, you really just have to outplay the opponent. I don't know if Dorm can duck bullets or not, but, if he can, he can use that time to chip at Wesker.

Maximum Wesker can be stopped by just about anything, it's one of the weakest crutch hypers in the game, needs a good set-up to carry through properly. But it can sometimes miss one hit, releasing the auto guard and then come from behind and steal a few hits.

I still think your best bet is anticipation with Dorm, and if you're able to get him on the run you can use your own teleports, coupled with assists, to surprise him, risky as that may be. I've seen players use some rather nasty assist combinations in corners, and the purification into hyper OTG always comes out eventually. Dorm's definately got one over on Wesker in terms of raw power, he's a bit lacking up close is all.

Dorm has massive power no doubt...but he has limitations on setting up that combo. Wesker doesn't. Wesker has far more ways to get in AND has great resets. Dorm also depends on meter for the damage, Wesker does fine without it and often not doing maximum wesker is better just to threaten with that lvl 3

I only play online weskers and those are pretty much just carbon copies of others and even then its annoying trying to play them. I play hulk as my point and when I go up against a wesker its one of the hardest match ups to deal with, I can't duck under bullets and I have too approuch wesker or I"m going to just take chip damage and get caught by one of his teleports. The thing I found to be the best is to just pressure wesker, don't give him breathing room or space to teleport. If you give wesker space then your just asking to lose health, though the best advice I can give is to learn Wesker and see what other people do against him.

Quick question, something I was wondering about for a while. When I was first starting playing online I saw this guy who used Deadpool, and, now this may have been my imagination, but I could've sworn at one point I saw him hold up a little looney toons style sign, saying 'TILT'.

I'm sure I wasn't mistaking it for one of his taunts, as there was no voice, but I'm sure it was there, there was no speech bubble, a little sign.

So anyone else seen this? As an aside, how often do you use the taunt. I don't often, as it slows you down, but I like to get it in during a fight with those guys who use it at the end. Then win obviously lol

If you have Dante and Wesker on your team I have no respect for you.
Aww you don't respect SHIN then....
Anyways I've got the strategy guide now and I only read up on hulk and learned some things on him, though I still don't know how this could work, can someone tell me how you can combo off his command grabs?

For one always mash to get that full damage, then you dash after them, call an OTG assist about halfway through the dash (little later sometimes), then hit them when the assist pops them up.

Wesker is easy to stop =/ simply duck his straight bullets(they don't hit for shit) and wait for his teleport, if he fuckes up then punish the shit out of him, if he does that jumping shooting then wait for it...wait for it.. boom he fucked up the teleport again! punish his ass and there you go. The one thing about him is that even after dante's longass combos + hyper combo + dormammu's hyper combo follow up, only wesker can survive through that shit =/ then he'll rape you with X-factor gun spam and teleport

No. If he has space to do his jumping shot than he has a lot of room to move around and thats a big NO, also off the shot he can just instantly teleport straight down and just stay away from you if he wants.

I main wesker, I know what i'm talking bout, he means nothing. The only real problem I have is dealing with Morrigan's soul fist spam while she has her clone. How can you go through that shit?

Do I at least get some points for playing Dormammu?

Lol hey guys. Haven't really been on in a while. Dynasty Warriors 7 has been sucking the life out of me (although I finally Platted it, you're never done with Dynasty Warriors until you max every character X_X)

Anyways, I'll give just a little insight on Wesker since I love the guy. So first off, in all honesty, Wesker is a pain in the ass to deal with online, even though I myself play him. The best way to deal with him is to react to his teleports and punish accordingly, as it's always going to be a set distance as to where he ends up. But a decent Wesker will always cover his teleports with assists and zone accordingly until it's safe.

Thing is, online Weskers usually NEVER cover themselves, however, because it's online, it becomes safe and assists covering Wesker become OP. Don't really know a solution to this besides playing offline but a well timed projectile hyper should be enough to stop him while punishing his assist. As for gun shot zoning, well timed projectiles usually solve the problem. If he's super jumping and shooting it, just rush in really quick if you know where he'll teleport after. Easier said than done, but it's online. What do you expect?

SHIN teach me Wesker, I need him for my hulk so I can combo off my CT. On a serperate note does anyone use command throws onlnie? I've tried and I've been punished hard for it, since I have to assume people respect frames onlnie.

Replaced C Viper for Chun-li again due to the fact she compliments Zero well. Team nyaaa: Felicia, Zero, and Chun-li. Done venting.
