What made you give your characters the style that they use?

My only CAS uses Tira, because I main her. I'd have picked Algol's style but CAS characters can't use it.

Yes, but you can make pretty cool Algols 3P, which is a form of CAS, isn't it...

You see, the trick is to use spoiler tags so that everyone thinks you're polite and considerate, when really you're just shamelessly forcing your CaS down the 8 Way Run community's collective throat.
Tip: only give your character Pyrhha Omega's style if your CaS is supposed to be bat-shit insane.

Depends on the character. Spoiler'd for the convenience of everyone who isn't interested in my mindless drivel.

Tira: I just give her different outfits which I find stylish and (most of the time) try to tailor it into something that fits her general aesthetic. For example, I've got a sort of cliche princess outfit for her...Except I tailored it to match her by adding a muzzle(you *KNOW* she bites), chains on her arms, and a ball & chain on her ankle because if there was ever a princess that needed to be locked up for everyone's safety it's definitely Tira. Then there's exceptions like the China dress currently seen in my avatar, that's an outright stolen idea that just happened to be awesome enough to work(thanks to whoever came up with Ikkitousen's promo art featuring Sonsaku Hakufu in a China dress similarly).

And the rest, by styles...

Aeon: I was going for a sort of satanic preacher, but nothing really screamed "evil" to me. Devil Jin's style was my first guess, but the axes combined with fire breath and animalistic movements seemed a better fit to me.

Alpha Patroklos: A compromise between Patroklos' flashiness and Siegfried's cooler, more calm dealie. Seemed perfect for a chick that just underwent a heel-face turn.

Astaroth: Big guy that uses brute force applied cleverly. Nothing else seemed to do the trick. Nightmare was considered, but seemed to angry for the character to me. Astaroth's style seems more pragmatic and coolheaded by comparison, whereas Siegfried's seems a little bit too complex for what I was aiming at.

Cervantes: Simply put, the lack of better dual wielding options. Sure there's Natsu and Yoshimitsu, but they don't have both of their weapons utilized for attacks in quite the way that Cervantes does. He may as well be ambidextrous, either of his hands are a great threat and that fits the levelheadded attitude of this character.

Dampierre: Evil clowns. Need I say more?

Devil Jin: Probably the most out-there choice, a simple plague doctor and nothing more.

Edge Master: No style really fits a grim reaper-ish character when there's no scythe now, does it? I couldn't settle on a style, so all of them sounded just as reasonable as a single style which didn't really fit the character to begin with.

Elysium: An 'awakened' version of the grim reaper-y character using Edge Master's style. The only purpose in the change is the CE: she's taking away your soul when you're hit by that :)

Hilde: Just because it's something different. I never play Hilde either, which makes this easily the weakest reason for any character I have to use the style they use.

Ivy: I was looking for something that seemed like a melee weapon that a benevolent mad scientist would use. Nothing else sounds as scientastic as Ivy's magic whip sword. So magic whipsword it is.

Leixia: If you're a random Asian witch covered in flowing clothing, you should probably be dancing. Sounded reasonable to me at least.

Maxi: As crazy as it sounds, I wanted an evil white knight that just-so-happened to be a medieval weeaboo. So he's a white guy clad in samurai armor(all white of course) with a nunchaku. Medieval Tom Cruise, basically.

Mitsurugi: This one was especially difficult to decide on with a lot criteria I had a very difficult time settling on. An evil god comes down from the heavens to wreak havoc on humanity for the evulz. What kind of fighting style would an evil god use? Algol's style would be pretty much ideal, but of course that's out of the question. But then it hit me: he's an evil SUN god, so he'll come from the east.

Nightmare: A very angry dude with very good reasons to be angry: being murdered. Nightmare's brutal-looking attacks just seem appropriate for someone boiling over with rage.

Patroklos: I wanted something that looked heroic, Pattycakes' style does the trick.

Pyrrha Omega: Feminine equivalent to Nightmare without all the compensation, works fine for a formerly-dead chick that just wants to make someone suffer.

Raphael: A really really difficult decision. The character I envisioned used a pretty...interesting set of weapons: a tonfa and a steel claw. The replacement needed to be graceful above all, Raphael's dancing like movements seemed to match the best. Leixia's style seems more...playful and innocent in comparison, Raphael's gives off more a vibe of ill intent IMO. And that works for an evil character.

Siegfried: He's basically like Siegfried, only a heel instead of a face. Cold and remorseless white knight. Simple as that.

Viola: What else says evil witch quite like a magic ball that teleports everywhere?

ALGOL PHARAOH CAS
I have about 20 Algol 3ps. What I meant by 'only CAS' was 'only create a soul' as in I created an original character. But yes default character costumes are a form of creation and all of my slots sans that 1 CAS are Tira and Algol alts.
:)
Cute Algol, a bit heavy for me though.
For 3p algol i use dr doom
He has FOOT DIVE. He has DA FINGER LAZERZ, He even has THE FREAKING CHAIR

Lol, recreations aren't my style. Dr. Doom Algol is pretty sassy though.

Pocky Yoshi thinks Vilar prefers to show them in a blatantly proud fashion. At first it may seem offensive, but it isn't all bad. Perhaps he's looking for a worthy competitor? Pride and competition, it's what makes the world go round. And on that note the LeBello challenges need to be wrapped up so the next one can start.

That's quite a ramble not many people will read. A bit biased and raised an eyebrow but respect Pocky Yoshi gives you since he read a good bit of them.

Regarding what last posters said, Pocky Yoshi agrees. We use certain CAS to fit the nature. It's like nicknaming pokemon. It must suit it.

Nicknaming a big dragon pokemon Fluffy is very derpish. Nicknaming Pikachu as Sparky however suits it. Because Pikachu is cute, energetic, and shockingly awesome to be around. If that analogy makes sense.

Unforgivable!!! Pokemon are creatures!! Not an average man named Steve. Just imagine a poor female Bulbasaur named that lol.
Hey if you throw an "i" in Steve it could work. Stevie doesn't sound uber masculine by any stretch of the imagination lol.

Edit:
In all honesty I had no good names for grass Pokemon lol.

Nowadays, I try to name something that suits them.

Like my Gyarados is called Angerous. Instead of calling it Dangerous, why not call it Angerous to emphasize it's dangerous when angry?

The nickname Buddy could suit many Grass types including Bulbasaur. Since Bulbasaur is waiting to evolve so it's bulb on it's back can bloom into a flower or so, there's a name that could work haha. Not only that, Bulbasaur is a faithful and sweet buddy to have around ya.

But on topic wise, certain styles are hard to put together especially when there is no certain style like a Zas style.

I made Irvine Kinneas from FFVIII and I can't change him off Zwei for the life of me. No one else's style seems to fit him.

What would make the most sense to me is Cervantes for Irvine, because, y'know, guns. However, I can imagine that some of ZWEI's animations work well for Irvine. Those animations would work well for any CaS with a hat.

I bassically pick the style that more fits the chracter I'm doing, but I must admit that when I love a character I created and I don't know how to use it, I change the style for using it.

For example, my fish-woman was Viola style, but I changed to Nightmare only to use her, because I absolutely never played viola. And I gave Amy lexia style.

I have lot of characters I never use cause I don't play they styles, but I dont care. All those I want to use yes or yes are given an style thay I know how to play. But I try them to fit the char anyway.

I mean, I didn't give Nightmare or Maxi style to Amy, I gave her Lexia. And even if the fish-woman was Viola in first play, Nightmare style really fits her, probably even more than viola's.

Problem is I don't like Cervntes one bit. Patroklos kinda works but that's the only character I play that I can see him using.

i use styles that i feel match the character i make, Cloud= long sword (of course), Sentinel= Natsu, Tidus= sword and shield, Dart= A Potro for single style sword, and ect. i never pick based on who i'm good with, this way when i'm using my favs. i'm also training with the style.

Well as much as I enjoy showing off the stuff I make I don't want to waste anyone's time.
that's why i avoid the overly serious players. there are more people on the game who rather see creations then are worried about being some super unbeatable player. i even seen one of those type kicked out because he was complaining people were more worried about making chracters

And on that note the Le Bello challenges need to be wrapped up so the next one can start.

Soon. I know I gave people a week but I may end it tonight when I return from work. Le Bello's next challenge will be interesting...

And mostly reasons posted by others: It's dependent on the character Le Bello wants to portray. A roman gladiator-esque character would wield Pat's sword and shield. My jungle huntress character uses Hilde's spear.

However sometimes I might be inspired by an actual weapon itself. Take Xiba's trident for instance. I've been trying to find a use for that that doesn't involve Atlantean princes and kings, and I may well have done just that..

On a final however, however, Le Bello sometimes creates a character with the sole purpose of matching the style. At the moment I've fallen in love with Aeon's style, but I find it weird having a human breath fire and grow wings, so I decided to come up with a way around it. I made a Manticore.

So I guess it ultimately depends on Le Bello's mood.

i agree with the style thing, its like what i said, as for your thoughts on the trident why not have a contest to see who can make the best Poseidon from the Wrath of the Titans movie? that would be a challange
