Would your opinion of the series change if they took it into M-rated territory?

M Rating games get all the love because in America, we love Violence, boobies, red meat but we hate seeing sex and anything else that doesn't suit this country's lack of morals -__-

I personally wouldn't mind some wear and tear in moderation. Being able to shrug off impaling and throat slashing never really justified no blood whatsoever for me. That's my two cents anyway: I'm entirely up for smatterings of red rather than liters.

I always found it funny that Mortal Kombat was mainly hand to hand combat, yet they bleed like a girl on her first rag. On the other hand, I love how SC's violence is conveyed with flashy lights instead of blood. I mean c'mon, they constantly get impaled by giant weapon and live to fight another round. That's more tha enough violence to be amused by.

I'd be genuinely disappointed if Soul Calibur took it to an M rating. It's always bugged me in the first place how sexual it was, and seriously -- I think Ivy has shown enough skin for us all. Soul Calibur is about souls and weapons and fighting, not porn. Sure, some blood would be a bit realistic to a fighting game but for a game that is set in the Renaissance, over-revealing clothes and boobs and skin and all that stuff really isn't necessary... >_> Plus my parents would bring the hammer down if they caught me buying an M rated game.

I always thought that if a game is gonna go all bloody with the stabbing then it needs to be just at the end of the fight. I hate how in MK9 you could snap every bone in their body but really it serves no purpose whatsoever other then being cosmetic.

An idea for a sword fighting game would be if you hit someone with a BB your opponent would do a forced guard as opposed to being hit which would still take away their 'HP' then when they have no health left they actually get cut and go down. (Then again I think 'HP' and 'rounds' are a little outdated imo)

Still love this game and it doesn't need any changes other than more content.

what are you, like 12? Just kidding, but yeah I agree with the oversexualization of characters. But let's face it, sex sells. The female body is a beautiful thing to recreate with 3D figures. Just not sure if I agree with Ivy's increasing breast size. I don't use her, but I'm sad that I can't customize her because her boobs ruin EVERY TOP!!!

Just in case you were still wondering, on page 7 of this discussion: no, Soul Calibur shouldn't include blood and gore. It would really make SC something it's not, never tried to be, and never needs to be.

Not 12, just...awkward. XD

M for like sexualness, it would be strange but I will still stick to it.
M for like blood like MK. Nope, no. Does not fit.
I dont wanna see like Pyrrha getting beat to Oblivion or any other character really.

Certainly do not want M-rated SC. I like the rating how it is at the moment. Especially adding gore etc. would instantly kill my interest in this series.
well what about adding blood but not necessarily over the top MK style? I think it might be refreshing to have a little red squirt out instead of bright colorful fireworks every time someone gets hit. the blood doesn't even need to stay on the ground.
i think this would make the soul series feel a little more serious and brutal, while keeping the graphic violence to a minimum. i think it still might be rated T if this happened. hell, sign me up for SCVI when they add a little blood!

EDIT: uhh, just sign me up for SCVI regardless...

I want a darker more serious game but not a visually profound game. Believe it or not, there is a difference you guys. Emphasis Dark in theme like Castlevania or Devil May Cry... but not bloodletting like Gears of war or immature like DmC. Its all about atmosphere and deeping the story to bring more reason to empathise with the characters. I would have felt sorry for Pyrrha if it wasnt for her dialogue being so corny... its her story that is what I was intrested. She never met her family until they attacked her on the battlefeild, posessed by the power being her only source of comfort and Tira's insanity confusing the motives she needs to take... pretty dark...

Yun sung desprately wanted the power to save his country from they very power that he is running from... pretty twisted.

And Amy... oh lord, she too is a twisted sister just like Pyrrha.
