Why bother adding blood in the first place? The more realism you give people, the more they want, to the point where we've got mutilation, dis-figuration and Astaroth winning almost all the fights in mere seconds.

Not to mention the more people want the shock over the substance. Look at MK vs DC, it was a decent game but the biggest compains were the lack of random exaggerated explosions of hemoglobin. That too could be the Soul calibur franchise if casuals hot key that idea over the game itself.

Sometimes I hate people.

But imagine if there were blood effects. People would then complain about the AMOUNT of blood, be it too much, or too little. And some people would argue over if X character would bleed, and what colour, and then Viola, and bleh.
