What do you think your strengths and weaknesses as a player are?

Using the AI is never a really good way for training because it does simply not adapt and falls for the same stuff again, there are no mindgames whatsoever. The only way to become good, is by fighting against good players.

I dont have any weaknesses. If I lose its lag or someone got infront of my TV.

Not true, look at me. I only play against the AI and sit in the training mode since I don't have access to any great players offline and online I can't connect with 80% of them.

You surely didnt get your mindgames from fighting against the AI though.

Wasn't it you who posted that ridiculous stupid triple perfect challenge? If not than nevermind.

Here is a thing for you. When cervy does 4B BE and it is blocked, BT B+K is 90% guaranteed afterwards, even against highest level A.I. Would I spam this against against Whoazz or other high level players? F*ck No.

If you do offline, more power to you. That's the best way to get the most out of a game. I won't deny that. I'd suggest hitting up some peeps who may live in your area or befriend someone who likes this game as you.

Online is for people who are unable to travel and do offline training with others. That's where most of my playtime goes into, but I wouldn't mind going offline to improve. At least it's better than beating Legendary Souls under 10 minutes and fapping to that.

Exactly. The AI teaches you the worst habits, i swear. For some chars at least.

Training mode is one thing - its really good and very important, i spend a huge chunk of my playtime in it. But the AI...

Well, if you play against the AI with only one mindset: to win by spamming moves that the AI falls for all the time it's not gonna work obviously xD I play it to learn where to step/duck/jg/punish, and to familiarize myself better with certain move animations. For example, interrupting Xiba's 6AK and 6BK. It's different when you record it in the training mode and replay it 10 times in a row, and when the AI uses it only once in a while, you don't know when it's coming so you actually have to recognize the move and react very quickly. I guess it's like learning something in the training mode and then putting in to the test against the AI.

Yes, but you're reactions and mindgames are not human. So you don't count.
Fair enough =s

For this kind of practice it is legit i agree. But imho the most essential thing at high lvl play are mindgames and adapting to the player, at least thats how i feel about it. The AI on the other hand does not take part in mindgames at all and will never adapt. My personal style that is most effective against human opponents would not be viable against the AI and vice versa.

Hey Everyone, Cleaned up this thread. So much troll. I kept as much of the thread that was not troll as possible. Warnings were handed out to those responsible. Keep this thread on topic from now on or it faces the possibility of being locked. Thank you, -Rhythm

Best way to understand is to try it. See for yourself, I'm done explaining that it works for me & maybe not for you. It's funny, I actually found out that I can't really post something without having a huge war over it XD. You guys are somethin.....

Time for an update.

Weaknesses

First up, I'm very lazy.

Aside from that, I still need work on my match-up knowledge, execution, spacing, and meter management for Yoshi.

I'm free to certain match-ups like ZWEI, Aeon, Astaroth, Natsu, and more. Thankfully, there's certain peeps I can look to for sparring.

Execution wise? Need to get RCC 3B after anything such as CH iMCF or FC3K, aB+K needs to be more consistent, need to do iFC3K.

Spacing? I like doing this, but I is very nooby at this. Need to master the "space dance" like the pros. *pouts*

Meter management? Majority of the time, I dump all my meter into GIs and CEs for Yoshi.

I also gotta do the same thing to Leixia. For all these.

Strengths
Confident in losing to other people. I can take it. Once I research why I lose to certain things, it lifts my spirits a bit. I don't like losing, but I always blame myself yet keep fighting my opponent giving me beatdowns. It doesn't peeve me as much if you let me keep doing salty runbacks. Ragewinners that boot or leave kinda does though. I like a nice trade of wins and losses between my opponent and I to tire me out. That's what I call true ggs.

eh updated mine so Here I go
Strengths: Good basics (lol), Great execution with yoshi and alpha, Ok spacing.

Weaknesses:......My throw breaking skills are poor just not the same when I play sc4, Impatient, I dislike playing the spacing game alot, im lazy, need better matchup knowledge, I rage when I lose 50% of my hp in one attack, I really hate fighting the following chars (Mits,Natsu,Astaroth,Cervantes, algol,Omega) When im really annoyed I just switch to alpha and say its all over for u (hate fighting alpha but glad there isn't alot of alpha users online) Im not good at conditioning my opponent, Majority when Im up 2-0 in a match I just can't finish it out then my opponent wins the next 3 in a row......,I suck with raph and aeon trying to get better using those two. And thats it..I think I can keep going on and on but don't feel like it.

Well, I can update, I guess...

Strengths: Great punishing, good B&B with most characters, good spacing, good trolling ability (If that's any consolidation...),

Weaknesses: Throw breaking, prone to blocking too much, poor JG ability out of lag.

Strengths:
  • Good sense of opponent's mindset based on what kind of moves they are using
  • Solid mixups and good defense
  • Lots of experience with the game systems
  • Very in-depth knowledge of my character's frame data

Weaknesses:
  • Prone to over-think opponent's yomi and assume they will adapt to what I did last time.
  • Easily frustrated when I guess wrong several times in a row
  • Nervous in front of a crowd (at tournaments)
  • Have little-to-no real matchup experience against several tournament-frequent characters (Cervantes, Viola, Natsu)

I have the same problem too Dx;

weakness:
1)releasing hilde's charges too early when in recovery frames (ex: release C2B too early during 22B, so it doesn't come out at all and i just stand there like a rock because i thought i did the move).

2) using predictable punishers. i like to 2A+B with hilde......a lot (the shoulder-bash)!unfortunately , it has come to my attention that it is not the most perfectly awesome move i think it to be and my friends have started exploiting that.

3)i suuuuuck at playing keep away with the opponent. i have the tools, just not the know-how since i prefer to be all up in their grill. there are moments when i need to space though, like when i'm about to die and can't make a single mistake or it's "you lose" for me.

Strengths:
1) i use characters that not a lot of people know how to play against like maxi, voldo, hilde, etc. while this isn't really a strength, it certainly wins me enough games to include it here since a lot of opponents aren't familiar with them.

2)i do dumb spam. like CE CE, or hilde's A+G(BE) 4x, or voldo's 66B(BE) etc.
