Which characters would you have killed off?

If saying it was rushed is grasping at straws, so is saying it wasn't. We don't have any incontrovertible evidence supporting either statement, all we have is circumstantial and anecdotal.

However, I believe more things lean towards it having been rushed than to the contrary. It's just so much. The unprecedented three mimics(by SC standards at least), Elysium & Kilik clearly intended to possess different styles in Story Mode & Legendary Souls(their artwork also depicting them as non-mimics), the unlock method for 'legacy' weapons Mekkimaru/Kali-Yuga/no name, the lack of the majority of the cast even having a mention in Story Mode, the brief biographies & artbook laying out a much more massive story, Odashimas claim that Story Mode was only a quarter complete, Zasalamels SCIV 1P model being on-disc with no apparent changes, Aeon & Dampierre being essentially non-customizable when the character editor is one of their main draws for the casual audience...It goes on. Yes, this is all circumstantial and anecdotal evidence. I think it's pretty good evidence supporting the notion the game was rushed though.

I can't see any reason to plan for Elysium & Kilik to have different movesets than their art intended, to mention Takis return & have indicators she returned(Mekkimaru) without seeing it, to not have 2P costumes for Aeon/Algol/Dampierre, to say characters are important to the story(Viola) & have them do nothing worthwhile, to make the protagonist an unlikable douche without someone else taking center stage at some point, to release an artbook spoiling what would be the rest of the story, to continue development through power outages and nuclear disasters...Yeah sure, you can disregard as much or as little as you want. But as long as you're grasping at straws to say it is or isn't rushed, more points towards it having been rushed than the opposite.

I do wish people woud stop saying the dlc was mysteriously halted. We weren't supposed to know about that stuff.

He was evil before he acquired Soul Edge, all it did was make him a ghost zombie pirate rather than a normal pirate. He doesn't care for anyone but himself, all he wants is more rape and pillage.

In other words, he's a real class act.

Not really. He was angry at the establishment and killed for money(notice that he would have joined the spanish fleet otherwise- doing the same thing under the flag of patriotism). Siegfried was perhaps even more of a villain that we know of than Cervantes was Pre-SE, as he, despite being from well-set family, led a group of robber-murderers. Had he not happened to kill his dad, he'd likely still be at it- much like. The only difference is that Siegfried excused himself by murdering "filthy cowards". More self-righteous? Yes. Less evil? Hardly.

So no, Cervantes is not really a worse evil by himself. As far as I can recall, his one and only known rape was under SE influence, no?

Siegfried was just as evil as Cervantes pre-patricide(after which he was a back-stabbing, murdering psycho even pre-SE). Not budging on that. If Siegfried can be redeemed, so can certainly Cervantes. Will he be? No, he won't be taken in that direction.

An unfinished project that manages to dish out an art book....... cd, the making of and behind the scenes vid.... collectors box, and then later patches.... I don't see Time Constraints... I see Planned Action.

The video that promoted TTT2 - if you saw it you might have seen the making of vid/ interview. Harada more or less says there.... that to come up with an idea, and then make it- doesn't take long...

Half of that stuff would take like a day to make. and they're obviously going to release balance patches. Namco DOES make fighters after all, they know games will need them.

1: Emailing assets to marketing departments and having them request ________ from the actual publishing branch of the same company is far from a massive undertaking that requires ridiculous amounts of foresight and planning to accomplish. With all the 'special' and 'limited' editions of things released nowadays, this isn't something one should bat an eyelash at.

2: As long as both sides in a discussion have the entire weight of their arguments based on implication, heresy, and things other than concrete facts acquired by being an inside source then the one with a greater amount of evidence supposedly in favor of it is the stronger one. Not the one with less. "Oh, they made an artbook with assets from teh development team so therefore it was planned to be made incomplete from the very start."

3: Adding superfluous capitalization as an effort to emphasize something other than the opinion itself in order to enhance the supposed validity of the opinion does not actually increase its validity. Soulcalibur V was Rushed. See how much more valid that made my opinion? It didn't.

4: Yes, companies do purposely make things incomplete all the time for the sake of profit. Oh, but guess what? We don't have any quality evidence that this is the case here.

5: Evidence on both sides of this discussion are non-concrete. Again, none of us had anything to do with the production of the game.

More supposed evidence points towards the game being rushed out the door incomplete for the sake of TTT2 console ports than to the contrary. Doesn't mean it's a fact, but then again as long as we lack true quality evidence is it not wiser to lean towards the higher quantity evidence?

Anything to do with art books and collectors editions, etc. pertains to the publisher instead of the developer. The developer just develops the game with the resources provided by the publisher. Judging by the final product, it's safe to say that SCV had alot less resources than say, TTT2. Everything in my collectors edition was produced by manufacturers under Namco's orders, not Project Soul's development resources.

The art book is created to justify charging the customer more for a collector's edition. That is purely a marketing issue for the publisher.

That's why we have these!
