What do you think your strengths and weaknesses as a player are?

weakness:
1)releasing hilde's charges too early when in recovery frames (ex: release C2B too early during 22B, so it doesn't come out at all and i just stand there like a rock because i thought i did the move).

2) using predictable punishers. i like to 2A+B with hilde......a lot (the shoulder-bash)!unfortunately , it has come to my attention that it is not the most perfectly awesome move i think it to be and my friends have started exploiting that.

3)i suuuuuck at playing keep away with the opponent. i have the tools, just not the know-how since i prefer to be all up in their grill. there are moments when i need to space though, like when i'm about to die and can't make a single mistake or it's "you lose" for me.

Strengths:
1) i use characters that not a lot of people know how to play against like maxi, voldo, hilde, etc. while this isn't really a strength, it certainly wins me enough games to include it here since a lot of opponents aren't familiar with them.

2)i do dumb spam. like CE CE, or hilde's A+G(BE) 4x, or voldo's 66B(BE) etc.[/quote]

That isnt spam, thats people falling for the same tricks more that twice .>:D

Hey, spamming is a legitimate strategy and can work out all right into playing mindgames. Relying on character ignorance isn't, though. Good way to lose.

All the cool kids are updating their lists, why don't I too? I am quite the poser, afterall.

Strengths:
-not satisfied with current skill
-shameless(a win is a win)
-aggressiveness(KILL! KILL! KILL!)
-willingness to improvise and learn new shit
-completely indifferent about victory/defeat

Weaknesses:
-very unsafe
-too much rushdown in situations it makes no sense in
-doesn't use vanilla GIs
-will randomly fail to react to things(like a deer in the headlights -.- )
-doesn't break throws
-can't remember enough
-poor management of meter
-bad habits(you expect me to *NOT* do Dampierre 623B ~ B+G? You rascals.)
-lack of useful experience
-a wee bit more nihilistic than is useful
-completely indifferent about victory/defeat
-what the fuck is JG?

I HIGHLY APPROVE.
-willingness to improvise and learn new shit
-completely indifferent about victory/defeat
Wish I could be like that :(

I have the same dilemma..; u ;
-can't remember enough
-poor management of meter
I abuse Pyrrha's 66B(BE) alot...
-bad habits(you expect me to *NOT* do Dampierre 623B ~ B+G? You rascals.)
And yet I fall for it like a sap. D:<
-lack of useful experience
You seem to know what you're doing :)

Strengths: character understandings, lots of practice before online matches, and giving respect and/or props to players who DESERVE it.

Weaknesses: cracking under pressure (I end up button-mashing a lot), forgetting when to block, guardbreak, and dodge, and lastly I end up looking like an ass i decline matches (mostly cause they're under 3 bars).

I guess I'll post an updated list of my strengths and weaknesses.

Strengths:
Decent Spacing.
Decent Yomi.
Good execution.

Weaknesses:
Bad against Viola, Natsu, and the Pyrrhas.
Struggles when outspaced.
Tends to press the iagA input too fast for the game during matches at times.
Turtles too much.
Bad at GI'ing and JG.
Can't figure out what move to use against rollers that isn't -1000000.

Ok, I may as well do this properly...

Strengths:
-Good attitude, I don't really get salty and I like losing to better players because I know I'll learn from it.
-Whiff punishes everything. It's where I get most of my damage a lot of the time. I often start to input the punisher before the attack actually finishes whiffing, meaning I often get to DNS B safe attacks like BB when they whiff.
-Pretty good at block punishment.
-Decent guard burst game.
-Notices my opponents' habits.

Weaknesses:
-Despite noticing habits, often fails to do anything about them when the opportunity arises. e.g. sometimes I'll think "right, this Mitsu player is about to 4B" but still do nothing about it.
-When put under pressure by a good player, punishment game becomes less consistent.
-Seems to be useless in certain MUs (mainly Voldo, Astaroth and to an extent, Raphael and Leixia)
-Can be a bit reckless when I'm in trouble.
-Sometimes inconsistent with execution. Though I usually have no trouble with JG, I just seem to get days when I can't JG obvious strings for some reason, maybe it's because I'm playing online, idk. Similarly, if I pick Cervantes, there are days when iGDR randomly becomes impossible.
-I can't deal with mix up pressure. I seem to guess wrong too often and get 2K BE'd to death by Mixuprugi.
-I lose focus fairly easily and stop fighting seriously when this happens.
-I spend so long working out what my opponent is doing right that I sometimes fail to grasp what I'm doing wrong.

Time for an updort!
Again, this is in the context of playing against friends and comps, neither of which are very competitive minded
Strengths:
-greatly expanding basic knowledge of characters and moves, playing Kilik is forcing me to learn Aeon and Raph, lol
-Finally getting the hang of Brave Edge and Guard Impacts!
-I try to keep a good attitude. I don't really get mad when I lose, usually I just laugh it off.

Weaknesses:
-Patsuka, Siegfried, Astaroth WILL END ME
-I can't JG to save my life.
-I play on a really crappy controller! I use a wired Afterglow controller, and the buttons stick like you wouldn't believe. But it's so cool!
-Barring one specific style, I'm more of a jack of all stats, master of none type of player. I'd rather be mediocre with all styles than proficient with only one or two. Keeps me from getting bored.

Inbetween/little bit of both:
-I still main DJ, because he's the only style I can't get from a mimic character.
-I don't play super seriously. I can appreciate a good match but having fun is my priority.

Is the controller like orange lighted? Cus my bro bought one, and I used it for SC, the stickyness of the buttons was unbearable :'(

This is the very one. [that is my hand, lol] They're baaaaaaaaad. Definately not for fightan games.

THATS THE VERY ONE MY BRO HAS. HOW I HATE THAT DAMN THING. I COULDNT DO A SIMPLE 236B LET ALONE IVY'S CS WITH THAT ABOMINATION. I WILL NEVER EVER USE IT AGAIN FOR SOUL CALIBUR. >8U

But, I use that controller only for games like Skyrim, or Fable, or games that dont require me to do complicated moves or stuff like that C: and the light is really cool hehehe :)

Hmm... I started playing again last night and I think my weaknesses are that I don't side step a lot (though I do it more then I did in the previous games lol), I don't block a lot (need to work on that), and I have slow reactions on throws to do a throw break.

You dont really need to react to the throws. Just always mash either A or B whenever you are blocking.

Neither can I xD Also I can kinda tell when somebody is going to side-step but I still go for the stab ;(
